Lovely retreat
Beautiful setting, much more than a holiday let. This is a comfortable home, full of history and charm. Spectacular views across the hills with Todi in the distance. The owners/managers are very attentive making the stay very relaxed. Excellent all round.
A lovely villa, owned by lovely people, in a lovely place !
We were delighted with our holiday; the villa was lovely and clean and came with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The owners were very welcoming and attentive and sorted out any questions immediately. The area is a delight for a relaxing break, but with plenty of places to go and visit within striking distance. I would say a car is a must, but Grutti is within walking distance (take a torch for the walk back) and has a great restaurant in it (Le Noci). There are lots of great local towns and villages to visit, and everyone was very welcoming and all our dining experiences were top notch. Lovely views, a great pool, big BBQ to cook on. Highly recommended all round.
Lovely family holiday
We got a really nice warm welcome. The house is really pretty with lots of garden and a lovely pool with amazing views across the valley with the beautiful town of Todi in the distance. We trekked behind the house, visited local churches and gorgeous nearby towns. I had a coffee every morning in the charming village of Grutti. What a relaxing enjoyable holiday.
A charming rural villa with a stunning view
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Villa Le Ginestre. The villa was well equipped and very comfortable, and the view was glorious. The pool was super and provided welcome relief from the heat. Everything was well maintained and in good working order. We would happily stay there again. Umbria as a whole was delightful and we stumbled upon a lovely restaurant in Bevagna, the Ristorante delle Mura - the meals we had there were simply delicious. The pasta at Le Noci in Grutti itself is also excellent. For shopping, we found the EMI in Bastardo the most convenient. Umbria has much to recommend it as a holiday destination if peace and quiet is what you need.
Truly wonderful house with breathtaking views
This was my second stay at Le Genestre and I know I will be back again. We were met at this outstanding property by Bruno
, Mila their children and Bruno's parents. The children bought me roses and Bruno's mother gave my husband and I a wonderful home made chicken salad and a large basket of fresh fruit, what a welcome and what a truly wonderful start to our 3 week vacation. The house itself is comfortable with a wonderful dining room and a well stocked kitchen. As far as appliances and dishes go, every thing you need is supplied. The house and pool were very well maintained during our stay. We took many day trips to the surrounding Umbrian countryside all of them wonderful, we would highly recommend Assisi, Spoleto, Bevagna, Todi, Montefalco, Deruta and Perugia. Our favorite restaurant was in Montefalco its called L'Alchimista don't miss a visit here the service and the food are outstanding, another great restaurant is ristorante Ferrari in Perugia, ask for an outside table on Corsa Vannucci, its a wonderful street for people watching. Only a few minute drive from Grutti in San Terenziano is a wonderful little restaurant called Ristorante Il Buongustaio the chef- owner is so welcoming, the food is very good and the prices are very reasonable. For all grocery needs its only a short dive to Todi and the well stocked EMI supermarket.
We can't say enough about our visit to Umbria and Le Genestre it was a truly wonderful vacation, we are already talking about our next visit.
Home away from home. Peaceful and breathtaking views.
Gloria met us at the villa when we arrived very late. She had prepared some food for us and left a bottle of wine which was very thoughtful. Villa is lovely, comfortable and has everything you could need. Real home away from home.
Fabulous pool and outdoor bbq area under a pergola covered by grape vines. Perfect for al fresco dining under the stars. Views are just amazing. Highly recommend this villa if you really need to get away from it all and totally wind down and relax. We didn't do to much sightseeing other than a day out to Todi and Oriveto,as the pool and the villa were just to lovely to leave.
