This is a beautifully finished, tastefully furnished house set in it's own private 6 acres. Cedar decking flows into landscaped gardens and on into the natural seascape. The sea meets the land in a natural gorge. The house was designed to suit a family with children and works perfectly for a large family or 2 smaller families holidaying together. The spacious kitchen and separate living room allow adults and children space to enjoy separate activities. In good weather the large deck comes into its own as another living/eating area. In bad weather central heating, 2 wood burning stoves, excellent insulation and large picture windows still allow maximum enjoyment of nature at its liveliest. It is perfect for a relaxing break or as a well located base from which to enjoy all the amenities of West Cork. Bird watching, water sports of all descriptions, long walks, historical locations, traditional music sessions, quad biking, tennis, fishing, great and golf are all easily accessible.

Outdoor heated shower. Gas barbecue provided. 2 outdoor tables with benches, deck chairs and outdoor bean bags. Large sea facing lawned garden. Private gorge on the property perfect for exploring in low tide. 6 private acres ensure privacy. No other house in view, just farmland, ocean, rocks, heather, gorse, cows and bird life. A mooring at the local beach can also be hired. Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board, sink. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Luxury White Company linen and towels included and changed weekly. Beach towels provided. Property cleaned weekly and additional cleaning can be arranged at renters' request. Other: Main entrance hall with hanging and shoe storage. Second entrance with hanging, suitable for wet clothing and entry from beach. Split level outdoor deck.

Expectations Surpassed.

First, Mary O’Shea, our guide to property, was a delight. Her energy alone made us all smile. We very much enjoyed and appreciated the residence and the view, the aesthetics in structure and location..a pleasure. Our expectations were strong prior to visit with its original write up, but they were surpassed upon arrival. Residence was well equipped for meal prep as well. A definite favorite in our trip. Thank You!

Spectacular location, amazing views, highly recommended.

The views were mesmerizing. We have a lovely week long stay at this beautifully conceived and executed home. Spacious, well equipped (furnished primarily by Ikea), very comfortable and very private. We spent many an hour sitting on the deck or just inside huge glass doors (when the wind came up or it got a bit chilly). Coming from a large city, the level of quiet was nothing short of astonishing. At night, all you could hear was the bare crashing of the waves in the distance and the occasional night bird. While there were only 2 of us, it is easily large enough to accommodate many more with an additional 2 full size beds (3 in total) and 4 bunks and a full bathroom and a shower room. It had more than spacious enough common space with a huge, well equipped kitchen (even a Le Creuset Dutch oven). The pictures do not do it justice. While the walls are spare, we didn’t come to look at art on a wall, but out the windows to nature, of which there are many.

The property is about a 10 minute drive out of Skibbereen, which has all the services you might need with plenty of dining and shopping options. Depending on the level at which you prefer to shop, from budget to fresh/local, there is Lidl, Aldi, Spar, the local Field’s SuperValu and especially the Saturday Farmer’s Market.

Mary O’Shea, Aine Kelly’s manager, was very accommodating to our arrival time due to a flight cancellation and could not have been kinder or more helpful.

I have only two caveats. First, once there, you’ll never want to leave, even to see the awe-inspiring sites of West Cork. Second is, if you’ve not driven in Ireland, especially in somewhat more rural areas, the road from Skibbereen to the property is exceptionally narrow, at least by American standards, and on quite the opposite side of the road from their American cousins. Patience, caution and a good GPS is all that is required. It was truly amazing to watch Mary navigate the roads with aplomb.

Would we rent this property again? Without hesitation. Highly recommended for physical beauty, solitude and relaxation.

So lovely

We had a wonderful stay and wish it could have been longer! The views were truly a sight to behold and the house had everything one could possibly need for a relaxing good time. The nearby beach provided hours of entertainment for our 6-year old.

Mary (the caretaker) and her son were incredibly nice people and super helpful. The owner was super responsive and great to interact with.

We ❤️ this place. It was our favorite place that we have stayed in a long, long time. We will be back!

Amazing Escape

This Property more than met our expectations. Stella Views! Clean, modern zen interior. Comfortable bed. It was just two people but the house sleeps up to 10. Relaxing location just a minute to the nearby beach. Its also easy to do day trips to other parts of West Cork and when you get back you feel like you have the coast to yourself! It is really close to Skibbereen which has everything you need grocery wise to self cater. We enjoyed dining outside at night overlooking the water and strolling down to the gorge to check on the tides. Great place!

Een fijn huis op een prachtige plek.

We hebben genoten in dit mooie huis met een heel mooi uitzicht. Alles is aanwezig in de keuken. Prima inrichting. Alleen zou ik in de woonkamer een grote hoekbank neerzetten. Daar zijn nu niet voldoende zitplaatsen.

The nearest beach, Tralispean, is 200 meters from the house. It is a small sandy beach in a bay with safe swimming for children, lots of rocks to climb and rock pools to explore. Tragumna beach is 1km from the house. It is a popular small beach with a lifeguard. The surfing beaches of Inchydoney, Owenahincha and Barley cove are all within an hour's drive.


The nearest airport is Cork which is 70km from the house. Rosslare Harbour with ferries from the UK and France is a 3.5 hour drive. A car is essential. Car hire is readily available at Cork airport.


Skibbereen is 5km from the house. Glandore and Union Hall are 15km Baltimore Harbour with access to Sherkin Island, Cape Clear Island and Heir Island is 12km. Cork is 75km and Bantry 20km, Clonakilty 40km and Durrus' the starting point for Sheeps Head walk 25km.

The surfing beaches of Inchidoney, Red Beach and are all within 40 minutes drive Loch Hyne, the deepest salt water and nature reserve in the world is 3km away.

Booking Notes:
A deposit of 50% will be taken at the time of booking. The remainder is due 4 weeks before arrival. We will also take a returnable deposit of Euro 250 upon arrival against damage. Electricity and oil for central heating will be charged separately. A utility deposit of Euro 50 per week will also be taken upon arrival.

Changeover Day:
In high season Saturday is the changeover day. Arrival after 2pm and departure by 10am. In low season flexibility will depend upon existing bookings.
