About Caroline Dinham

The property is our home which we are renting out for the summer holidays. We have lived here for 11 years and have gradually renovated and extended it over the years.

We love our house and garden, it's a brilliant place for a family holiday, everything is on your doorstep. We have two children and as a result of this the house and garden are entirely geared up for children

Why Caroline Dinham chose Truro & Falmouth

Having lived in South West London for 10 years we decided to get married and move back to Falmouth.

We chose Falmouth, basically because it's the best place to live in Cornwall. We have 3 beaches, a vibrant bar and restaurant scene and we can walk to the boat! Can't beat that.

What makes this bungalow unique

We haven't crammed in as many beds as we can do to maximise the price. The house is actually a 4 bedroom property but we have closed off one room to store our stuff in. So you get feel of a larger house as the kitchen and sitting room reflect a 4 bed rather than a 3 bed.

If you want to spend the day on the beach, have a nice lunch, a glass of wine in the garden and then walk to a restaurant, this is definitely the place for you. Sneaky lunchtime drinks are also a possibility, as you could easily stay here without having to move the car.

We have stayed at 14 Fox’s Lane in July for the past two years because it is a fantastic property in a brilliant location. We were a party of 4 adults (including elderly grandparents) and two children. The owner was very accommodating in providing us with an extra sofa bed for our youngest as it is really a property for 5 but we found it perfect for 6 as our children were only young, 2 and 5. The walk into Falmouth is flat and takes about 5 minutes, likewise the beach is an 8-10 minute walk and there is just one hill to tackle at the end, but even this is not too steep. The Gilly beach café is well worth a visit but it does get busy so allow plenty of time to enjoy it. The property itself is beautiful, equipped to a very high standard and beautifully furnished. It is light, open and the garden is an added bonus, especially if you are holidaying with children. There are even toys available for the little ones to play with both inside and out.



We really enjoyed our family holiday, which is why we have been twice and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again in the future. This is definitely a 5 star property and if you are looking for a spacious house in a great location close to all amenities then look no further. It is a hidden gem and also has the added bonus of parking for two cars.

Notes:
Outside: We have a beautiful enclosed, level, private garden which is ideal for children. A large patio area is ideal for alfresco eating and a summer house provides a handy escape from the sun. The garden faces west and as we are in a sheltered position it is a real sun trap. Barbecue, table, 4 chairs, double swing, seesaw. The courtyard at the front of the house is beautiful in the morning and can also get very hot. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen and towels are provided. During a fortnight stay, sheets and towels will be changed on the middle Saturday. The lawn will also be cut. During periods of hot weather we may also pop around to water the garden. Other: Open plan reading area area with floor to ceiling book cases, skylights and vaulted ceilings. Ideal as a reading area or for children's play.

Fabulous

Unsere Familie (2 Erwachsene, 2 Kinder) hat eine wunderbare Woche im Haus von

Caroline verbracht. Das Haus ist super ausgestattet und bietet genug Platz für vier Leute.

Parkplatz, WLAN, Waschen, Kochen... alles kein Problem. Der Garten ist wunderschön, leider hatten wir mehr Regen als Sonne. Die Innenstadt ist wirklich nur 5 Minuten zu Fuss entfernt und ein Erlebniss. Man kann viel unternehmen: Hafen, Burg, Lands End, St.Michaels, St. Maves und vieles mehr sind (neben vielen anderen Shehenswürdigkeiten) als Tagestouren zu empfehlen. Die Reiseplanung und Kommunikation mit Caroline war immer sehr nett und produktiv. Vielen Dank an dieser Stelle an die nette Gastgeberin.

excellent location, great size property & garden

The location was perfect, 5 mins walk into town / beach;

And All the tourists sights that we wanted to visited, were just 30 to 60 minutes drive away.

The rooms in the property were a great size, all clean, modern and very comfortable.

The garden was spacious, withlots of flowers/plants/tress - nice for relaxing in the evenings.

Lovely bungalow in a great location

We've just come back from a great holiday staying at this modern bungalow in a quiet location but still just a short walk from the town and beaches of falmouth. The bungalow was light and airy, clean and very well equipped. We were also spoilt for choice with the number of different good quality restaurants available from award winning fish and chips, South African, Italian and Caribbean. It's was nice to have days where we didn't have to use the car such as getting the ferry to tresslick and truro, walking to play crazy golf, or going to the cinema. Trebah gardens are only a short drive away, and then we drove a little further to praa Sands, st michaels mount, the lizard and kynance cove all about 40 minutes away. Thank you for letting us share your home from home.

A perfect retreat

Cannot rate this place enough! Quiet location yet only a short distance to the town and beaches. The house has everything you would ever need and is very clean and nicely decorated.

Fantastic family holuday home

Our family of five adults and our two year old grandson have had a great week at this wonderful holiday home in Falmouth. It has everything you could wish for and only five minutes walk from a lovely beach and ten minutes into town. Lovely quiet position with a perfect child friendly garden. Very spacious and comfortable with a great selection of books, games and toys. Many thanks for letting us enjoy your lovely home.

Falmouth has 3 beautiful beaches all within walking distance of the property.

Gyllyngvase beach (Blue Flag with RNLI lifeguard cover) - 5 min walk. Fantastic beach cafe, volleyball net and snack bar.

Castle Beach - Amazing rockpools and a friendly snack bar. 10-15 minute walk or 5 min drive.

Swanpool Beach - 15-20 minute walk, 5 min drive. Sailing tuition, canoe hire, crazy golf and a beach cafe.

Travel:

Nearest airport - Newquay

Train station - Falmouth Town, connects to Truro. 5 min walk. From Truro you can access the mainline to London or Penzance.

A car would be useful, but the close proximity of beaches and shops and restaurants mean that you will probably leave it in the drive.

Distances:

Falmouth - shops restaurants & bars - 7 min walk.

National Maritime Museum & Events Square - 7 min walk.

Pendennis Castle - 25 minute walk along sea front

Ships & Castles Leisure Centre: 20 minute walk; 3 minute drive.

A Tesco Express (open daily until 11pm) is a 7 minute walk on Maritime Quay which also provides a 24 cash point. Falmouth Town provides numerous banks and in-town supermarkets including Tesco Metro and Marks & Spencer. Out of town centre supermarkets include Lidl and Sainsburys at just a 5 minute drive. A 10 minute drive takes you to Penryn Asda, open 24 hours with a petrol station.
