About this property

Lovely Cottage With Magnificent Sea Views, Minutes From Beaches & Coastal Path

Mole End is a delightful two-bedroom holiday cottage in the peaceful village of St. Lawrence near Ventnor on the South coast of the Isle of Wight, offering superior holiday accommodation for up to four people.
From its origins as a 19th century village inn, Mole End has been converted into a cosy home away from home. With its stunning sea views, comfy sitting room and welcoming kitchen, it's the perfect base for an island holiday, whether you’re a beach lover, walker, sailor, crazy-golfer or just looking for a few days away from the hurly-burly.
Nestling in the Undercliff, with its famed micro-climate, the cottage is perfectly located just a few minutes from Ventnor Botanic Gardens, the Isle of Wight Coastal Path, and pretty, secluded Steephill Cove.
Ventnor's bars and restaurants, offering everything from pub grub to fine dining, are just two miles away and you can reach all the tourist attractions on the island within half an hour.

Tranquil haven
A pretty, out of the way row of cottages overlooking the sea, in a peaceful and quiet location.

Great location
The location in St.Lawrence close to Ventnor is excellent and very quiet because there is no through road to the west of the island and so there is only local traffic. The cottage was very roomy for the two of us and it has wonderful sea views. The decor was creative and the facilities very good. Our only concern was the level of cleanliness and some of the furniture (sofa and rug especially) could be updated. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend the cottage to holiday-makers.

A glorious week
Not quite as near to coastal path and beaches as described. Lovely view from bedroom but a trek to the beach and coastal path certainly more than a few minutes by foot. Lovely welcome pack thankyou. A little gem of a post office/ shop which is minutes away by foot. A pity about the road closure which means diversion to get to freshwater and the St Lawrence chute is definitely not for the faint hearted. We tended to avoid and go the long way round. Lots of lovely places to visit.

Why they chose this property

We've been coming to the Isle of Wight for many years and have always loved the feeling you get the moment you get on the ferry, as if you're leaving the cares of the world behind you.
In particular we found ourselves coming back time and again to the south of the island, the Undercliff, with its mixture of lush vegetation and rugged landscape, as well as wonderful beaches and great food for the whole family.
The area offers something for everyone, from adventure-park-mad kids (Blackgang Chine) to walkers (the Coastal Path is a couple of minutes away).

What makes this property unique

Mole End has already become our home away from home and we've taken great care to make it as welcoming as possible for our guests. A lot of the work was done by the previous owners, who paid great attention to detail when converting it from its former existence as part of the village pub.
The fantastic sea views from many parts of the property are an obvious feature – but turn your gaze inwards and there's great pleasure to be had there too, whether it's sitting round the kitchen table with a board game and a cup of coffee, lounging in the cosy sitting room or relaxing in a hot bath with a good book and a g&t.
We always have a relaxing time at Mole End, and we hope that our guests will too.
