South west facing Villa Mandelina is a luxury spacious stone farmhouse restored by the owners (who also own Villa Maslina) to make a fabulous holiday Villa. Spread over three stories each room is unique in design and furnishing with parts of the building dating back 300 years. The bedrooms have been furnished with comfortable beds and all the rooms are very spacious with their own bathrooms. The kitchen is properly equipped ( not at all like a holiday let) and has a big American fridge freezer, oven and hob plus lots of cupboards and work space.A huge dining table seats 12 with views over Tivat bay and the seperate sitting room has Sat TV , books and games and big squashy sofas. It is a great place for groups of friends or large families with 3 bedrooms having a private courtyard and 3 on the top floor. The huge contemporary living space has terraces which overlook the private flat deck pool (8 meters x 4 meters) and the sea. The pool is surrounded by sun terraces for all day sun bathing plus umbrellas for shade. Overlooking the pool is a shaded terrace which has a great bar for those cool drinks, BBQ and table seating 14.. A games room has table tennis , darts and ball games plus badminton in the garden. Secure parking for 5 cars and a large garden add to the sense of space. A footpath leads down to the beach (15 min walk approx ) and the shops and beaches are 5 mins by

Hugh and Gail Chapman have restored Villas Mandelina, Maslina and Josephina during the 8 years they have been living in Montenegro. You can be sure that the Villas are maintained to the highest standards as we live in the same village. Montenegro is a great country to holiday or live very relaxed and unspoilt. If you rent one of our Villas you can be sure we will give you a terrific holiday !
Gail Chapman: firstname.lastname@example.org purchased this villa in 2011
All our Villas have history and tradition going back 300 years. We have lovingly restored them using local craftsmen and all the stone is originally from the tumble down wrecks that we bought. We chose this location as it is not remote you can easily get to the shops and beaches and of course for the fantastic views of the Coastline and Lovcen mountain range. We could not help loving the Lustica Peninsular !
I think this question is answered in the above box but the main benefit to a holiday maker is Location and this property has it in buckets !
2015 will be the third season we have welcomed guests to Villa Mandelina which was fully booked in 2014 . We also own Villa Maslina which has been fully booked through Owners Direct for the past 3 seasons. See reviews guests have kindly posted.
The best equipped and cleanest house we have stayed in. Comfort, style, peace and everything you could want. Pool was the cleanest we have swum in and views over Tivat were breath taking. Despite being the annoying kind of guests who ask a new question every day, Hugh and Gail were helpful and prompt in assisting us! All rooms were equally lovely, though it was very hot in the upstairs bedrooms! All the games mentioned were available and fully stocked and there were plenty of sun loungers for everyone. Annoying things we have encountered in previous villas have been inadequate fridge size and bin...not an issue at Mandelina! We loved Montenegro; beautiful scenery, delicious food and cheap to boot. Though we rarely return to the same place, we may well break the rule for Montenegro and another of Gail and Hugh's villas. Thank you.
This was our second stay at Gail & Hugh's BEAUTIFUL villa....... and once again we had the most wonderful holiday.
Mandelina is an absolute gem...... the location is amazing, the views are out of this world..... and the villa itself is faultless. It is unbelievably clean and literally has everything you need.
As for the hosts...... well they are wonderful too! So kind & helpful....... always on hand but never intrusive.
Montenegro is stunning and WHEN we come back again, there's only one place we will be staying (for the third time!!!).
Thanks again Gail & Hugh.
We've not long been back from having had a fantastic week at Mandelina. The villa itself is absolutely beautiful and has been so well done. It is clean, well maintained and has brilliant facilities. Hugh & Gail are the most wonderful owners.......they have been sooooooo helpful, from the very beginning of initially making our booking, right up until he waved us goodbye at the airport! They are not intrusive at all, and yet are on hand to help and advise with any queries/advice whatsoever. It was a first trip for us to Montenegro and we will definitely be back!......... and Mandelina will without doubt, be our choice of accommodation!! Thanks again!!! 5 stars!!
We holidayed at the villa during May 2015 and we had a really wonderful stay, I really hope we can go back again! The property is very well equipped and beautifully decorated - we really didn't want to leave! As a large group of friends it gave us everything we wanted, the pool, darts board and tables tennis table provided hours of entertainment! I'd highly recommend a stay at this property and a visit to Montenegro. The food was excellent both locally and slightly further afield with many great places to visit. There is plenty to see and do in such beautiful surroundings. Thank you so much for such a memorable holiday!!!
I can only echo the previous reviews, this is a fantastic villa, spacious and extremely well equipped for large parties. There really was everything we needed and more. Comfortable beds and excellent bathrooms.
Arrived to find everything pristine and delicious supper (previously ordered) in fridge. The house was cleaned midweek and the pool kept in tiptop condition. The owners are perfect hosts, informative and helpful when asked, but not at all intrusive.
So much to see, and fairly hard to drag ourselves away from the many sunloungers, but recommended trips include:
Driving through Krasici and on up the peninsula, with fabulous views, to charming Rose and lunch in sunshine overlooking the bay. Back along narrow lanes between deep stone walls and olive groves.
Many trips to Plavi Horizonte beach, an easy 15 minute walk. Beautiful sandy beach, warm shallow water for swimming, and a great cafe - delicious grilled mussels and kalamari for 5 euros.
We hired a boat for the day and were taken around the bay, past Tivat and Lepetane to the islands in the Bay of Kotor, then to Perast for lunch. Would highly recommend Hotel Conte for an inexpensive special treat.
Take the spectacular mountain road from Kotor through Lovcen National Park to Cetinje - one breathtaking view after another.
So much more to see ............. have already booked for next year!
Wherever we went, the locals were helpful and friendly and we enjoyed simple, but very good, food and wine. A truly memorable holiday!
We have just returned from two weeks in this villa, already wishing we were back. We were 9 people in total and for the first time in many years we had more than enough space. This villa genuinely does accommodate lots of people. It is finished to the highest standard and has more than enough of everything you need. We kept trying to catch them out by searching for kitchen utensils but never managed it, there is everything here in abundance. The beds are comfy and the bathrooms are great. The villa has spectacular views and the whole area is breathtaking. It is easy to get into Budva, Kotor, Tivat or to explore the fabulous lustica peninsular. We would highly recommend this villa.
Special interest holidays:

How about a foodie holiday - ideal for early season! we have a great trail around the coast and Lovcen National Park which can either be guided or self guided.
Villa Mandelina is 5 minutes in the car and a 15 mins downhill walk on a footpath to our nearest beach - Plavi Horizonte a safe sandy beach great for children with a cafe and ice creams. Two Sunbeds & Umbrella with a small charge per day. The Peninsular has other local beaches at Oblatno (very cool) Mirista (pebbly, good restaurant) Zigi (young crowd plus yachts) Zanije (catch a boat to the Blue Cave plus loads of cafes and good fish). There are lots of other coves and smaller pebbly beaches.
Tivat airport is 20 mins drive flights from London Gatwick and several flights a week from Russia. Ryan Air flys Stansted / Podgorica in MNE. Dubrovnik which is 1 to 1.5 hr depending on traffic has flights from all over Europe and from most UK airports. Operators include BA, Easy Jet , Monarch etc. Bar the nearest Port is 50 mins. We strongly recommend a car for pottering about as most of the main spots in Montenegro are within a 30 minute drive making the Villa a great base for touring.
