Sue and Ken, authors of 'The Eucalyptus Dance', welcome you to Casa Sulo in the Beiras region of Central Portugal.
Casa Sulo is situated in the safe, idyllic, rural village of Alombada, surrounded by the refreshing fragrance of eucalyptus forests and with uninterrupted views across the mountains.
It is, however, within easy reach of the main arterial north/south and east/west roads with Aveiro and the Costa Nova and Barra beaches nearby.
The two self-catering chalet apartments are equipped to a high standard, each sleeping up to five people; for larger families or groups they open up into a four bedroom villa.
Enjoy the private, swimming pool in exclusive surroundings (see booking information for details).
One double, one twin, both with en-suite, a double sofa-bed in lounge/diner area and a modern, fully equipped kitchen with washing machine. On the large patio there is a gas BBQ .
We provide all bed linen and towels (except beach towels).
Because we adopt an honesty policy here there is no requirement for our guests to bring anything other than their personal clothing and toiletries - i.e. all consumables, coffee, tea, sauces, etc., are provided, but if any item runs out or is low prior to your departure, just replace that item with a similar product.
Each chalet apartment has UK adapters, hair dryer and safe. For your entertainment a free-to-view UK satellite television is included. There is a DVD/CD player and a range of books and games. Free WiFi is available - subject to PT Telecom.
The 10x5M salt water pool has a telescopic cover. Pool games are provided. In the extensive grounds there is a petanque and malha piste, fruit trees and a large salad garden.
Very pleasant journey in Portugal and in Casa Sulo in particular.
Alombada near Aveiro has a central position which makes it easy to discover north of Portugal.
Nice area around the chalet with everything for the comfort and well being.
Sue and Ken welcomed us with the best consideration and tried to initiate us to Portuguese culture, specialities and smart pleasure of simplicity; some pleasant moments we shared.
We arrived at Casasulo mid afternoon to be met by Sue & Ken who soon made us feel at home and very welcome. The chalet was superb and we were very grateful for the welcome pack which saved us a shopping expedition when we arrived.
A lot of thought had been put into providing everything that you need as self caterers. Outside there was a gas barbecue, lovely warm pool and a boule pitch with landscaped gardens surrounded by beautiful views of the eucalyptus tree covered mountains. We enjoyed our visits to Aveiro with its canals and colourful boats and the seaside resorts of Costa Nova and Barra. To top it all we had very warm sunshine for all of our stay. Needless to say with all the time spent outdoors in the clean air scented with the euclapytus we slept like logs. If you are considering a holiday in this area of Portugal we are sure you will not be disappointed and Sue and Ken go the extra mile to make your stay one to remember. Casasulo is situated in a mountain hamlet so a car is a must to get to the shops and local cafes and bars but it does not take long on roads with very little traffic. - Sue & Alan from Wiltshire, England,

A car is essential for your stay. Albergaria-a-Velha is our closest town (10 minutes drive away) with several good cafés en route. It has plenty of first class traditional restaurants at affordable prices: a two course meal for two with wine will normally be under €20, or a local dish of the day, including wine and coffee, around €7 per head.
There is plenty to do and see throughout the region with many local markets to visit, full of atmosphere and fresh produce.
The city of Aveiro, known as the “Venice of Portugal,” boasts every modern amenity but still retains its old charm. Take a boat trip in the traditional brightly painted moliceiros, relax and watch the world go by or wander through the myriad of narrow cobbled streets bustling with life. The Costa Nova and Barra has miles of beautiful unspoilt golden sandy beaches waiting to be discovered – here you can participate in all types of water sports.
Porto and Coimbra are within a 45 minute drive.
