Photos and Description of this Rhosneigr holiday bungalow

Bungalow in Rhosneigr, Anglesey, North Wales - Peaceful Location, 2 Minute Walk To Beach And 5 Minutes To Shops And Restaurants

Erw Wen (meaning White Acres) is a short walk to either Broad Beach, Town Beach or Maelog Lake. Whilst the bungalow is situated in a peaceful spot in Rhosneigr, you are very close to the beaches, shops and restaurants. Rhosneigr is famed for its water sports whether it’s sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing, kayaking or fishing with tuition available if you are a beginner or looking to refine your technique. But there is so much more and this house is the perfect base to make the most of everything there is to offer in Rhosneigr and in the surrounding area. A short walk down Chelford Close brings you to the edge of the sand dunes and to a safe sandy beach perfect for games with the children or walking the dog. There is also an 18 hole golf course, bowling green and tennis court close-by, or you can walk to the village and enjoy the shops (general stores, Gecko, Fat Face, Fun Sport) cafes, bars and restaurants or you can just relax in the secluded garden. Erw Wen has been carefully refurbished and has a modern open plan kitchen, living and dining area and has been carefully designed and furnished to make it the perfect place for family and friends to get together and enjoy every moment of a seaside holiday. The interior of the house is practical and comfortable with every modern appliance to make your holiday as relaxing as possible. The floor to ceiling windows in the main living area provide lovely views to the decked patio area and into the large lawned garden – perfect for small children and dogs. Patio table and chairs are provided, so you can enjoy the large, secluded garden. The kitchen features an electric oven with microwave, ceramic hob, large fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is a separate lounge, which has a comfy sofa and chairs set around an open fire, with TV and DVD player. The main bathroom has a bath, shower over the bath, washbasin & toilet. There is also a shower room with a walk in shower and toilet and there is an outside shower to rinse off the sand. There are two double bedrooms with double beds and the third has full size bunk beds. All bedrooms have wardrobes and chest of drawers. There is gas central heating, which means that you can enjoy Erw Wen all year round. Constant hot water is always available.

About Elaine Alexander

Our family consists of myself, my husband Kevin and our 2 children Anthony and Maisy who are 16 and 12 years old, plus our dogs Amber and Dexter.

Elaine Alexander purchased this bungalow in 2013

Why Elaine Alexander chose Anglesey

We bought Erw Wen as we have visited Rhosneigr many times to walk on the beach and go body boarding in the waves. We loved the village, it has lots to do and plenty of different places to eat and everyone is so friendly - so when we decided to buy a holiday home, it was the obvious choice.

We looked at several houses in Rhosneigr before visiting Erw Wen - even as we walked up the drive, we both said that this was the one!

It was close to the beach (close enough to walk down in your wet suit!) and close enough to the village, that my 11 year old can go to the shops to get an ice cream by herself.

Anglesey has so many great places to visit, that we still haven't seen everything yet.

What makes this bungalow unique

Erw Wen is in a great location - peaceful even at the height of summer yet close to the beach and shops.

The back garden is very secluded and it's lovely to sit on the deck and just relax with a drink & a good book.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a fabulous holiday and the house was lovely, we really did feel comfortable there. We felt so settled we could easily have stayed another week.

It is in a fabulous location, the beach is on the doorstep and it is easy to get around everywhere from there. We had a wonderful time, made especially so by the weather, it dispelled my memories of wet holidays in Wales with my parents when I was younger!

The kids have already said they want to come back again next year, and I am sure the dogs would agree too, they loved the walks on the beach and in the dunes.

Thank you for letting us book your home from home. :)

Kind regards

Nicola

Comments from guests at Erw Wen 14th - 21st February 2015

Dear Elaine,

Just to say a very big thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful cottage. We all had a wonderful week in style and comfort there. The children in particular thoroughly enjoyed themselves, from playing on the swing and watching the birds feeding to playing some of the various games from the cupboard and watching the open fire burn brightly. They, like the oldies, also enjoyed the walks to and along the beaches and flying their kites.

Everybody had a good night's sleep in the comfortable beds after each busy day the good weather allowed us to enjoy outdoors.

So once again, many thanks and here's hoping we can take advantage of your hospitality in the not-too-distant future.

Kindest regards from

Anne & John, Anna, Cristiano and Sanchia

Owner's Response: Thank you for your lovely review. If anyone needs more room than we have in Erw Wen, then our friends have a holiday cottage across the road and I can co-ordinate dates. Our neighbours are first class - we are very lucky to live in such a friendly community.

Had a brilliant time despite the weather!

  • 5 of 5

The photos of the property looked great but it was actually better in real life. The interior was modern and really well laid out and perfect for us as a family. The garden was large and secure which was ideal for our dog.

The location was ideal for us with a dog as it is only a short walk to the large beach which is very dog friendly as most of the water activities take place on the other beach.

We would definitely consider booking this place again due to the fact it catered so well for our needs.

beautiful property, well equiped, and ideally located

.Spent a week at this beautifully extended bungalow in mid june, with superb weather.

The extension at the rear has a full height/width window to the decking area, and enclosed garden beyond (perfect for your dog to explore safely)

The rear of the property also has table and chairs and barbecue for outdoor dining.

Even if the weather is not perfect, the open plan kitchen diner area is so bright and airy due to the enormous window, that it almost feels like you are dining outside anyway ,

The kitchen area itself is also well equipped with all modern devices and loads of crockery, glassware, and eating and cooking utensils.

It's 5 minutes from the enormous (dog friendly) beach, and same to town centre, with a few pubs and a range of restaurants.

A ten minute walk and you are at the Oyster catcher restaurant (good food, lovely location, and again dog friendly.

Over the road from chelford close there's a very pleasant walk alongside the lake.

Turn the other way out of bungalow, cross over , and follow signs to b&b, actually a hotel, and you'll find a very friendly locals pub.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone (particularly if you do have a dog)

Rhosneigr is a great location with literally miles of beach......don't know how busy it might get in season - but wonderful in june.

Excellent family friendly accommadation

  • 5 of 5

It was our first visit to Rhosneigr but it won't be our last, Erw Wen is in a perfect location for the beach, cafe's bars and shops.

The beaches around Rhosneigr are second to none, kept the children occupied from morning til night.

Can't wait for our next visit.

Sunniest week ever on Anglesey!

  • 4 of 5

Our family, aged from 14 to 79, thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house was spotless on arrival and for ease we arranged an Adsa food delivery which kept us in basics for the duration. Whilst Rhosneigr is not full of shops and restaurants the few that it has do it proud. Our favourite has to be The Oyster Catcher, whether it be for a lunchtime drink after a walk on the beach or an evening meal overlooking the dunes. We also all enjoyed Mojo's, Typhoon Thai and Sullivan's, not to mention the funsport coffee shop, pizza or chippy take aways!

Each morning at the house we had lazy breakfasts and fed the garden birds from the sociable kitchen/dining area and watched the feeding frenzy. Our days were spent exploring all the local beaches, dunes, and lake. We rode up Snowdon on the train, visited Trearrdur Bay and each evening usually finished off in the same area, or on the patio, with the last drink of the day.

I would recommend this home for it's location and comfort factors to families of all ages.

Didn't want to leave

  • 5 of 5

Had a short break here with my mum and two lively pups, the bungalow is in a great location and so peaceful yet just a stroll to the shops restaurants and beach.

The garden was fantastic for the dogs to run around and with it being enclosed had the peace of mind of them not escaping and going for a surf :-)

Everything you need is provided and having 2 lovely bathrooms was a luxury .The beds are really comfy and the dining area is fantastic.

I would definitely recommend it to everyone and will look forward to going back.

Elaine is a lovely lady and our deposit was back in the bank within a couple of days after leaving
