Welcome to our traditional Farmhouse Holiday Home located in the sunny South Vendee. We can accommodate up to 12 guests plus babies in our large 5 bedroom property.
We can also accommodate larger groups of up to 26 people by adding on additional gites at the same location. The cost is £200 per additional bedroom per week, with between 1 and 5 extra bedrooms available. Please ask us for further details.
All facilities are completely and exclusively for use by your party only. No sharing !!
Convenient edge of village location, a short stroll to the Boulangerie for fresh bread, croissants and pastries, complete with a small selection of groceries, drinks, chilled and frozen foods. There is a restaurant with a bar in the village with a great value lunchtime menu, standard evening menu and pizza to enjoy in the restaurant or to take away (during the week day evenings). There is also another bar/tabac. There is also a post office, a hairdresser, a garage, a large park area, and a church within the village.
In a beautiful location, close to the Marais Poitevin (Venise Verte), Mervent Forest, Adventure Parks, Zoo's, Historical Buildings. Beaches of the south Vendee and the Charente Maritime, La Rochelle, Ile de Re all around 1 hour drive. Puy du Fou theme Park and Futuroscope Theme Park a 1 hour drive.
Smaller parties of 6 and under can benefit from a 30% reduction off the original weekly rental price.
We have lived here since 2005. After years of hard work renovating our property we have settled in well and we all really love our life in the Vendee.

The Vendee is reknowned for its sunny mild climate. Our location is perfect being very close to the Marais Poitevin (or Venise Verte, a network of canals reclaimed from the sea) and Mervent Forest both lovely for walks, cycle rides, & boat trips. Nearby historical buildings, Chateaux, Abbeys and plenty of villages of character. The coast, beaches & islands of both the south Vendee & the Charente Maritime and beautiful La Rochelle are 1 hour drive. We love the edge of village location enabling us to walk to local amenities including a Post Office, Hairdresser, Boulangerie for freshly baked bread, pastries and crossants. A bar with outside seating selling newspaper and cigarettes. A restaurant with another bar complete with Pizzeria (eat in or take away) & a lovely terrace outside.
We loved our property on first sight. We saw huge potential in lots of old buildings & outdoor space ripe for improvement & conversion. Over time we have converted the large barn into our home, and the other outbuildings into additional accommodation. We have added an ensuite bedroom to the Farmhouse, and with other improvements now offer a spacious 5 bedroom family Gite. We have installed a large inground heated swimming pool, and along with large shady gardens, a children's play area, an undercover games area (Boules, table tennis, darts) with bar & seating this completes our setup. We are now continuing to work our home, the adjacent barn.
We are now in a position to offer private unshared facilities for parties of 12 in the 5 bedroom Farmhouse Gite with additional accommodation for up to 28 people available at a supplement.

We had an excellent time in this wonderful house. The booking process was easy and Hazel was very easy to contact and prompt to reply to any emails that I sent. The house itself is lovely and in a fantastic location, the pool was perfect and with it being heated the children loved it. It was safe with child proof gates. The inside of the house was perfect with lots of space and the children loved the playroom and the well stocked DVD shelf was great for them to chill out with!
The bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable. Only downside was that they were very hot at night time, I think we were there for a particularly hot period.
Hazel and David were on hand if we needed anything and the information pack that they left covered everything we needed. Overall a brilliant place to stay and we would not hesitate to stay again!
This property is ideal for large groups of families or friends - particularly those with children to entertain. There are enough different outside areas for people to have space from each other, alongside a lovely pool and outdoor (covered) lounge and games room, which the owners have put a lot of thought into. It was also very helpful to have Sky TV, a wide selection of books, DVDs and board games which, as a large family with children, we massively appreciated. We also loved the outside gazebo dining area, which can seat 12 or more adults, with children and there are two Barbecues for outside cooking. There is also an inside dining area, downstairs bedroom and showering facilities that are wheelchair accessible. Overall, therefore, the house was exactly what we were looking for. Just a couple of aspects we were less happy with e.g. a shower screen that fell off and the expectation that we, as guests would be providing a deep-clean of the property as well as vacating by 9.30a.m. As we had infants and a young baby with us, there was enough to do on the day of departure so we went for the alternative option of giving the owners another 100 Euros to get a local cleaner in. As this isn't a cheap property to rent, we felt this to be a bit unreasonable however, it didn't spoil the overall enjoyment of the holiday and We definitely enjoyed our week away here.
Good location with access to a lot of interesting places in a beautiful part of France. Plenty of advice and support from the owners on where to go. Excellent outdoor facilities although the pool a bit cold if the sun doesn't shine! Perfect for a large party with children - lots to keep them occupied day and night, indoors and out.
Internally the downstairs shower room needs updating and the en-suite in the master bedroom really could do with a door instead of a curtain!
Beautifully maintained property supported by the owners in residence. Great facilities: swimming pool, games area, play area and outside eating areas. All this is set in a wonderful part of France with great walking and great eating experiences. Fabulous for a large family gathering. Can't wait to return.
We loved the whole property. The house was large, a little rustic but just as you would expect a period farmhouse. The pool was a good size and inviting, there was plenty of room in the grounds for the children to play freely with the open barn a bonus. The British owners are in the adjacent property close enough to seek their advice/help/assistance but they made themselves scarce enough to ensure we had the most peaceful time possible. Both made us feel so welcome and there were a number of careful touches such as beers in the fridge, DVD's, games and baby toys that demonstrated their desire for us to enjoy our stay.
We had a lovely stay at the Farmhouse, everything was perfect for our needs, two families with young children and grandparents. The kids really loved the space to run around in and the pool and open barn area were great. Really close to lots of interesting places, Puy du Fou is a must. Many thanks to Hazel & David who were on hand to give great advice. We hope to return in the near future.

We can arrange for a local yoga teacher to come in for lessons. Any level of yoga can be catered for. Advance notice is required for this service.

Fontenay-le-Comte - 15 minute drive (larger shops & boutiques, large Saturday morning market indoors and outdoors. Variety of restaurants & bars.
There are many local markets in the neighbouring villages. There is fishing available in the canals of the Marais Poitevin or at the lake in Mervent.

Please email to request a booking form or make a general enquiry. A booking will be held provisionally for 7 days pending payment of the reservation deposit and return of the booking form and terms and conditions duly completed. The reservation deposit is non-refundable and equals 25% of the rental price as detailed on the booking form. The balance of payment is due 60 days before arrival. A security deposit is also payable 60 days before arrival for £300, this can be paid by separate cheque.
July and August changeover day is Saturday.
Other months flexible changeover days may be available.
Arrivals:- Property available between 430pm-8pm, other arrangements for key pick may be made by request in advance.
Departure is to be made before 930am

Prices are for weekly rental for up to a maximum of 12 guests
Prices include bedding, bed linen, bath towels, free unlimited WIFI access
Property must be vacated, cleaned and left as found by 930am on departure date, end of stay cleaning is an optional extra.
