A fully furnished barn nestled amongst the olive groves in the hills only 20 minutes from the Etruscan/medieval town of Cortona. Borgo di Vagli is a beautifully restored 14th century Hamlet brought back to its former splendor by the renowned restoration architect Fulvio Di Rosa. Fulvio's vision and enthusiasm for this breathtaking corner of the world is evident in every detail, from a delightful window whose view frames the 10th century Pierle Castle, to the carefully selected furnishings and upholstery to the landscaping.
My residence is located in the the award winning 14th century hamlet Borgo di Vagli. Only 20 minutes from the busy piazza's of Cortona. On site facilities include: reception Multi-lingual management and staff, Reception - concierge, Housekeeping, Heated outdoor swimming pool (66 ft x 21 ft), Trattoria, Pre-arrival grocery service, High-speed WIFI internet access, Walking and hiking trails, mountain bikes, On-site micro market with uniquely sourced specialty products including the Hamlet’s own olive oil, Discounted golf tee fees (40 mins from 2 x 18 hole golf courses), Wine-tasting reservations
Even now, after 4 years, and after literally 100' of times of driving up and down the road, I am often surprised the sudden emotion it stirs in me…
The striking beauty of the restored buildings, just like my grandparents homestead in Monte San Savino, the striking colours and scent of the flowers in bloom and the breathtaking views brought back memories that were slowly fading away, after three years working in London. But, on the road back to Vagli, I now realise my roots are firmly in Tuscany and don’t want to forget that…
I was seduced by the location, beauty and ambiance of the place and the first class - attention to detail - of the design and service. Its a bit of a hidden gem and a trek up the hill road too but it is well worth it. Its a fractional ownership "resort" and is absolutely fantastic. Special recommendation to try the on site "restaurant" for home style local cooking and wine. A dip in the cool design pool is also excellent with stunning views and absolute tranquility. If you looking for a quite restful holiday, away from all the huff and puff of everyday life....then this is the ideal location. Set deep in the Tuscan countryside, There is a lovely pool at the crest of the location, which has a magnificent view of the valley and perfect when its get very hot as there is always a lovely breeze. Other amenities include a small shop for necessaries and a super restaurant serving original Italian recipes. Noel Ireland
