Brathay Lodge is a privately owned pet friendly 2 bed/2 bath Scandinavian style pine lodge with private hot tub in a delightful woodland setting on the shores of Lake Windermere in the heart of the Lake District National Park. The perfect escape for couples seeking an away from it all break or families looking for an action packed holiday in this outdoor lovers' paradise. Located within the prestigious White Cross Bay Park and Marina and close to the vibrant towns of Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside with excellent restaurants, cosy pubs buzzing bars. As well as the on-site facilities guests at all our four lodges can now enjoy all the benefits of a full health club membership only 5 minutes from the lodge absolutely FREE ! ( full details below )

Beautifully furnished, the log cabin has 2 bedrooms, master en suite, twin bedded room plus further family bathroom. Centrally heated and double glazed and with extra large wrap round deck with hot tub and outdoor furniture. The perfect, cosy retreat in the heart of the beautiful Lake District any time of year. Pub, restaurant, shop all on site within a short stroll from the lodge

For a one off payment of only £15 guests have use of all on-site facilities ( covers the whole party for their entire stay ) ) including indoor heated pool, gym, sauna, children's play areas and private marina. Close to Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside with many charming old world pubs with open fires, excellent restaurants, fashionable bars, shops and all major attractions including Beatrix Potter.

Brathay Lodge offers spacious, luxurious accommodation; 2 bedrooms, master en-suite with king size bed, TV, 2 bathrooms, centrally heated, double glazed, stylish and contemporary design and decor, spacious open plan living area with leather sofas, modern fitted well equipped kitchen with fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, gas hob, French windows open onto large sunny deck with outdoor furniture. 2 flat screen TVs, iPod docking station, free wi-fi. Private parking. Pets welcome extra £10 each ( max 2 ). Short breaks welcome, they run Mon-Fri and Fri-Mon, minimum 3 night stay, contact us for up to date prices and availability. White Cross Bay is open from 9 February to January 14.

Free Health Club Membership for all our guests.

We have arranged passes for all our guests at a brand new luxurious health club only 5 minutes from the lodge, just down the road at Troutbeck near Windermere.

Guests ( including children ) can enjoy unlimited use of the indoor heated pool, gym, sauna, steam room and studio classes, spinning etc. The gym, the largest and best equipped in the Lakes, features the latest cardio equipment available today including personal TV screens. There is also coffee lounge area where guests can relax afterwards.

For families or larger groups who like to holiday together our 3 bed lodge next door offers combined accommodation for a total of 10 ( see property ref E7568 for photos/details )

About Tony Mole

I recently moved back to Cumbria after spending 8 years in the South of France where I set up and ran a property business. Before moving to France I was owner of a graphic design studio and worked for many national and international clients. Ex-rugby player and keen on all sports including skiing, mountain biking, rowing, walking I love the great outdoors so am lucky to have rental properties in both the south of France and the Lake District. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

I fell in love with these gorgeous log cabins and their spectacular locations as soon as I saw them. Contemporary and up to date in terms of design and layout, very stylish interiors yet cosy when the snow's on the ground. I've equipped them with everything modern guests would expect to see such as iPod docking stations, wif-fi. Always a delight returning to one of the lodges after a long day on the fells. The locations are perfect for exploring arguably the most beautiful part of England any time of year.

Notes on accommodation: The lodge is comfortable and well equipped - a real home from home any time of the year. Perfect for families or couples. Free wi-fi internet access, selection of DVDs, books and games. Many on-park facilities including shop, laundry, children's play area, tennis, bar, restaurant, indoor heated pool, gym, sauna. The park is open 1 March - mid January (closed mid Jan - 1 March). We have another lodge next door ( Ref E7568 ) Rent both for your large group or special family occasion. 10% discount for booking both together. Outside: The lodge occupies a prominent corner site and has a much larger than average wrap round deck with outdoor furniture for al fresco dining. 2 private car parking spaces. The deck has a gate to allow pets freedom while being securely contained. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and towels included in rental price. The lodge is cleaned and linen changed weekly.

Wonderful

We booked a 3 night / 4 day stay and wish it was longer! the Lodge is beautiful, spacious and clean with everything you need. The hot tub was a real treat after a day out walking and a big hit with the family. Thank you!

Excellent accommodation

Perfect, ideal for all families. Close to everything you need. Lodge is clean, comfortable and spacious. Hot tub was just the pièce de résistance. Definitely will come again. Correspondence from owner was first class.

Great location and great accommodation

The cabin was well equipped and nice and clean. Nice walks through the woods for the dog. A small welcome pack was included which was a nice touch.

Everyone loved the hot tub, the only problem now is trying to work out how we could have one of our own! I think we will come back next year

We had an absolutely amazing time, not one complaint about the log cabin or the park. The cabin is exactly like the pictures and it is so clean, the bed is so comfy! Would definitely come back

Excellent property, stunning location

On arrival, the property was spotlessly clean. There was really nothing missing as far as self catering goes, the kitchen was extemely well equippped. The lodge was comfortable, cosy as well as modern. The positioning of the property was brilliant, close to the local restaurant, swimming pool and playing area. Hiking and cycling in the area is fantastic with both easy and moderate routes available. We would definately use the property again if holidaying in the area.

Brathay Lodge Our Honeymoon Accommodation

We love the lakes and mountains and found the location of Brathay excellent. Lodge was clean, well equipped and it was great being dog friendly. We had a wonderful honeymoon and thanks for the bubbly and chocs on arrival. We will happily return when we next visit the area and recommend the lodge, pool and site. Shame the pub on site is not dog friendly when so many of the lodges allow dogs to stay. Thanks

The lodge is located 250 yards from the marina on Lake Windermere. Boat launching, kayaking, sailing, water skiing, mountain biking available nearby.

Travel:

White Cross Bay is easily accessible by road or rail. Sat Nav postcode LA23 1LF

Exit M6 junction 36, at roundabout take exit A590 (Kendal, Barrow) A590 becomes A591 continue direction Windermere. Pass Stavely, Ings just before Windermere, straight over mini roundabout direction Ambleside. Follow A591 for approx 2 miles White Cross Bay is on the left (well signed).

Distances:

Windermere, Bowness 2 miles, Ambleside 2 miles. All major attractions and many high quality restaurants and old world character pubs nearby.

Further Details:

Shops, banks, garage, supermarkets, restaurants, pubs in Windermere and Ambleside. Lake District Visitor Centre less than 1 mile. Water sports centre at Low Wood 1 mile. Many lovely walks and bike rides on the doorstep. Mountain bike hire available in Ambleside.
