About the property

Cosy Bungalow in Weybourne, Holt, North Norfolk. Within walking distance of the beach, Local pub and tea rooms. Well behaved dogs welcome.

Situated in the beautiful coastal village of Weybourne, as featured on Penelope Keith's hidden coastal villages programme.

The bungalow is in a quiet, elevated woodland setting on Weybourne Hall Park. 'Stones Throw' is ideal for couples and small families wishing to come and stay in this beautiful coastal area, providing a lovely base for a break in North Norfolk.

New for 2018, the bungalow now has WIFI.

A welcome pack is provided with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits for you so you can have a sit and relax before you start the unpacking!

If you're celebrating, a tailor made welcome pack can be arranged to make your stay more special. This can include chocolates, champagne and flowers. Please let me know your individual requirements and I will be happy to arrange.

Weybourne is surrounded by woodland and heathland and the area provides excellent opportunities for walking and birdwatching.

The bungalow is within a short walking distance to the village shop which provides all your essential groceries and serves delicious take away coffee and pastries. Weybourne is also served by tea rooms and the local pub 'The Ship Inn' which serves excellent food. The pebble beach is a short stroll away and this links you onto the North Norfolk Coastal Path.

Also at Weybourne is the Muckleburgh Collection, the UK's largest collection of historic tanks, armoured cars and other military vehicles, housed at Weybourne Camp.

Further afield, there are many things to see and do in and around the surrounding areas. These are just a short car journey away or you may prefer to use the Coast Hopper bus service which has a stop in Weybourne.

Here I have listed a few of the local attractions -

Towns and Villages - Enjoy browsing around the old-fashioned high streets and independent shops in Sheringham, Cromer, Cley, Blakeney, Wells or the Georgian town of Holt, just 5 miles from Weybourne.

National Trust Properties include Felbrigg Hall, Gardens and Estate and the Blickling Estate. Plus Holkham Hall and Estate.

Country Parks and Gardens - Sheringham Park, Holt Country Park and Priory Maze and Gardens, Sheringham.

Children’s attractions: The Shire Horse Centre, Amazona Zoo at Cromer and the Hilltop Adventure Centre.

The Steam Railway, on the Poppy Line, West Runton - a regular service from Sheringham to Holt, has a stop at Weybourne, with many special events throughout the year.

Birdwatching at the bird reserves at Cley Marshes, Pensthorpe and Blakeney Point.

Golf on the superb Sheringham Links Course

Swimming and fun at Splash, Sheringham’s indoor leisure centre.

Churches - Norfolk abounds in fascinating old churches, and of course there is the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham to visit.

Many of the local beaches are dog friendly too - ideal for guests bringing their four legged friends along!

For other ideas of things to do in the area and a guide to whats on, visit www.weybourne.net.

When you need to top up your groceries, you can find a small Sainsbury's and a Tesco store at Sheringham - just 3 miles away.

This bungalow provides a lovely cosy base for anybody wishing to explore North Norfolk.

We welcome 1 behaved dog to stay with you at the property. Please note, the property is set in communal gardens and for the comfort of other guests dogs must be kept on a lead whilst in the park itself.

About Jane Smith

As a family of four with two teenage girls, a break at the bungalow gives us the perfect opportunity to unwind and spend some quality family time together without all the usual day to day distractions!

Although we have been going to Weybourne for a few years now, we never tire of the beauty of the Norfolk Coast. There are plenty of things there we still need to discover but it's also nice going to places we've been before.

We enjoy walking along the Coastal Path to Sheringham and always treat ourselves with a well deserved ice cream! The journey back is often on the Coast Hopper bus which stops in Weybourne so its an ideal way to travel.

Jane Smith purchased this bungalow in 2012

Why Jane Smith chose Weybourne

Going to the bungalow provides the perfect opportunity to unwind with our family. There are many things to do in the area so whether we want to go exploring or just stay in the bungalow with a good book it provides us with the perfect base.

What makes this bungalow unique

The local pub and village shop are a great asset to have on your doorstep and it is lovely to be able to walk down into the village for a meal. Another bonus with the bungalow is the fact that it sits on the 'Coasthopper' bus route which is great for exploring other villages. We use it quite often after a walk along the cliffs to Sheringham and then hop on the bus back! The park that the bungalow is in is lovely and tranquil and a great place to relax and unwind.

Perfect birthday suprise

  • 5 of 5

The accommodation was lovely, had everything that we needed, kitchen was well equipped, lounge area was comfortable and cosy where we spent most evenings after doing local walks from the cottage.

Jane couldn't have been any more accommodating with requests for a birthday surprise with a lovely present on arrival. Jane responded quickly to any messages sent and was very knowledgeable of the surrounding area and gave pointers on where was nice to eat.

I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a get away property.

Comfortable cosy bungalow in quiet setting

  • 5 of 5

Two of us with Cavapoo Harry stayed for four nights in early March.

Booking process very quick and efficient with excellent instructions for accessing the property. Equally excellent information on operating the facilities in the bungalow even down to recommending the settings on the shower!

The bungalow was very comfortable. Thoughtfully the heating had been put on for our arrival and everywhere was immaculately clean. There was a bottle of wine, tea coffee and milk and some biscuits as a welcome. The bungalow was very well equipped with everything you could need - we particularly liked the quality of the oven and other electrical appliances in the kitchen. Ate in mostly but had excellent meal with friendly service at The Ship - they even cooked Harry a couple of sausages.

One small suggestion - a curtain/blind at the door would be helpful. Harry slept in his bed in the lounge and when it got daylight just after six decided it was time to get up.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Stonesthrow to anyone seeking a quiet relaxing break.

PS Thought the check list for leaving was very helpful. Loved the instruction to leave all the doors open but not the front one!
