The owners Alan and Valerie, have been skiing in the Tarentaise for 40 years and decided to relocate to Sainte Foy and as Alan ran a development company and Valerie is a Chartered Surveyor, decided to build Marigold ourselves in 1999. Since building Marigold, we started a French Development/Building company and work extensively in the area. Having been here since the infancy of the resort, we have vast local knowledge and contacts.
Valerie Dunn purchased this chalet in 1999
Chalet Marigold is a superior chalet set in the perfect location, 100 metres from the piste and a short walk or ski down into the charming station of Sainte Foy. Being located on the outskirts of the original old village Bonconseil, Marigold benefits from the lack of modern development and is relatively peaceful considering its proximity to the centre of the resort.
The property is set on a hillside overlooking the Tarentaise valley with magnificent views of Mont Pourri. This 16 bed chalet was built by a master builder with every attention to detail.
Conveniently located 100 metres from the piste, this exceptional spacious boutique catered chalet has had every attention to detail.....
We would like to thank you for a fantastic week in Sainte Foy. Our stay in the chalet was tremendous. The food was exceptional- high quality restaurant standard for every sitting. We've stayed in many catered chalets before but this was by far the best. It exceeded all our expectations. Lauren and Harrison were so flexible with timings which suited our young family. They seemed so perceptive to all our needs which made our stay so relaxed and enjoyable. Our boys, Tom and George, thought they were wonderful- they were so patient and engaging with all of the children in our group; thank you. Our accommodation was lovey, clean, warm and incredibly relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble for lauren and Harry; from making reservations for lunches, to sorting ski hire, to buying children's particular dietary preferences. We couldn't have wanted more from our stay. We are so pleased to have such amazing hosts. We would absolutely return to Sainte Foy. We would recommend you to any of our friends.

We stayed at Chalet Marigold Feb 2017 – 7 adults with 5 children aged 9-13. The Chalet was spacious, clean and beautiful. Very comfortable and after a hard day on the slopes the hot tub was a luxury. Right from our initial contact with Liam, we had brilliant customer service, and he responded to emails quickly and efficiently.
The food was amazing – Breakfast was whatever you wanted, cooked or cereals / toast. Homemade cake each afternoon… Evening meals were amazing. Better than we’d all had at top local restaurants in the UK. Jake was an amazing chef and Phillippa was warm and friendly and made us all feel spoilt. Thanks to them both for looking after us!
Sainte Foy is quite quiet in Feb, so the ski-ing was perfect for our young families to learn and gain confidence and the bars and shops are a 5 mins walk away.
Can’t wait to go back!
The chalet was perfect for our group made up of four families; 8 adults and 8 children. The location was perfect with easy access to the nearest piste (70m) and a short walk down the hill to the nearest restaurant, bar, supermarket and ski hire shops.
Our chalet hosts, Jake and Philippa, were just brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble for Philippa who wore a constant smile. Jake's cooking was amazing ......the best we have had in any catered chalet and befitting of any top class restaurant. Liam's customer service was excellent and we would all really recommend this chalet to family and friends.
The resort is perfect for families with young children who are learning to ski as all of the runs lead back to St Foy. The only disadvantage is that two of the four chair lifts are slow and ideally would benefit from an upgrade! However, three of us took a day trip away from our families to Les Arcs and covered enough terrain that day to keep us ski happy. Les Arcs is very accessible from St Foy - enter via Villaroger which is only a 15 minute drive from the chalet (though you do probably need your own car to get there).
All in all .........brilliant! Thank you Liam, Jake and Philippa.
The team here were exceptional and I had a super holiday. I was unwell for a few days and they even brought my food to my room! Very kind.
Highly recommend and thank you so much! X
Our party of 6 children and 6 adults had a brilliant week staying in Chalet Marigold. The chalet was perfect for three families, with lots of space and bedrooms to choose from. The use of the sauna and hot tub at the end of the day provided welcome relief to aching legs! Jake and Philippa were excellent hosts providing the children with their dinner at 5.30pm before preparing an outstanding three course meal for the adults at 7.30pm. Jake is a talented chef who prepared delicious food every night and presented it beautifully. The cheese and port left by the fire every night were an added bonus! We all had a fabulous time and are looking forward to a return visit!
We had stayed in Chalet Marigold last year and quickly rebooked for 2017. We were a large party of 8 adults and lots of children. We were really well looked after by the hosts Jake and Phillipa. The food was exceptional and our every whim was catered for. Great location for the village and the slopes. Sizeable chalet so everyone has their own space. We will return!
We've stayed in Chalet Marigold before and were delighted to return for half-term this year. Prior to our trip the owners were incredibly helpful - sorting a ski guide, helping us arrange ski hire, and sending menus through. The chalet itself is ideally positioned in this family-perfect resort, and it is large enough to accommodate more than one family comfortably. We were 3 families (5 adults and 8 teenagers) and everyone felt at ease. Jake, our chef for the week, deserves special praise: I'm still thinking about his bacon ice cream, and I doubt my four teens would eat beet carpacccio or pork belly if I cooked it, yet all was devoured when presented at Marigold. All in all, a perfect ski holiday. Thank you, Marigold!
