About Emma Wadey

My husband and I, along with our two small children escaped our hectic city lives to find a little piece of rural paradise back in 2011. And it has not disappointed.

This is the 4th house we have renovated personally (and the first time we have done it both in a foreign country and with toddlers; a challenge in itself!) but we have loved the adventure of uncovering the history and story of the building. We have also strived to restore it sympathically whilst giving it a contemporary feel (with the advantage that my husband is a carpenter and joiner, we have tried to make most design elements as bespoke and tailored as possible).

Emma Wadey purchased this farmhouse in 2011

Why Emma Wadey chose Lot-et-Garonne

When we found the farmhouse we really fell in love with the unspoilt charm of the place. We just wanted to draw out it's potential.

It was only once we moved here that we realised how conveniently situated it is both from an amenity and accessibility perspective. Villereal is also unusually a fully functioning town which isn't solely dependent on tourists; so spending time here allows guests to have a real taste of South West France while being able to access the wide range of attractions that are within easy reach.

We spend hours exploring the land, love choosing the fresh local produce at the market and being able to go for a dip in the pool whenever they fancy cooling off. We feel privileged to share this experience with our guests and know you'll fall in love with the place too.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Despite it's quiet, rural location, the property is just a 20 minute walk from a great family restaurant and perfectly situated to easily access all that the area offers. However, there is such a range of facilities offered that it's easy to spend days just enjoying your time at the farmhouse, whether it's having a dip in the pool, exploring the 10 acres of grounds, fishing, utilising all the different games facilities offered or taking in an outdoor film or match on our 3m HD projector, not to mention enjoying the fine wine and gourmet food that the area offers.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a marvellous holiday in this excellent accommodation, which suited all our needs. It's in a brilliant, quiet location close to Villereal which has great markets. The house is perfect for children with marvelous facilities, combined with being close to the airport. The hosts were lovely too and have delightful children.

The Hart family, July 2013

We have had a wonderful relaxing holiday. The private, traditional farmhouse has been finished and furnished to a high standard and the facilities provided are excellent (especially for children). The owners are very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend Lascorades for any family looking for a traditional French farmhouse holiday with great facilities.

The Coulter family, July 2013

We've enjoyed a wonderful two weeks. The farmhouse is fantastic; well equipt, beautifully furnished and in a great location close to many interesting attractions and villages.

Beautiful property in a wonderful area

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful property. It has everything you need for a lovely stay. The owners were extremely helpful, sourcing and booking restaurants for us. Our daughter has coeliacs which always makes travelling difficult but Emma sourced restaurants able to cater for her and the welcome pack included food suitable for her. The gardens and swimming pool area are fantastic both for children and adults. The local area stunning and the surrounding villages and towns a must to visit. If you want a beautiful property, in a wonderful area with fantastic and helpful owners then I recommend this one.

Absolutely fantastic holiday!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week in June 2017 and couldn't recommend it highly enough. The house has been beautifully renovated and is extremely well equipped for a great family holiday. The bedrooms are spacious, the kitchen is a great space and the selection of toys that Emma had kindly selected for the children werw was perfect (they were 9 months,  nearly 2, 4 and nearly 4). They loved playing in the pool, in the shade on the see saw and trampoline and in the house.

Emma and Craig were lovely hosts and were always on hand to answer our queries about directions and places to eat etc without being intrusive.

The short journey from Bergerac airport was a bonus, and if you're looking for a hassle free family holiday, this is the place for you!

We had a great time here

  • 5 of 5

We (6 adults and 2 children) stayed in the house for a week in early August and enjoyed everything about being here .

It's quiet , comfortable and a great place for a relaxing holiday . The bedrooms are large and ensuite ,The kitchen has plenty of room for everyone to sit in and eat . There are 2 sitting rooms for reading or watching TV . There are also 2 outside dining tables and a covered area for relaxing . The pool is excellent quality and with space for several sun loungers .

The house is surrounded by fields and is wonderfully quiet but you will need a car for visits to restaurants , supermarkets or other activities.

The owners were excellent in helping us set up the holiday via owners direct and were on hand to help us settle in on arrival .

Such a peaceful place to relax

  • 5 of 5

Emma and Craig have created a wonderful tranquil holiday home in a beautiful area with plenty to do. We spent two weeks relaxing and exploring, with three young children under 5 travelling can be stressful: This Gite has everything you could ask for to keep a family of children happy for weeks. The playroom, outside play area, safe pool and lovely grounds provided hours of exploration and fun. There is plenty to do within a 30 minute drive and I'd challenge anyone to exhaust all of the local sights within a two week holiday. We will be back!
