This is a luxuriously furnished studio apartment, measuring approximately 28m2, that sleeps four via a double sofa bed and two single bunk beds in an alcove, that was recently fully fitted with new furniture and appliances. There is FREE WiFi internet access in the apartment as well as a widescreen TV with French and ENGLISH TV via Sky. The property has a balcony with access to a shared garden and has a lovely view of the Vanoise mountain peak. At residence Cybele in Brides Les Bains, guests have free access (via a code, obtainable from reception) to an indoor, heated swimming pool with jacuzzi and, during reception hours, a games room with pool table, video games and pin -ball. There is a bar and restaurant in the residence with the option of half-board if required. Other useful services include a laundry, a ski equipment shop and ski lockers. Based in the beautiful town of Brides les Bains, with its river and bridges, it offers easy and quick access to the vast 3 Vallees skiing.
I'm in a long-term relationship but was previously single and that was never a problem with skiing as it's easy to meet people on the slopes and in the town as it's such a friendly place. I look forward to going back there several times a year, both summer and winter, and catching up with people I know as well as making new friends and have now introduced my partner to the sport. I sometimes ski with the Ski Club of UK as that's quite sociable for skiing, lunch and the essential apres-ski unless the skiing such a large area has exhausted me by the end of the day!
Nicki Reynolds purchased this apartment in 2008
I bought my apartment in 2008 and used it for the first time that summer. I immediately fell in love with the town and its laid back but active atmosphere with all its bars and restaurants, beautiful mountain and riverside walks, the many bridges and views of the white water, the local park and knowing I could be active all day or just relax, drink coffee and people watch and it didn't matter which.
I skied at Meribel and beyond the following winter, when Brides also had heavy snow, and was impressed with the vastness of the linked area (in fact, 4 valleys are linked these days) but also the easy accessibility. I tend to take the gondola up when the roads are snowy but, otherwise, drive up to Meribel Village or Le Raffort where parking is free. I now ski there at least twice a year!
I love the fact that staying in Brides les Bains makes skiing the Three Valleys cost-effective but accessibility is not compromised and I appreciate the luxury of my apartment so it always feels like a treat to stay there. Everything you need is on hand, either there or in the town, and it makes a lovely change from more regimented catered chalets as you can eat where and when you like.
I love Brides just as much in the summer as it is such a beautiful, quintessentially French spa town and you lose count of the number of other walkers offering a 'bonjour' when you're out and about. The views are second to none and I always come back to the UK completely refreshed and looking forward to going back to my special retreat in France.
We stayed at Les Cybeles apartments in June for some warm sunshine and some gorgeous scenery. The mountain views all around are superb as are the natural spring rivers running through the town, you can even fill up your water bottles with free spring water! There are lots of different walks around for all levels of fitness, through little mountain villages and more rugged walks along the mountainsides. There is a lovely park at one end of the town where the locals play boules and we went to an evening music concert as well which was crowded with locals and tourists, a brilliant atmosphere. Plenty of bars, restaurants and local produce in shops as well as a casino and spa. The apartment was clean and modern with a balcony where we had breakfast in the sun. We hired a car and so were able to go higher up the mountains to visit Meribel and other lovely villages. We also went to the lakes and spent a day sunbathing and swimming in the clear water.
The property is homely and provided an excellent base for our skiing holiday. Just a short walk to a good choice of restaurants and the telecabin to Meribel.
The apartment was cosy and Nicki made it easy for us with the information provided.
We will definitely be back. Thanks
Everything you need in an appartment in fantastic ski location only 20 mins from three valleys on the gondola.
Great apartment with home comforts of British tv and wifi, with the added bonus of access to a pool and sauna (8 euros for exclusive use of sauna). Very dog friendly - there is an exit at the end of the corridor that you can use to safely let your dog out. We drove up the mountain each day (20 minutes) and had a great tip from the owner to park for free in Meribel Village - we could literally ski back to the carpark. Added bonus of carparking under the building. Would definitely recommend and are booking for next year.
Had a wonderful couple of nights in Brides. Apartment was comfortable and well located giving us access to great skiing in the Trois Vallee. Would stay here again
Nicki accurately describes the accommodation and location. Brides Les Bains is a quiet village and provides easy access to the slopes; we drove each day to Meribel Centre so that we could ski straight back to our car after a long day skiing. the pool is open until 6:30 each day.
The studio was exactly as described, its compact but we managed 1 adult and 3 kids. car parking in the basement underground car park was very convenient too. We would definitely go to Nicki's apartment again and recommend it for affordable accommodation within the 3 valleys resort
We found the apartment to be exactly as described. Brides les Bains is a good location for affordable skiing. The internet connection was of a high standard and very useful. The owner very helpful. I would recommend.
Special interest holidays:
In the summer, Brides les Bains is renowned for its spa facilities, with its local alpine water and local restaurants cater to people on a health break. Walking holidays are very popular and the local tourist office provides details of local mountain and riverside trails. There is a golf course at Meribel and fishing facilities at the lake in nearby Bozel. Bozel is also a National Park area with sighting of wildlife available.
There is a beautiful fishing/swimming lake and sunbathing area at Bozel which is about 10 minutes by car.
Car hire is not essential as, in winter, there is easy access to Meribel by local or shuttle bus and the Olympic Gondola and, in summer, there are plenty of walks around Brides to keep anyone occupied and there are also buses to Courchevel, Moutiers and Bozel. However, a car would offer easier access further afield to places such as Annecy. The nearest airports are Grenoble, Chambery and Geneva, maximum two hours drive.
Bozel and Moutiers are each around 10 to 15 minutes' drive with Meribel being around 20 minutes' drive. Annecy is about one hour, 20 minutes away.
Residence Cybele was originally built to accommodate athletes during the 1992 Winter Olympics and has recently undergone extensive refurbishment.
There are a number of restaurants and pubs in Brides les Bains so you can choose to apres ski within walking distance of your apartment. There are also several shops providing day to day groceries and ski equipment/clothing, including a ski rental shop at the residence itself which offers good discounts on hire. Breakfast (croissants etc) can also be purchased in the restaurant opposite every morning.
If you have a car then there is a large Carrefour in nearby Moutiers which offers great savings on local prices and there is also a supermarket nearer to Brides les Bains, on the main road on the way to Moutiers.
Lift pass prices for skiers staying in Brides-les-Bains include access to the gondola and these can be purchased in-resort or in advance.
In the summer, this is a great location for hill walking, cycling, tennis (facilities in the town and in nearby Moutiers) and river-rafting. Brides les Bains is a genuine dual season resort so is as busy in summer as in winter. It is known for its spa facilities and, in the summer, local restaurants offer calorie controlled menus! The local water is free and comes highly recommended!
Other activities in Brides les Bains include a fitness/spa centre with hammam, saunas, treatments and whirlpool, cinema, night clubs, a casino, bars and restaurants...

Notes on prices:
The prices do not include the cost of linen or towels hire which is optional. They do include the provision of parking, swimming pool/jacuzzi, satellite TV with French, German and English channels, via Ski, as well as unlimited WiFi from the apartment.
I have tried to make my prices competitive, especially given all the extras I have included, but if want to make me an offer, particularly in low season, please go ahead!
