Lovely clean and tidy cottage, great walk over the moors
Glad you had a great stay with us. Hope to see you again soon!
peaceful and tranquil setting
The coach house is ideally situated to be able to explore the moors. It is short walk down the hill into the village. We ate at the London Inn which had a very friendly host and the food was good. The property is furnished with everything you need and is such a quaint little place to stay.
Glad you enjoyed your stay with us.
Hope to see you again soon!
A great place to get away from it all!!
I stayed here for two nights and really loved the place. It is cosy and had everything I needed to be comfortable and feel at home; the kitchen was well equipped and the bed was incredibly comfortable. It was wonderfully peaceful, with a friendly dog and cat who said hello which was lovely! I would definitely return in the future.
Loved the coach house, very homely.
Hi Julie, coach house and garden were perfect for the dogs off the beaten track and great to meet Twiggy. Dartmoor is amazing we loved it, so much to explore, not enough time, we will be back, really enjoyed our stay didn't want to leave!
Debbie and Paddy
Thanks for your review. Hope to see you both again soon 😊
Nice comfy cottage away from it all .
We were welcomed by there very friendly dog twiggy I think his name was .The cottage was clean and comfortable. All you needed for a relaxing break away. 5 mins walk up the road and you where entering Dartmoor park 5 mins in the car to the supermarkets of Tavistock. The key was left in the door we never meet the owners . A bit of mustyness and few spiders but really what else would you expect you are in the country after all .with beautiful surroundings away from it all. The fenced in garden was good we could relax knowing our dog was safe and could not run off she made friends with twiggy we had to hide the tennis balls ( still in coat pocket on door ) it s not very often we go back to a place a second time but maybe with this cottage we will one day really enjoyed it . An option to add WiFi would be good as there’s no phone signal till you get up on the moors thank you
Glad you both enjoyed your stay with us. We hope you come back again someday! 😊
Charming and peaceful cottage on the edge of Dartmoor. Ideal for a relaxing mini break.
Full of character. Snug sitting room with wood burning stove ( may need to get wood for) and smal but fully equipped kitchen. Good pubs in the local village ( 5 mins walk)
Glad you enjoyed your stay in the coach house!
We provide the first basket of logs, usually during the winter months.
Hope to see you again soon 😊

Plymouth is the nearest city and is just 12 miles away and it has a real metroploitan buzz. Steeped in history and linked to SIr Francis Drake and the Pilgrim Fathers, it also has a great harbour and lots of things to do. Check out the superb marine aquarium, go ice skating, or visit Drakes Shopping Mall. The village of Horrabridge is a 5 minute walk down the hill. The nearest town of Tavistock is a 10 minute drive.
Staying at Monkswell you will be in easy reach (3.0 miles) of visiting the dramatic landscapes of Dartmoor used in Steven Spielburgs latest film The War Horse.

Lydford Gorge is one of Devon's gems...it's the deepest gorge in the whole of the south West, and it's surrounded by ancient woodland.
The river Lyd at this stretch is fast flowing, and the gorge features two "must see" attractions - the White Lady Waterfall and Devil's Cauldron.
