This lovely cottage absolutely lived up to positive reviews it has received. The cottage is beautifully equipped, in a picturesque and quiet location, surrounded by the wonderful scent of pine trees. The owners have not skimped on any aspect - with a lovely private pool, and all mod cons available. Thanks to Sheila for her quiet attentiveness, and to Eric for sorting out the WiFi. Given that there was a family wedding the week we were there, we never felt isolated, nor did we ever feel our privacy was compromised. Quite simply, lovely owners, lovely cottage, lovely location. Just hope to repeat the experience sometime soon.

Book it!!
My husband and I had a wonderful 3 week stay in June - July 2014. Lovely quiet location, nice pool and gardens. Fully equipped stone cottage, in the heart of the countryside. Perfect base for exploring the coast and inland. Lorgues is a traditional town, unspoilt by mass tourism, with all amenities. Sheila, the owner was on hand, and extremely helpful, if you need her, but not obtrusive.

About the host

Host profile image
Sheila has lived in Provence for over 20 years. Originally from Limerick, Ireland, Sheila loves the climate, her garden and just the peaceful lifestyle she and her family enjoy in Provence. Sheila is married to Jeff and they have a son, Eric and two dogs.

Why they chose this property

We bought a place in Provence because we love the area. We are surrounded by forests and vineyards and very old Medieval villages. The area is full of character and there is nothing like eating out at night in the local restaurants especially if they have dining in summer gardens.

All the local villages have a 'market day' which are always a real delight, full of character, colour and fantastic foods and smells!

Every Tuesday morning Lorgues has the second largest market in Provence.

You can also visit numerous local vineyards and sample wines all day long without any obligation to buy!

The coast gets very crowded in the Summer but being inland a bit lets you drop down to the coast when you want- and that suits us.

Lorgues is now one of the most popular areas in Provence

What makes this property unique

Our ' visitors cottage' offers a lot for a small property. It is completely enclosed and very private, it is very quiet and peaceful and being south facing it is a 'sun trap' in the summer.

We have renovated the property this year, put in a new pool, new patio's ,installed a new kitchen, many new appliances, new furnishings and air conditioning. It has been completely redecorated. It is small but perfect for a couple or a family with 2 young children.
