Secret Valley And The Surrounding Area

The Secret Valley Golf Course is a highly prestigious golf course located in the renowned area of "Petra tou Romiou", the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite, the Goddess of love. It is set in a scenic valley surrounded by mature trees and beautiful natural rock formations.

The course is consistently appearing as the preferred course amongst the islands visiting players in terms of sheer playability and enjoyment.

The spacious clubhouse with its restaurant and bar facilities is an excellent spot to relax after a good game of golf. The interior of wood and stone is a pleasant surprise, the comfortable chairs are very inviting and you don’t want to get out of them easily ones you are seated. Very comfortable!

Open daily from 07.00 – 19.00 with its ala carte menu.

Friday and Saturday evening the kitchen will be open until 22.00

Sundays offer a Carvery lunch buffet.

Aphrodite Hills

Aphrodite Hills 18-hole standard championship golf course follows the scenic contours of the two plateau that are divided by a central ravine. A premier Golf Academy and Pro Shop enhance your golf experience, while the Clubhouse offers delectable specialties and a breathtaking view to the golf course.

Restaurants And Tavernas

Pithari Tavern offers guests the opportunity to taste authentic island cookery and serves traditional tavern-type food in either the meze or the a la carte variation. The menu consists of a variety of Greek and Cypriot meat and fish dishes prepared in accordance with authentic recipes.

Anoi Pub & Bar serves a large variety of draft and bottled beers, a new world wine list and quality fast-food favourites from steaks and potato skins to fajitas and spicy chicken wings, potato skins, mozzarella dips and spicy chicken wings, quickly prepared steaks, ribs and some traditional Mexican food like fajitas and the traditional juicy hamburgers. Desserts, ice creams and smoothies are also available.

Zimi Pizza & Pasta is a traditional over the counter restaurant with a great variety of freshly made pizzas and calzones, oven-baked pasta dishes and pasta classics prepared to order, and a fresh salad bar for quick service.

Platia Coffee Shop-Ouzerie is a truly traditional Cypriot Coffee Shop serving coffee made in the utzaki and served with with lizos—the traditional Paphos delights. The coffee shop also serves traditional Middle Eastern and preserved sweets, a variety of olive and cheese pies (Cyprus and Greek style), and other local puff pastry specialties.

Gefsis Gelateria & Crêperie serves top quality Häagen Dazs ice cream, served in homemade cones of different flavours, either for seated consumption or to be sealed and taken away. Confectionary creations are also prepared along with ice cream serving such as pancakes, Belgian crêpes and waffles, complete with a variety of tantalising toppings.

The Spa

A visit to The Retreat Spa at Aphrodite Hills is the ultimate in top-to-toe pampering for body and mind. It offers a cool serenity with monastic interior and tranquil surroundings, where superb facilities and an expert team of therapists tend to your every need.

Petra Tou Romiou

Close to Aphrodite Hills and Secret Valley you will find one of the most photographed scenes in Cyprus, Petra Tou Romiou more commonly known as Aphrodite’s Birth Place. The dramatic rocks look like monumental tear drops in the ocean and are backdrop to the mythological setting where Aphrodite emerged from the waves! You may prefer just to take in the view or if you feel a little more adventurous perhaps climb the largest of the tear dro p rocks or swim around it 3 times to be blessed with Aphrodite’s famed eternal beauty! (Legend may claim this to be true but I think it was her last laugh!!)

Pissouri

Perched on the hillside, the views from Pissouri village and its surroundings are spectacular.

Pissouri has a quaint, unique character bestowed by winding cobbled streets lined with charming rustic houses. The Cypriot character has certainly been retained and is what attracts so many visitors.

There is an exceptional choice of restaurants and taverns offering a wide range of cuisine Pissouri really does have it all from ice creams palours to exquisite fine dining there are restaurants for all occasions.

During the summer there is a traditional Cyprus night in the lovely pedestrianised village square, with dancing and music. It is hosted by the 3 restaurants and their collaboration creates an incredible party atmosphere that is so infectious you can’t help but be drawn into the merriment! There is much Greek Dancing and entertaining whilst you dine underneath the stars and later a DJ with a live band take the evening into the early hours! Although the idea is perhaps to provide entertainment for Pissouri’s visitors, it is also true that a significant number of those present every week are the villagers themselves! Here you can truly enjoy an authentic Cyprus evening but as you can imagine the evenings are so popular that early booking is essential!!

Kourion Beach And Amphitheatre

The ancient Hellenistic Kourion Theatre which sits on the top of a hill overlooks the glistening Mediterranean Sea, was constructed probably around the late 2nd century A.D.

The magnificent presence of this ancient relic resonates of times gone by and over the years it’s stage featured raging gladiators as well as plays and operas.

The view from Kourion Ampitheatre is nothing short of spectacular and at its feet you will find the ever popular Kourion Beach. (sometimes spelled Curium). Kourion is a sandy blue flag beach with a gentle shoreline. It can however be a little windier here and as there are no wave breaks it is a great place for wind surfing, kite boarding and even hand gliding.

There are 3 restaurants on the beach and I have to be extremely bias on this occasion and show my loyalty to Chris’s Blue Bar and Restaurant, which is the middle one. This Beach restaurant has recently been refurbished and offers sun loungers, fantastic shower and changing facilities. The restaurant has a varied menu but genuinely it would be a shame to miss the delicious fresh fish on offer. Choose your own fish from the chilled displays or order a great bottle of wine and let wave upon wave of Fish Meze come to you. Believe me when I say that you will not need to eat again that day!

Kourion is a great day out and you will find more locals than tourists on the beach. As Kourion is close to Fasouri Water Park, it can also be a civilised way to end a day of water mayhem!

Troodos And Mountain Villages

Cyprus is one of the few places where you are able to walk on sun-kissed beaches in the morning and ski on snow-capped mountains in the afternoon. In the summer months, Troodos is a cool, welcomed retreat from the coastal heat and there are many activities to pursue from woodland pony rides to cycling and walks on dappled pathways leading to hidden waterfalls.

Winter time offers a magical wonderland where you can sip delicious hot chocolate made on location in Platres, have skiing or snowboarding lessons, hire sledges for some real family fun or simply build a snowmen! Wintertime in Troodos is a main attraction for tourists and locals alike and the village square is bustling with people purchasing hot honey nuts and sampling Commandaria wine.

Great holiday!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at Paphos Airport and was greeted by Louise who was extremely welcoming. When we arrived at Villa Lignea, the welcome pack that had been included was more than we expected and after a late arrival my wife and I enjoyed a nice glass of wine on the patio. The villa is immaculately clean, well maintained and exactly as described. We had wi-fi included which was essential for us.

Our package also included a car which was a Peugeot 307 - again we found the the car was well maintained and cheap to run. We had some great days out at Kourion Beach, Paphos harbour and the waterpark.

We had everything we needed at this villa. Louise and her team were very accommodating. We would not hesitate to go back to Lignea. Thanks for a great holiday!!

If your looking for a relaxing place to stay, you won't be disappointed with villa lignea! Spacious clean comfortable, all ya amenities, lovely pool, home in the sun and at a great bargain price ( most in area double the price). My wife and I had a fantastic 10 days here and couldn't of wanted for more. Away from everything but only 15 minutes relaxing drive to paphos and some fantastic restaurants. This honestly was more than we had hoped for and we will definitely be coming back.

Happy Days!

  • 4 of 5

Villa Lignea was great, for the money we paid you really could not of asked for better!! Louise was a pleasure to deal with and dealt with everything we needed perfectly.

The area is very quiet and peaceful, a car is 100% needed as there is nowhere within walking distance to eat or buy supplies.

The villa itself had everything we needed to have a great time, the pool was cleaned twice a week during our stay which was great!!

Everything was organised for us perfectly, we were collected at the airport and transferred to the villa, the car was waiting on the drive when we arrived and after a very relaxing two weeks we were collected and returned to the airport!!

I would highly recommend this to anyone, from groups of friends or couples to families.
