Lodge - Winderme, Lake District, Cumbria, England - Very Peaceful Locatio

Relax and unwind in this beautiful woodland lodge. It has all the amenities required for a family of 4. The lodge is equipped with all modern amenities inc free park WiFi, dishwasher, microwave, 3 TV's and DVD in the master bedroom.

Prefered breaks are mid week, weekend and weekly rentals but we are flexiable and the price includes linen, towels, gas, electric and water. Leisure passes are available and paid locally to the park at £15 for upto 7 nights for your whole party to enjoy the use of the on site facilities which including indoor heated pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and gym, there is also a bar, restaurant and on site shop along with a children's play area these all being just a short stroll from the lodge. (Please be advised we don't except pets at this time).

About Louise Banks

I live in north of England with my husband and 2 children. We both work hard and enjoy holidaying whenever we can either abroad or in this country. Now with having the lodge it means we can get away at short notice and enjoy the many attractions that the beautiful Lake District has to offer.

Why Louise Banks chose Windermere

We decided to buy this lodge on White Cross Bay as we live in the Lake District but never holiday in the area. Now with having Sunny Bank Lodge when it's not let out we can just jump in the car and be there within 20 minutes to enjoy the peace and tranquillity that the lodge has to offer as well as having the Lake District literally on the door step.

What makes this cabin unique

White Cross Bay holiday Park is nestled between Windermere and Ambleside and only 2 miles away from Windermere train station. When arriving at White Cross Bay you will be greeted by the friendly staff at reception where they will hand you the keys to Sunny Bank Lodge, give you a map of the holiday park and where the lodge is on site. When approaching the lodge you will see there is plenty of parking for upto 3/4 vehicles, with a large decking area with plenty of seating for those alfresco evenings. The lodge will have been fully cleaned with fresh linen and towels provided. On site there is a bar, restaurant small shop, arcade and leisure facilities which includes gym, pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. (Leisure passes can be bought at reception if required at a cost of £15 for up to 7 nights for your whole party for the duration of your break).

Notes on accommodation: Please note: We do not allow same sex parties under the age of 21 or any hen or stag parties. There is strictly no smoking and no pets allowed in the holiday home. Please treat the lodge as if it was your own home. Outside: The lodge is located in a quiet serene area of the park in a woodland setting. One of the many stand out features of the lodge is the large balcony/decking area which is an excellent sun trap from dusk till dawn. The decking area is also ideal for al fresco dining with the floor to ceiling bi-fold doors opening out from the lounge. A short walk through the park provides access to the private lakeside marina with availability to launch motor boats, dinghies, canoes etc (please note there is a small charge payable to the park not the owners). The lakeside frontage also offers Utility Room: No extra room as all appliances are within kitchen area Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Full cleaning service including all linen and towels is provided and replaced following each rental.

Fantastic Christmas in a fantastic lodge

We stayed in Sunny Bank Lodge for Christmas with our two small children. It was the first time spending christmas away. We couldn’t have made a better choice, we had the best week staying in the beautiful setting of White Cross Bay. Sunny Bank is a fantastic lodge. Luxurious, modern and well equipped with everything you need (even for Christmas Dinner!). It was a very comfortable stay in this cosy lodge. We would highly recommend a stay here. We would come back to Sunny Bank.

Walking, tourism, cycling, sailing/canoeing. The property is in close proximity to Brockhole Lake Visitor Centre offering tree trekking facilities for the more adventurous.


The park boasts a private marina onto Lake Windermere. Boat launches, sailing, kayaking and other water sports available.


White Cross Bay is easily accessible by rail and road

Rail - Windermere train station 2 miles

Road - Exit M6 Junction 36, take slip road left signposted A590 Kendal/Barrow. The A590 becomes the A591 and follow signs for Windermere. Stay on A590 following signs for Ambleside crossing mini roundabout. White Cross Bay is approx 2 miles on left (well signposted).


Bowness on Windermere - 2 miles

Ambleside - 2 miles

Kendal - 10 miles

Grasmere - 8 miles

Keswick - 20 miles

Prices are as follows for 2016

Changeover days are normally Friday/Monday for both weekly and short breaks but we do try to flexible and accommodate best we can.
Check in 4.00pm and departure 10.00am

If you would like a price for a different break than the above please send us an email and we will be happy to be as accommodating as we can.

A 20% deposit is require to secure the break and the remaining balance is due 4 weeks before your arrival date.

Highchair and travel cot are available on request at a charge of £5 per item per break

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if cancelled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if cancelled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
