About Sheila Dickson

We are originally from the UK but have lived in Australia and Asia for the most part of 20 years. We are an active family who enjoy all types of sports, love to entertain and be entertained. We work hard and so found having a beach destination holiday home the perfect solution to balance. We have been travelling to Phuket for over 10 years now but only discovered Kata about 5 years ago and what a find it was. There is something very unique about the South of the island, it has more of a European feel to it than anywhere else in Phuket. The lovely views across the Andaman Sea with its cooling breeze, the beach side restaurants and the relaxed atmosphere makes it a very special part of the world which we love.

Why Sheila Dickson chose Phuket

We lived in Singapore for 14 years and is only 1.5 hours from Phuket and has everything we could want in a family holiday close to home. We used to leave Singapore at 6.30pm with the 1 hour time change we arrive in Phuket by 7.00pm. Pick up a hire car and are generally pulling up outside our property at about 8.30pm.

Our property is spacious, well thought out and very relaxing with plenty of areas to enjoy the quite surroundings of the Condo. Often when I go to our place in Kata I just relax reading a book by our pool and yet I know if I want it I have so many activities only a few minutes away.

The Kata area has everything to keep the entire family happy Golf, Water Sports, beaches, good food, shopping spa treatments etc..

What makes this condo unique

What we enjoy the most about going to our property is the fact that even though we are a big family there is space for us all to enjoy being in each others company without feeling we are on top of each other. There are 3 separate outdoor areas and 3 different parts of the living area for everyone to feel very comfortable. The main salt water swimming pool is a good few stairs down from our Penthouse but is worth it once you are there. The gym, jacuzzi, and sauna's are all in the same area and is never busy. This is a really tranquil place to holiday if you need to relax but has everything so close by if you want an adventurous, sporty or touristy holiday. If you want nightlife Patong is only a 15/20 minutes toot-toot ride along the coast which is an experience in itself.

I have stayed at “The Heights” several times as it’s such a wonderful combination of luxury, practicality and convenience. Although the apartment has a hilltop location and stunning views (possibly the best in Phuket), it is also walking distance to Kata shops and beach. Lovely décor and furniture and the piece de resistance … a lap pool that connects to the lounge area. All of the windows push to the side so that you are virtually living “outdoors” while still enjoying all of the modcons of a spacious luxury apartment. Will definitely go back. This was our third trip to Phuket in the last 12 months, staying in villas each time, and was by far the best accommodation that we have stayed in. Upon arrival we were greeted by the staff and shown to the villa where everything was waiting, everyone was friendly and helpful. The views from the condo were absolutely amazing and easily surpass the photos; I understand it is one of the best anywhere in Phuket. Open up the bi-fold doors and the lounge room becomes one with the pool and the boats towing parasails up and down the beach.

This was our first time staying is Kata and we will be returning. It’s a much quieter and more up-market part of Phuket, complete with everything the tourist needs. The town is only a short walk down a rather steep hill with a return trip using one of the many tuk-tuks found in the village (costing 200 baht – well worth it). You will find lots of restaurants, quality shops and of course massage parlours.

The process of booking was simple and Sheila was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish, nothing was too much trouble and the information provided covered everything you needed to know. All emails were promptly answered.

I really miss the evenings spent relaxing in the communal pool/spa watching the sun set across the beach and hope to return as soon as possible.

Simply wonderful!

We rented this lovely home for 12 weeks for our long winter holiday. My wife literally cried when we left, she loved it there so much.

We are a very well travelled couple who spend every winter avoiding the cold by spending 3 months outside of Europe. Without doubt, this has beaten our previous long stays in Miami, CapeTown and many other exciting destinations, and we put that down to this wonderful property.

Every morning when we woke to watch the sun rise over a cup of coffee we looked out over one of the most spectacular view imaginable. After 3 months each and every morning remained just as breathtaking.

The open plan felling one gets when all the sliding and folding doors are opened (3 sides are opening glass walls) gives the whole house an al fresco feeling. The breeze is also very welcome, and if it's hot you simply slip into the adjacent pool.

Never before have we wanted to go back to the same winter destination again, as we try to do it all and have a 'been there done that' outlook; but this is an exception. We will go back.

The location is brilliant too, although it's a bit further from the Airport down at Kata, it's the ideal base for the Island for all the other aspects of a stay in Phuket.

A big thank you to Sheila for all her help before and during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and the community staff - like gatehouse security, gardeners and cleaners and the girls in the office - were so friendly and helpful. They wouldn't even let us carry our cases from the car to the house and made us feel so secure!

We really can't fault any aspect of this brilliant holiday home.

An amazing place !

We stayed at The Heights for 10 nights recently (July 2014) the pictures do not do this property justice, the views are absolutely spectacular and will stay in your memory for a lifetime, they wil ours .

The villa is modern, clean and well equipped and the complex is the same. Location is perfect and within a 10 minute walk from bars, restaurants and shops. Kata is a lovely area with a great beach and plenty to do.

The owner couldn't have been more helpful and made the whole process an absolute pleasure.

We recommend a stay here for sure!

as good as it looks

we stayed in A8 the heights over new year for 10 nights and it truly is amazing there, everything you could possibly need. The views are stunning and the acomadation is very clean and well kept. all the staff and everyone we came across were all very friendly and helpfulful. This is our second time in Kata and if we return we would love to stay back here - its perfect.

As Phuket is an Island there are many lovely white sandy beaches. However, the closest beaches to the property are Kata and Kata Noi. Kata Beach is about a 10 minute walk down hill and Kata Noi is about a 15 minute walk. Both beaches are picturesque and have plenty of lounger chairs with umbrellas for a small rental charge payable on all beaches in Phuket. If you have a car then you can drive to Nai Harn which is a very pretty smaller secluded beach along the coast.


There is only one airport and that is Phuket International Airport which is situated at the Northern West Coast. There are Taxi's available which cost in the region of about 20.00 Pounds to Kata depending on how well you barter. There are also car hire which will cost anything from 20.00-40.00 pounds per day depending on your requirements. From the airport to Kata is approximately 50 minutes drive and is very straight forward if you were to hire a car.


The closest village to the property is Kata which is a 10 minute walk. The closest tourist attraction is Promthep Cape which would have to be the island's most photographed and perhaps best-known location. This is about a 7-10 minute drive. There are also 3 Elephant parks, go-karting, quad biking and shooting range all within 10 minutes drive.

Further Details:

The local shops are 10 minutes walk downhill from the property, where you will find is a small grocery store providing all the necessary essentials like eggs, bread, milk, pasta, beers, wines etc... Several banks and money changers are easily found as well as Seven/Eleven outlets. Many massage and pampering spa treatments are never far away in Phuket providing great value and relaxation. All types of shopping can be found along the narrow streets of Kata including sales of swimwear, dresses, T shirts, shorts, shoes, hand bags, hats, belts reading and sun glasses, DVD's, jewellery and plenty of beach needs and attire. Within Kata itself there are about 100 restaurants offering both local and International Cuisine. Several within easy walking distance of the property including Re Ka Ta, The Boathouse and Mom Tri's Kitchen which are all down the hill towards the beach on the main road. There are also 3 restaurants up the hill about 7 minutes walk which are Afterbeach Bar, Small View Point Seafood Bar and Bann Chom View. These offer a fantastic sunset view and the food is both Western and Thai is inexpensive and tasty. As far as places of interest there are so many but to name a few Promthep Cape, The Big Budda both within an easy drive as well as Wat Chalong and Phuket Temples. There are many different boat trips to take including James Bond Island, Phi Phi and Phang Nga Bay. The boat trips are offered by many outlets in Kata village and are a great way to see the islands off Phuket. There are lots of ways to relax in Kata including lying on the white sandy beaches or participating in a bit of Parasailing seeing a birds eye view of the stunning coastal line of South Phuket. There are jet ski's, banana ride behind the back of a speed boat and of course sailing. The island of Phuket has so much to offer to all ages it is no wonder that when you find a holiday destination like this you will want to come back year after year and always find something new.

Booking:- A non refundable deposit of 20% of total booking cost to be paid for short term rentals and 30% for long term rentals at the time of booking. The remaining balance to be paid in full 8 weeks prior to arrival together with a refundable damages deposit charged at 10% of total booking cost.
Once the dates have been agreed upon and your holiday has commenced there will be no refund for days not used.

Changeover day:- There is no particular day except for the weeks of Christmas/New Year. These will be bookings from the 19th December for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Arrival time will be 4.00pm and departure time will be 10.00am unless prior organization.

A non-refundable deposit to be paid at the time of booking with full balance being completed 8 weeks prior to arrival.

Notes on accommodation: The accommodation is spacious and well thought out with all the entertaining area on the top level. Large glass sliding doors as the main entrance from the Courtyard terrace accesses the penthouse. Once inside the open plan living area 2 entire wall are bi-folding doors, 1 leading onto the front balcony where there are an additional 2 loungers and the other onto the private salt water swimming pool. 3 separate sofa's are in the lounge room enabling different areas to relax. The dining area with an additional sofa, dining table and 6 chairs is adjacent to the kitchen. The kitchen is well designed and equipped with everything you could need on a holiday. A downward flight of stairs leads you to the bedroom level and laundry. A hallway with bedroom 1 and 2 on the right, the linen cupboard and laundry on the left and straight ahead is the large Master Bedroom. Running the full length of the 3 bedrooms is a large balcony where there is a table, 4 chairs and 2 additional loungers. Outside: As you enter the double wooden doors to the property, you will walk into a sunny pretty courtyard terrace, with a flowering Frangipani Tree as a centre piece. To your left is the house, magnificent ocean views and your own private salt water lap pool. To your right is a beautiful black marble fitted bar with its own awning, 2 fridges, wash basin and plenty of room for creating drinks of your choice and enjoying being your own mixologist. A barbecue, large fitted bench seat and an outdoor table and chairs to accommodate 10 people as well as 4 lounge chairs for topping up your suntan and to relax. There is also an outdoor shower, wash hand basin and WC on this level which is very convenient. At the front of the property 2 balconies 1 on each level run almost the length of the upper floor and the entire length of the lower floor. On each balcony there are an additional 2 lounge chairs. On the bedroom level balcony there is a nice square table with 4 chairs. Utility Room: Integral Cold water washing machine and separate dryer on the bedroom level. Ironing board, iron and vacuum cleaner. Plenty of towels, sheets and beach towels. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen, towels, beach towels, t-towels etc. are included in the property. Additional cleaning can be arranged by calling the office at your own expense. Other: Assigned Undercover parking for 2 cars as well as additional parking in the condo facilities.
