I sent the below in an email to the owner.. We received NO response.
Please update your advertisement to forewarn potential renters. The smell emanating from the sewage treatment plant, two blocks away from your home, is disgusting. While you have attempted to cover this toxic smell with a multitude of room fresheners, it’s like putting cologne on a skunk. Secondly, the mattress in the master bedroom is beyond uncomfortable as no matter what your weight, the subject sinks down into the mattress as if it were a half-filled waterbed.
The following are issues that you should address prior to renting this unit again:
1. The shared bathroom has an infestation of ants which appear to come through the window.
2. Your cupboards should be emptied and cleaned as the interior, shelves and contents are unclean.
3. The cups, plates and other items in your home required washing prior to each new renter.
4. The flatware should be cleaned between renters, as we spent the first day cleaning off food from the utensils.
5. Your chairs and other material surfaces in the home should be steam cleaned at least once per year. The seating areas in your home are just not clean (mostly stained).
6. At random times, the electrical circuits buzz and flicker. This may be indicative of faulty wiring or breaker issues. Buzzing is a warning that there is an electrical fault.
My family and I were seeking an upscale community and rental, and this surely is NOT what we found.
