Photos and Description of this Kolari holiday cabin

Cabin in Akaslompolo, Lapland, Finland - Peaceful Location, 10 Minutes Walk From Nearest Restaurant & Cross Country Skiing Only Steps Away

Our cosy cabin was built in 2006. It is in a quiet location, perfect for relaxing and re-charging the batteries, or for an active holiday. You can sit in the comfort of the cabin and watch the reindeer walk through the forest or the skiers glide past on the cross country ski track that is near the cabin, all very relaxing. The cabin has it's own sauna which is great at the end of a busy day in the snow.

Suitability:
  • long term rentals available
  • children welcome
  • non smoking only
  • pets not allowed
  • suitable for elderly or infirm

About Jane Warner

My name is Jane I work as a book keeper during the day and run my cabin business in the evenings.

Jane Warner purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Jane Warner chose Lapland

I first visited Lapland in 2005 and fell in love with the village. I purchased the cabin as I felt safe in the village. At first thought I would let the cabin out through the rental company and it would be a good place for me to go and re-charge my batteries. This has all changed and I now organize more of the bookings to the cabin myself. Some of the clients just rent the cabin from me others prefer me to arrange the whole itinerary for them in Lapland.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is located about 1 km from the centre of the village. It is in a quiet location, with views from the back of the cabin into the forest. It has a log fire in the lounge and a sauna, which is really handy after a busy day in the snow.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Jane,

sorry I didn’t write straight away. We want to thank you for a truly fabulous stay. Your advance preparation, itinerary’s, vouchers etc all made it very easy for us and added to the excitement before we left too!

The cabin was beautiful, we loved it, and loved the woods and the peace outside the windows, with the cross country skiers gliding silently past.

Hi Jane

The snow hotel was great. It was our 2nd visit there and its amazing.

The whole holiday was wonderful and thank you for your help and for the rental of the lovely cabin.

Kind regards

Hayle UK

Hi Jane,

The lights were really amazing. We also saw a very big northern lights show further north past Akaslompolo. It was the full curtain from the Eastern to the Western skies. We nearly forgot the cold (-30 that

night) and the show went on for nearly two hours.

The cabin were just beautiful.

Tranquility in the Forest

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was much more than our expectations. Everything was as described in the brochure. From the transfer from the airport, the welcome pack of essentials (tea, coffee etc), the location and the transfer back to the airport all went like clockwork. Although out of season with more reindeer than people, it's the sort of holiday we enjoy. We hired mountain bikes to explore further, as well as walking the xcountry tracks that we have enjoyed in the Winter. The supermarket is well stocked, but only one restaurant TheTower was open. We will definitely recommend the cabin and look forward to returning there ourselves.

Amazing and Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I are always trying to find places of beauty and quietness. This place is one of them. If you are the type of person that wants to get away from daily routines and people go there. The scenery is stunning and you are surrounded by complete nature and serenity. Thereare lots of walks around you and long open roads.

Forrests and lakes are all around you. The cabin is very cosy and has everything you need. A home away from home.

Thank you Jane, we had a really great time!
