The 11 x 7 pure water heated pool has a gentle beach entry - perfect for the younger members of your party to enjoy splashing in warm water! Set in the centre of a beautiful cobbled courtyard with a covered & shady 'outdoor' lounge to one side. Enjoy views of the courtyard & pool to one side and the countryside to the other.

Set just off the courtyard is a newly installed 'fitness' suite for your use - with rowing machine, exercise bike, spa & sauna - perfect every day, even better to help you relax after a hard day's sight seeing!

We are perfectly set up for children of all ages from babies through to teenagers with everything from cots & high chairs through to climbing frame, badminton & table tennis.

About Kim Zinck

I moved permanently to this corner of France with my three children then aged 8,9,10 at the beginning of 2001.

The Farm complex I bought was a derelict ruin. It has taken more than ten years to completely restore it.I learnt French and married a French man along the way.

The children have now grown and flown the nest. This is now their holiday home.

My husband and I both work and decided to rent as it seems a shame that the house and pool remain unused for most of the time.

Why Kim Zinck chose Lot-et-Garonne

The lot et garonne is rural without being remote. Its people have the reputation for being the most welcoming department in France.Something I have found to be very true.

The area is steeped in history with many pretty villages, It is still very agricultural and there are not the tourist crowds found elsewhere.

What makes this farmhouse unique

The buildings are set on a hilltop with far reaching panoramic views in nearly every direction. There are no near neighbours the only noise comes from the chickens or the tree frogs.

Great family holiday house

We had a fantastic holiday at Rambeau, the owners made us very welcome, providing everything we could need for a great family holiday. The house and pool were well maintained and spotless. With 9 adults, a 5 & a 3 year old plus two 6 month old babies, the house and pool were ideal. The beach style of the pool in particular was great for the children. Kim had recommended various activities for our stay & we went to the night market in nearby Laparade which is not to be missed, as is lunch at the local butcher. The whole property has been really well designed to provide an ideal holiday and we will definitely be back!

Relaxing holiday at Rambeau

This was our second consecutive stay at Rambeau and if anything it was even more relaxing this time. We ate all our meals outside except one breakfast, either in the poolside shaded area or at the big table outside the house facing the fields, and we used the barbecue most evenings. The pool area is lovely and the spa room an added bonus.

Inside, there is ample space for a large family - there are nine of us - with plenty of bathroom facilities for three generations.

The house is set in a quiet, rural area but with easy access to local towns including Laparade where we enjoyed another evening at the night market. We also visited a river beach/park where there are lifeguards in attendance and this time took a trip to visit a chocolate factory.

Kim and her husband made us very welcome and did everything to ensure we enjoyed our stay.

We have already recommended this property to a friend who has subsequently made a booking.

Rambeau delight

What a fantastic stay. Three families in our group (6 adults and 4 kids 11 to 14 yrs) arrived on the Saturday for a fun week together. The location is stunning,great views of rolling countryside and fields full of sunflowers,peaceful and relaxing. The kids went straight to the pool as did some adults, a fabulous pool well looked after, plenty of room for sunbathing. Sharing the pool with the B&B guests was no problem. Our accommodation was a barn conversion which was great, the kitchen had everything you'd expect,a large dining table inside and outside,plenty of lounge seating,the 5 bedrooms were great, all had nice en suites. The owner (Kim) was very welcoming and helped us arrange a visit to a local vinyard, she also told us about the local night markets(both of these are a must thing to do). The local restaurants are excellent, very good value, a supermarket 10 minutes drive away was great for provisions.The weather was great all week,trips to the local water park and a drive to sarlat in between relaxing by the pool kept everybody happy. Will definetly recommend this to our friends.Fabulous holiday, hope to return again. Thanks Kim

Family holiday at Rambeau

A beautifully converted property which was very well appointed for a relaxing family stay. The en-suite rooms were very comfortable and suited our party perfectly. The pool and spa were amazing and provided hours of entertainment for everyone. The security lock on the pool side door was a thoughtful safety feature. Exploring the local surroundings was made easier by the extensive and up to date information provided to us before our arrival from Kim. The evening market and meal at the restaurant in Laparade were particular favourites. Kim made our stay easy and comfortable for our family and the daily delivery of bread and pastries was a very welcome luxury. The children enjoyed meeting Picasso, Kim's pig and feeding him each morning. We would love to return to this beautiful property in the future.

Families holiday

The facilities at the property are superb. There were three families of six adults and 4 kids staying for a week. 42 degrees! great poo,l with clean water and no chlorine. The views from the property were amazing, fields of bright yellow sunflowers. Kim arranged a wine tasting session for us which involved a short tour around a vineyard and farm buildings. An explanation as to how they made the wine then tasting. Kim also advised us of the local festivals and restaurants. A visit to sarlat and rocamodour is a must. Would certainly recommend to anyone.

Best family holiday in years

We stayed here with our family, 12 of us in all, and had the most amazing time. Everything was just perfect: plenty of space; beautiful surroundings; well equipped; clean and well organised; fantastic pool. Kim and her family looked after us extremely well and we felt very welcome. We could not have asked for anything more ... We will definitely visit again.

This is a fabulous area for self guided walking holidays. The Lot and Garonne has almost 400 self guided walks - we are able to provide suggestions for every level of fitness.

VTT Bike trails throughout the department - perfect for intrepid off roaders & gentle cyclists alike.

Coast/Beach:

The house is perfectly located for the river beach at Castelmoron-sur-Lot. Open from June to September with cordoned swimming area and lifeguard every afternoon (swimming at your own risk at other times!). Pedalo, electric boat, canoe & kayak hire on site. There is a small café just above the beach for snacks & ice creams - or take your own and picnic on the beach.

Travel:

Closest airports are Bergerac 40 minutes away. Bordeaux 1 hour 30minutes away and Toulouse 1 hour 40 minutes away. The nearest ferry port is st Malo a 7/8 hour Dunkerque and Calais are about 10/11 hours away.

The house is close to the village of Castelmoron 5 minutes by car. A car is essential.

Distances:

The market village of Castelmoron is 6 kms away. The larger bastide town of Villeneuve on the Lot is just a short drive away & Agen the capital of the department with its charming 17 century houses good selection of restaurants and museums is 40 minutes away.

Domaine de Rambeau is perfectly located in the midst of many beautiful bastide villages including Monflanquin, Eymet, Pujols, Penne d'Agenais, Villereal & Issigeac.

Local Chateaux include Bonaguil, Biron, Bridoire & Duras.

Further Details:

Shops in the smaller villages are traditionally closed on Mondays although the supermarkets in the larger towns are open. Smaller shops are open from 9 to 12.00 or 12.30 reopening from 14.00 to 19.00. Most local villages and towns have a weekly market. During the summer months of July and August evening farmers markets are held with food music and entertainment. Always very popular. During summer months a beach is installed on the bend of the Lot at Castelmoron- 5 minutes away, where electric boats and pedalos can be hired. You can also canoe from here. The lot et garonne has its share of ruined castles in beautiful locations the best known are Bonaguil Gavaudun and Nerac all within easy driving distance. However the area is best known for its bastide villages, pretty fortified villages built at key cross roads where the focal point was no longer the lords château but the market square. this is still the case today.

Horse riding is available (15 minutes away) as is the chance to try a microlight flight from Europe largest micro light base at Granges sur lot.

There are many excellent reasonably priced restaurants. Normally at least one in every village. Traditional Lot et Garonne cuisine includes pate de foie gras and magret de canard (duck breast)

Notes on accommodation: The house is arranged on two floors. On the first floor are four bedrooms. Two doubles, a twin & a triple each with en suite bathrooms. On the ground floor is the open plan kitchen, lounge, dining area and an additional double bedroom with en suite bathroom. Off the living area is a utility room with toilet. The house is tiled throughout with underfloor heating. The first floor has the original windows onto the courtyard and additional solar powered velux windows in the roof. Outside: The pool is 11 metres by 7 metres at its widest point with a gentle sloping beach to the swimming area. The pool is heated and the water treated by Oxyneo. No chemicals or salt, the pool water is pure enough to drink! There are spa jets in the pool a dive well and swim against current. There is a covered seating area by the pool and outside the gite is a private terrace with BBQ area, table and seating overlooking the valley. The pool may also be occasionally used by guests staying in the main house which we offer as a luxury boutique hotel. Utility Room: In the utility room is the washing machine and a large hand wash sink plus an additional toilet. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bedding are included in the rental together with towels for the pool. Bedding and towels are changed weekly. The property is cleaned between tenants. Additional cleaning services during or at the end of stay are available on request.
