Photos and Description of this Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise holiday chalet

Luxury boutique catered chalet in Sainte-Foy - 100 Metres from the piste in an exclusive area just on the fringes of the old Savoyard village.

Luxury family-owned boutique catered ski chalet, nestled just above the first lift on the edge of the charming old village of Bonconseil, yards from the piste.

Designed and built by local artisans, Marigold captures the Savoyard spirit with the use of local stone, wood and Lauze throughout the building. It combines spectacular views over five floors, with stunning spacious traditional and modern interiors.

Its an exceptionally well appointed spacious chalet, all bedrooms en-suite with stunning views across the valley to Mount Pourri/Les Arcs, with majestic views of La Rossiere and the Italian Alps.

Food is our passion and we carefully select Chefs with a proven desire to exceed our clients expectations. Together, our professional chef and chalet host will prepare exceptional four course evening dinners 6 days a week, continental breakfast with an alternating hot option every morning before your days skiing. Upon your return in the afternoon, they will prepare delicious cakes and afternoon tea. Aperitifs and canapes are served before a four course dinner and our choice of quality wines selected from our wine cave.

To get the day off to a great start, our chef and chalet host will prepare a fantastic breakfast with something for everyone. Freshly baked bread, croissants, pain au chocolate, cereals, yogurts, preserves and fruits. Each morning they will also cook a hot option if you prefer.

-Eggs Benedict served with French ham and hollandaise sauce.

-French Toast with Cinnamon Icing Sugar and seasonal hot fruit compote.

-Smoked Salmon with Scrambled Eggs (chive, crème fraiche & Dijon mustard sauce).

-Baked field mushrooms with spinach and poached eggs on toast.

-Poached Egg on a Thyme Herb Rosti.

Afternoon Tea.

After a day out on the slopes, our chef will have prepared fresh cakes, tea, hot chocolate and the odd glass of vin chaud. Relax in the sitting room around the log fire, try out the sauna or even the hot tub on the terrace as you watch the sun go down over Mount Pourri.

-Blueberry muffins served with a warm blueberry compote.

-Scones with whipped cream and strawberries.

-Carrot and cinnamon cake with a frosted topping.

-Dark chocolate, pistachio and almond trail biscuits .

Childrens early dinner.

If required, our chef and chalet host can serve the children's dinner earlier. Tell us what you want and we'll try our best to accommodate it. We've kept the menu simple, healthy and nutritious, but also something that should be appealing.

-Lasagna with garlic bread and fresh salad.

-Homemade chicken goujons with mayo, sweetcorn coblet and sweet potato wedges.

-Bangers n'mash with a delicious gravy and peas.

-Homemade fish fingers with french fries and homemade tomato ketchup.

-Bacon macaroni and cheese with garlic bread & salad.

Dinner, served six evenings a week, is where you can enjoy fantastic foods and wines, in a relaxing atmosphere and recharge your batteries for the next days skiing.

Canapes and aperitifs are served before dinner, followed by a starter, main course, local cheese board and sumptuous deserts and coffee afterwards.

-Duck and pork terrine with pistachios and cranberries served with a rocket salad.

-Fresh pea and mint soup with pesto oil and Prosciutto crisp.

-Seared Scallops and Chorizo served with Apple and Celeriac puree garnished with crisp watercress and a rocket oil.

About Valerie Dunn

The owners Alan and Valerie, have been skiing in the Tarentaise for 40 years and decided to relocate to Sainte Foy and as Alan ran a development company and Valerie is a Chartered Surveyor, decided to build Marigold ourselves in 1999. Since building Marigold, we started a French Development/Building company and work extensively in the area. Having been here since the infancy of the resort, we have vast local knowledge and contacts.

Valerie Dunn purchased this chalet in 1999

Why Valerie Dunn chose Val d'Isere - Tignes - Sainte Foy

Chalet Marigold is a superior chalet set in the perfect location, 100 metres from the piste and a short walk or ski down into the charming station of Sainte Foy. Being located on the outskirts of the original old village Bonconseil, Marigold benefits from the lack of modern development and is relatively peaceful considering its proximity to the centre of the resort.

The property is set on a hillside overlooking the Tarentaise valley with magnificent views of Mont Pourri. This 16 bed chalet was built by a master builder with every attention to detail.

What makes this chalet unique

Conveniently located 100 metres from the piste, this exceptional spacious boutique catered chalet has had every attention to detail.....

Guestbook comments from the owner

We would like to thank you for a fantastic week in Sainte Foy. Our stay in the chalet was tremendous. The food was exceptional- high quality restaurant standard for every sitting. We've stayed in many catered chalets before but this was by far the best. It exceeded all our expectations. Lauren and Harrison were so flexible with timings which suited our young family. They seemed so perceptive to all our needs which made our stay so relaxed and enjoyable. Our boys, Tom and George, thought they were wonderful- they were so patient and engaging with all of the children in our group; thank you. Our accommodation was lovey, clean, warm and incredibly relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble for lauren and Harry; from making reservations for lunches, to sorting ski hire, to buying children's particular dietary preferences. We couldn't have wanted more from our stay. We are so pleased to have such amazing hosts. We would absolutely return to Sainte Foy. We would recommend you to any of our friends.

Thanks again

home from home experience - excellent location

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at Chalet Marigold as a party of 13 consisting of 8 adults, 4 toddlers and 1 baby. From the minute we arrived we were all made to feel completely at home. Lauren and Harrison were fantastic hosts. The chalet is located a short walk away from the centre and from the piste, which allows you to ski in and ski out. There was ample room in the chalet to ensure that we weren't on top of each other and the communal areas were excellent for socialising, having a hot tub definitely was a lovely bonus. Would definitely recommend and hopefully will get an opportunity to stay here again when we return again.

Great skiing chalet

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Chalet Marigold for a week from 24-31 January. There were 12 of us from 3 generations - all there to celebrate Grandmother's birthday.

The resort (Ste Foy) is perfect for a mixed ability skiing group, but maybe limited for more experienced skiers. The chalet is idyllic, well located quite close to the ski lifts, (good) bars and restaurants, and the customer service from the host and his staff was first class - friendly, courteous and always willing/flexible enough to fit in with the group's differing needs. Facilities at the chalet are excellent, including a lift, a very cosy lounge with log fire, a modern and well maintained hot tub, and well appointed bedrooms, most of which have lovely mountain views. The food was excellent, (both at dinner and breakfast) with an unlimited supply of good quality wine; afternoon home made cakes were always good, and occasionally outstanding. For a birthday celebration location, it would be hard to beat, and we certainly hope to return.

MANY thanks, Liam, Lauren and Harry - you were really great!

Jackie and Bob.

Relaxed luxury

  • 5 of 5

Chalet Marigold hits the perfect balance for me - beautiful, luxury without fuss, shared space that lends itself to intimate relaxation, even for large groups, delicious food, and truly helpful, friendly hosting service from owner and staff. It is a delightful place to be, even as a non-skier. The bedrooms are charming, simple, with all you need, and the ski station itself is lovely, perfect for families. I would recommend it highly to anyone looking for a true oasis, especially if you fancy a glass of bubbly in the jacuzzi after an energetic day on the slopes.

Fantastic Chalet, Great location, Very well run

  • 5 of 5

Ive just returned from a fantastic short skiing break in Chalet Marigold Saint Foy.

The Chalet is perfectly positioned in the resort with breath taking views from the lounge and decking area that also has a hot tube thats a must after a day on the slopes.

The Chalet is very large and well set out with everything you need its immaculately clean and has a very homely feel with a large open fire in the living room.

Lauren & Harrison looked after us while we were there and the service was outstanding from the moment we arrived.

The Chalet is very well run and managed it was a pleasure dealing Liam who helped sort out transfers, taxies, ski passes etc

Ill definitely be returning the Chalet Marigold next year well done guys!!
