Beautiful barn conversion with private garden and sea views.
Peaceful location in village close to beach. Can be rented in conjunction with the Snug for larger family holidays.
We have a large family and have three dogs. We all love being up at the cottage and taking the dogs for long walks on the beach. We like surfing and relaxing at the local pubs after a long day on the beach. We also like spending time with all the good friends we have made in the area. We love surfing.
Mr Escott purchased this barn in 2001
We love Embleton because of the beautiful beaches and surrounding countryside.
The property is a short walk from Embleton and Newton beach and there are local golf clubs nearby.
Our cottage is close to lots of amenities but we like the fact that we can shut the gate and just sit in the garden and chill out.
The biggest factor for us is that the accommodation has lots of space and is an easy house to live in with our kids and dogs. Its also nice to be able to use the AGA to cook on and to dry our boots on after a long day walking! The view of the sea is lovely and we love being close to the beach. The house is cosy and relaxing.
We have stayed in many cottages over the years, and this is our favourite.
Very comfortable beds, warm ,clean, and contained everything you might need.
Our two dogs, loved the beach walks, the cottage is in a quiet area, tucked away from the village, but within easy reach of the shop, and pub.
So much to do in, and around the area
Great holiday barn, very comfortable base for a family holiday. It is very homely, dog friendly and well equipped.
Embleton is lovely and our children and dog really enjoyed it here. There is a wonderful sandy bay walking distance from East Farm croft with lovely views over to castle ruins. When we took picnic, rugs, wind breakers etc. we drove down to the golf club, you can park in their car park for £2 or park on the road side. Then it is a short walk over the golf club and the dunes to the beach.
There is also a friendly pub in Embelton where you can can take dogs into the bar or beer garden - the food there is really good. The golf club is by the sand dunes and is open to the general public - you can by ice creams, snacks and good meals there and dogs are allowed in the club's outside area.
Good local shop and post office for food, alcohol, newspapers, stamps etc. very well stocked with most of the basics.
Embleton Beach is 5-10 minutes on foot and Dunstanburgh Beach is 5 minutes by car. There is a wonderful pub at Low Newton and another at Craster and High Newton. There is also a good cafe in Craster.
Alnwick is ten minutes by car. Newcastle International airport is 40 minutes by car.
Alnmouth train station is 15 minutes away and Berwick train station is 20-25 minutes away by car. North Shields Ferry port is an hour by car.
Alnwich Gardens are 10 minutes away.
Howick Hall is 5 minutes away. Dunstanburgh Castle is ten minutes away by car. Bamburgh Castle is 15 miuntes away by car. Holy Island is 35-40 minutes away by car.
The village has an hotel with restaurant, public house, petrol station, village shop, post office and playground. Alnwick is a busy market town with supermarkets. There are many good places to eat out locally in the nearby villages of Craster, Low Newton, High Newton, Beadnell and Bamburgh. Kite surfing lessons can be taken at Beadnell. There is a leisure centre and pool at Alnwick. Trips can be taken to the Farne Islands from Seahouses. Alnwick Gardens and Treehouse are well worth a visit.
