Property is very easy to find. It is located behind souvenir shop Verige and about eighty meters from the main square.
The things that make Perast a town, regardless its size (today about 250 inhabitants) are the buildings of public character (churches, chapels, palaces, archdiocese, court, town hall, museum, etc.) and also refine level of urban structure. It is full of history, old palaces, churches and villas from the seafaring days of the Venetian Republic when it was the home of wealthy merchants. Perast is only a short drive from the medieval town of Kotor with its walls, cathedrale, shops, bars, restaurants and night-life, 30 minutes from Budva and Herceg Novi and only an hour from Dubrovnik. Our apartment is located in medieval stone villa in waterfront on the middle coast of Perast.
This is really special place with fantastic view of Bay.
Nested in the middle of a beautiful baroque town with direct access to the Adriatic see off the private ponta, this traditional stone house was a perfect destination for our family reunion (5 adults + 2 boys). The outdoor, vine covered pergola provides a great shelter from the summer daze just steps away from the sea, while the open terrace above the souvenir shop becomes a perfect companion to the smallish, but fully functional kitchen for al fresco dining after the sun sets behind the mountain. The rooms on the lower level are smaller, one in particular, but there's plenty of space for indoor activities with kids (TV, video games...) on the big upstairs loft which also features a really nice king size bed.
All rooms have gorgeous views of the sea as well!
Very friendly owner and overall true family experience, just the vibe we were looking for. If you're in town, go say hi to David and his lovely mom!
The next time we are in the area, we will for sure stay here again!
Dubrovnik airport (90 minutes). Tivat airport (30 minutes) has daily flights from Belgrade and a direct flight on summer Saturdays from Heathrow. A car is not essential, but recommended if you would like to explore other towns along the bay. Car hire can be arranged as well as transport to and from the airport.
Kotor is 15 minute drive away, hourly buses will take you into town.
Although there are no sandy beaches in Perast you are free to sun-bath and swim by the many stone jetties along the waterfront. There is stone jet directly in front of house, and guests can use it. The water is very clean and lovely to swim in.
The Adriatic coast is a 30 minute drive with the famous sandy Jaz beach near Budva or if you prefer quieter sandy beaches, these can also be found on Lustica peninsula with its beautiful wild landscape 20 minutes drive from Perast.
Perast is one of the most beautiful waterfront towns in Montenegro, combining both Mediterranean ambiance with Baroque elegance.
Small market is located in Perast (20m from apartment).
Cashpoint, full service grocery and petrol station are located 3km away in Risan. There are several restaurants on the sea in Perast, as well as other fine restaurants along the Bay within 10km each direction.
