Les Niches offers a very high standard of accommodation throughout the year with the benefit of free wifi throughout. The ground floor of the property has a pretty kitchen well equipped with gas cooker and washing machine and dishwasher. There is a separate dining area next to the kitchen and also on the ground floor is a double bedroom and bathroom next door. The first floor has a large lounge area with west views to the countryside and magnificent sunsets, there are two further bedrooms 1 double with en suite and 1 twin bedded with bathroom adjacent. The entire barn exudes a feeling of quality and attention to detail.
My wife and I live in England with our 3 offspring (aged 27, 21, and 17) our 5 year old pet Golden Retriever "Luna" and a 3 year old Golden-doodle "Ron". Liz and I both work, but four years ago took the opportunity to buy Les Niches from my parents, Ricky and Marie, who have lived in Cuneges since 1999. They converted the barn into Les Niches in 2004 - discovering in the process it was originally a monastic building. Mum and dad still live "next door" in the Farmhouse and run Les Niches for us, always on hand when required to ensure guests have a superb holiday and get the full benefit of the joys of this wonderful area. Mum is a fluent French speaker and dad gesticulates a lot! Quentin Tailford.
Quentin Tailford purchased this barn in 1999
In the UK we live in the Cotswolds; beautiful. The escarpment on the South side of the Dordogne is equally wonderful with rolling hills behind, golden stone properties, friendly people and stunning villages and views. It is the Cotswolds WITH sunshine, sunflowers and vineyards. If you love open spaces, idyllic villages, great food and wine, the artisan culture, and a stunning refuge from the day to day madness, then Les Niches is truly number 42 - the Meaning of Life. Whilst there is plenty to see and do I would warn you that you may end up spending your days lying poolside soaking up the peace and tranquility of Les Niches. Enjoy!

We had a fabulous long weekend at Les Niches which is a very comfortable, well run 3 bedroom gite. The owners who live next door could not have been more welcoming and knowledgable about the local area. We had a splendid time visiting a different market every day and the Chateaux at Duras and Montbazillac. We would highly recommend a stay at Les Niches! Flew on Flybe from Southampton to Bergerac which I would highly recommend too.
Absolutely everything about this property is first class. The gite is beautiful, immaculate, and in a wonderful location. The swimming pool and surrounding gardens are just a joy. However, the best thing of all about Les Niches has to be the owners, Ricky and Marie. By good luck the weather was lovely, but , quite honestly I feel that the sun will shine for everyone when they are around.
The property is very well appointed, equipped , clean and maintained. All aspects of our stay exceeded expectations. We would concur with all the positive comments posted by other guests. We highly recommend Les Niches. Rickie and Marie are an absolute delight. Thank you both for making our enjoyable stay that much extra special.
Les Niches offers superb accommodation in a beautiful location. Marie and Ricky offer support and advice without being intrusive. The generous welcome pack is a wonderful addition.
We would recommend this property without any hesitation.
We have spent a very happy week in this tranquil, pretty and comfortable house. The hosts are very kind and attentive, adding to what is already a near perfect experience. It is an ideal base from which to explore the plethora of Bergerac vineyards.
Beautifully presented and pristine clean. Easy to find, with the help of a wizened neighbour. Ricky and Marie made every effort to make our stay completely faultless and a joy from start to finish. A family holiday that ticked all our boxes.
