About Tony Mole

I recently moved back to Cumbria after spending 8 years in the South of France where I set up and ran a property business. Before moving to France I was owner of a graphic design studio and worked for many national and international clients. Ex-rugby player and keen on all sports including skiing, mountain biking, rowing, walking I love the great outdoors so am lucky to have rental properties in both the south of France and the Lake District. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Tony Mole purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Tony Mole chose Troutbeck

I fell in love with the lodge as soon as I walked through the door - the spacious open plan living area, modern contemporary feel and large sunny deck with great views. Adding the hot tub has added a new dimension and is proving very popular !

What makes this cabin unique

Hot tub, high quality French sofas, stylish furnishings and fittings, fabulous location in the heart of the beautiful Lake District close to all major sights and points of interest.

Lovely weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here recently for a long weekend in the lakes for my 40th birthday.

Comms beforehand to arrange with Tony were great and everything was ready and set up when we arrived.

The cabin is excellent and everything we could have wanted was there. The beds were comfy, the french sofas great for relaxing in and we both loved the hot tub.

We also liked the enclosed terrace so our dog could lay outside without being on a lead. The whole of our stay we were blssed with excellent weather which made the stay all the better.

The only bit of advice I'd give, which is independent to this cabin in every way is the meals at the onsite pub arent that good so make sure you have plenty of supplies in or go and eat in Bowness.

Thankyou to Tony the owner for a wonderful stay, you made my birthday special and myself, my partner and our Newfoundland dog all enjoyed it and will book again at some point.

A fantastic Holiday, even better Log Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Myself and my girlfriend have just returned from a fantastic break, we are missing the cabin already. This ultra modern cabin comes decked out with all the mod cons that will ever be needed. It was spotlessly clean and immaculate throughout, it is decorated to a very high standard. The master bedroom come with an en-suite bathroom and walk in wardrobe. And the kids room is more than ample for two. The kitchen has a built in fridge/ freezer and also comes with a dish washer.

The couch and chairs are very comfy and perfect for relaxing in after a long walk. The hot tub is just excellent and is ideal for a relaxing time, it sheltered from all the other cabins for privacy. This was a big plus for me as I really enjoyed the down time. The owner Tony, was really easy to deal with. I would advise anybody looking for Log cabin in the Lake District to consider the Bowness Lodge as I found it to be absolutely stunning and perfect for myself and my partner. We will definitely be returning and we will be recommending this cabin to all our friends. I really cant say enough about this cabin, it even comes with games for all the kids. A truly excellent log cabin. a joy of a break.

Owner's Response: We really appreciate feedback but are struggling to accept the points which were raised in this review. The guests took advantage of a last minute special offer we posted on Facebook for this lodge with private hot tub at a 5 star resort at a bargain price ( it included free use of a luxury health club and spa in nearby Windermere ) so were somewhat surprised with the comments about staying at better places at a cheaper price. The photos are accurate apart from some recent improvements; we brought the sofas over recently from France all fairly new and showing no signs of wear. The lodge had a brand new wooden floor fitted 6 weeks ago. The bedrooms were decorated recently, the new dining furniture is just a few months old. If any guests are unhappy with the cleaning they are requested to call the number clearly displayed in the lodge - our cleaners are very happy to come round within the hour to rectify any issues. We do not know why the guests didn’t call. We want all our guests to enjoy their stay and will always respond very quickly. My cleaners were actually cleaning our lodge next door during their stay. These are the same cleaners with the same high standards who clean all our lodges including the one next door for which we received this review only yesterday …… An amazing place to stay ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had an absolutely fantastic time, the lodge was perfect - clean, homely, spacious & well equipped. The park and the weather were fabulous too! We can't recommend this place enough. Perfect location for day trips out. We will definitely be back next year! Date of arrival 27 August 2016 And we received this email from the guests who left the lodge to which the review refers the day before they arrived… ‘’ On our way home... Beautiful....Will be booking again’’ Thanks for your feedback but as you can see we are having difficulty understanding your comments or to know what improvements we can make, based on comments and reviews from recent guests.

Stunning scenery

  • 5 of 5

Sorry it's taken so long to write a review I thought I had done it ,we had a mid week break my first impressions was WOW, we entered the cabin which was beautifully clean and tidy excellent welcome pack coffee tea biscuits , the hot tub was fab to get into after going out walking for hours , we didn't want to leave so peaceful we live in Somerset and thought our scenery was lovely but it doesn't compare to the Lake District . Will be looking at coming back this year I hope .

Beautiful location, lovely lodge!!

  • 5 of 5

The lodge was lovely!! Well decorated, comfortable, homely, inviting & in a stunning area of tranquility which was far enough from the tourist spots to feel secluded but close enough for convenience. Tony was extremely kind in allowing us to stay on different days than normally scheduled as it was a special occasion and we were very grateful for his generousity in doing so. After the expectations of the lodge and location exceeded our expectations we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and family for a holiday and have already done so since returning. We didn't get to use the hot tub as often as hoped but after a 20 minute minute soak I was glad we had it available. The locals are friendly and quite honestly we would have been happy if we spent all of our time in the lodge as it was so nice to be away from London and just hear the sheep and birds instead of cars and traffic! Thank you Tony, we will certainly consider coming again.

Owner's Response: It's always a real pleasure to receive such a positive review thanks so much for taking the time to tell us about your recent stay at Bowness Lodge. We do our best to accommodate dates that sometimes don't quite fit the usual short breaks timings - just glad things worked out as well as they did. Glad you liked the lodge and the beautiful area that as you say is away from it all but close enough to be convenient. Thanks again !

  • 4 of 5

Limefitt park is in a brilliant location between windermere and ambleside for exploring the lakes! The lodge is very cosy, felt perfectly at home! Clean and tidy on arrival and has everything you need pots and pans etc. Hot tub is absolutely superb! We took our 4 month old son and we found it to be fantastic for a little family holiday! Great communication with Tony the owner. Hoping to come again later in the year!

Limefitt Park is easily accessible from the North or South via the M6 motorway. A car is essential to explore this spectacular area although there is public transport throughout the Lake District.

Award winiing Limefitt Park is well situated to explore the magnificent Lake District National Park with its large variety of places of interest. Windermere and Ambleside are both 3 miles away, lively towns with great pubs, restaurants and shops. Limefitt is in the heart of superb walking country so don't forget to bring your boots !

Further Details:

Although a secluded, tranquil setting, Limefitt Park is close to every facility and convenience. Banks, petrol, supermarkets, shops, pubs, restaurants etc are all within a short (and very scenic !) drive. All outdoor activities are available nearby, mountain biking, sailing, canoeing, pony trekking etc. Limefitt Park is very close to several excellent pubs serving great food and award-winning local beers. Limefitt Lodge, our 3 bed lodge is located next door making the two ideal for large groups or special family occasions.
