Finca Tahona (and its Casita) are situated in the centre of the island. This really popular location is ideal for parties of two persons (The Casita) and larger family groups (The Finca). Flexibility, quality and a competitive pricing structure with no high season premiums charged is our aim, in order to ensure that visitors have the very best of holiday experiences.
John and Jacky Kennedy own and manage Holidays Lanzarote. They have two villas of their own and also work with a friend who has a villa and casita (smaller house) both of which are in keeping with the quality of rural villa that Holidays Lanzarote specialises in. Together with their friends they popularise rural tourism in Lanzarote on their website and through the properties that they market. Owners Direct supply a service which generates enquires concerning the villas - John and Jacky then contact the enquirer directly and answer their questions / take their booking. They also have their own website where additional information can be sought.
Finca and Casita Tahona are owned and managed by a friend of John and Jacky´s - Julia Abbot, ably assisted by her daughter Georgia. They live adjacent to the two units and can of course be contacted by guests for assistance and advice.
The Finca and Casita are indeed amazingly beautiful with a superb and colourful garden, complete with a large shady gazebo and huge swimming pool, complete with its own jacuzzi.
Close to the famous surfing beaches of Famara and La Santa the whole island is easily accessible from Tiagua, where the properties are situated.
While staying at the Finca or Casita, guests can obtain supplies from the Supermercado Tiagua which is extremely well stocked for a village situation and within easy walking distance.
There are two restaurants in the village, El Tenique and Maison Tiagua. Again an easy walk to both of these. Others of note are Las Cadenas at La Vegueta, Grillen at Tinajo and also La Amendoa at La Santa. All are a short drive away. Guests should make a note to try Tapas at Gullivers, Tinajo. Their dishes are really good and prices are competitive. The owner and his wife put a great deal of effort into ensuring that clients are happy and enjoy their food, often mentioning that particular products have been sourced locally. A surprise tit-bit often arrive at your table unannounced. Don´t be surprised at the surroundings - it looks like a local´s café - but it is much more than that - enjoy the food!!
Dear Julia, a fabulous week, peaceful, quiet and beautiful - just what we needed. We love your house and the island. Thank you for being so welcoming and kind. Hope to see you again.

Your house is fantastic, it has got really cosy rooms, a hot, bubbly Jacuzzi and a pool what more could I ask for! Oh yes and I forgot I get lost all the time with so many doors. Its a lovely house and garden too that every single person who stays in it will love it just like me and my family!

What a relaxing and beautiful "home from home" everything is so well appointed and the lovely garden outside.
We shall be recommending it and shall hope to come back again ourselves.

Our stay at Finca Tahona was amazing, from the communication that preceded it at home in Holland, until we stepped out of the rustique doors again at the end of our holiday.
It exceeded our wildest expectations (and boy, they were high seeing the pic's on the website) The house is renovated with so much care and craftmanship...just a joy to see. The equipment was so complete and of high quality that 5 stars aren't actually enough. Lovely fluffy beds, lots of pillows, tv on demand, superb pool and jacuzzi, good reads in the library...excellent kitchen and very complete too... we prepared some lovely meals together...(I want a kitchen-isle at home too!!!, it's so nice to have company when cooking)
Julia is a wonderful warm host. She respects your privacy and it's just really comfortable to have her so close, knowing that she wants to meet your every need..☺
We would like to recommend this property to everybody who cherishes a rural location on Lanzarote away from the crowds.
Inlands you can't have it any better than this !!

We have just come back from 2 wonderful weeks at this beautiful old Finca. Lovingly transformed by the English owner, it is without doubt, one of the most luxurious rentals we have ever stayed in. The photos really do not do it justice at all, and it took our breath away when we arrived.
It was spotlessly clean, twice as big as we expected, and the bathrooms have so many fluffy towels and bath robes it felt like a 5 star hotel. The main bedroom has double doors onto a stunning view. Not bad lying in bed, drinking a cup of tea, and looking at that scenery every morning! The sitting room is massive with english tv and a good DVD library.
I saw in a previous comment that there was a question about air con in summer. It wasn't an issue for us. The walls are so thick and the ceilings so high, that its cool inside all day. With windows kept open at night it was totally fine in high August.
The garden is beautiful and well-maintained. It had lots of different areas to sit in, in shade or sun, with flowers and plants everywhere. The pool and jacuzzi are fantastic. Integral stairs down which are safe for children to get into the water, and quite deep once in, which is great for encouraging them to actually swim. There is a little cottage to the side of the Finca which wasn't rented out when we were there, but it would be perfect to rent for the grandparents or a larger group of friends.
Tiagua is a village roughly in the centre of the island so we had a hire car for the whole two weeks. If you want to get away from the resorts and the tourists then this is the place to be. We did a lot of trips out and can recommend the pretty towns of Tiguise and Haria in particular. Beaches at Papagayo are well worth the €3 entrance fee. The little seaside town of Arrieta had a good beach with 2 beach side cafes. In the village of Tiagua itself, 3 minutes walk from the Finca, was a little Italian restaurant which we went to almost every other night for delicious pizza and pasta. The owners are Italian so they know what they're doing. They made smaller portions for the children of anything on the menu. There is a supermarket 4 minutes walk away which has all the things one would need including a great meat counter for the BBQ.
I cannot recommend this Finca enough and we would love to return. A truly memorable family holiday. We all had such a great time and didn't want to leave.
Beautifully restored old finca with a most comfortable bed and excellent bathroom facilities. Equipped for all you need (as long as you can do without a dishwasher!), and not sure how the apparent absence of air con would be in the hotter months, but the wifi is brilliant.
Centrally located for travel to all parts of this fascinating island (a car is essential).
Enjoyment of beautiful garden/pool a little marred for us by traffic noise from adjacent busy main road, but we are probably just not used to it. Obviously if other guests are in the adjoining rental which shares the garden area, privacy is not so good.
Furnishings interesting with some great light fittings and huge mirrors, but we could have done with a comfy sofa. Nearby well-stocked little supermarket a boon especially for fresh bread in the morning. Julia, the owner, is nextdoor and very attentive and helpful. The property would not suit anyone unsure on their feet as there are a lot of steps within the property and surrounding it, with uneven surfaces.
Famara beach (10 minute drive) is a 3km stretch of sand and dunes with Cliffs behind. Probably the best beach on the island if you don´t want resort type facilities! Great for surfing and kite surfing. Popular with locals and holidaymakers that are "in the know"
Arrecife airport (15 minute drive), Car hire is recommended.
