We are Dog friendly and and only charge £5/night/dog. We are located high in Beddgelert Forest just off the easy walking Lôn Gwyrfai path, & it is the perfect location to access all that Snowdonia National Park has to offer. There are numerous beautiful mountain walks and cycle trails right from the door. You can wake up, open the curtains, and be looking straight at the changing light and moods of Mt Snowdon and the farmland of the valley foothills. On a clear day you can see 25 miles down the Aber Glaslyn Valley, to the Rhinogs and Cadair Idris. The views are a key feature of the cabin - and you can watch the Welsh Highland Railway trains snake up through the forest on their way to Rhyd Ddu, or even watch the Snowdon Mountain Railway wind its way up to the summit from just above halfway station. A wildlife watchers dream with outlooks over field and forest to the mountains beyond. (You might even catch sight of a pole cat, as seen on a TV documentary partially filmed here with Iolo Williams). There are several patios and picnic tables located in various places on the property for you to take full advantage of the different vistas. We also have a charming rural art and photography gallery in our barn for you to peruse should you wish to do so. 1.5 miles from the beautiful village of Beddgelert where there are numerous pubs and restaurants, local shop with post office and fantastic ice cream shop. Footpaths to the top of Mount Snowdon are a couple of miles away, and dog friendly beaches just 12 miles. We feel that dogs should enjoy their holidays as well as the owners, and know that they may not always stay on the floor even when asked to do so, so we provide furniture and bed covers should you wish to snuggle up with your best friend.
Graeme, and his gorgeous, very friendly (but sometimes naughty) Jack Russell Jessie moved here in March 2013. He worked in Leicester and the opportunity presented itself for us to move to such a beautiful location. So Graeme took early retirement & finished work in January 2013. Graeme had always wanted to open a gallery and this was a live the dream opportunity, so we took the plunge. It's the old cliche, if we hadn't, we would always have wondered "what if". After extensive renovations we moved into the house in May 2014. After all the trials and tribulations, and whatever the weather, we wake in the morning and are thankful that we were lucky enough to find such a wonderful and unique place. For us it is magical, and we do not regret our decision for a moment!
Graeme Pettit purchased this cabin in 2013
Sometimes, life can sometimes just be too hard. How many times can you look outside and see the same thing every day. Well, that used to be life for us until we came here - Sue fell in love with the house, stone built in the 1600s and Graeme sat on a rock and watched the light change. He was interested in the outbuildings for his gallery and work areas, and what could be done - after all, he had a dream, and when he found it, wanted to share it. That, is why we have holiday lets - please come, and share the dream, if only for an odd fleeting moment. We think that maybe, after you have tasted a little, you will be back for more - if not here, then wherever your dreams may take you in life - but take that first step, and be inspired.
In a unique location, both Snowdon Vista Cabin and Waterfall Cottage are way off the beaten track, high in beautiful Beddgelert Forest and accessed by a track that runs through the local campsite, across the Welsh Highland Railway line and up through the Forest. The railway snakes round an S shaped bend just below us, and you can see the Snowdon Railway train puffing up the mountain from the halfway station. Both properties are next to our home and so we will be on hand should you need help or advice.
Your time here can be either jam packed with activities, or quiet and relaxed or, well anything in between.
There will be a welcome pack on arrival and you can book a delivery through Sainsburys or Tescos rather than have to go shopping
We also offer 3 night Friday-Monday breaks, and 4 night Monday-Friday breaks. they both cost the same, but do not necessarily correlate to half the weekly rate, as we have to take account of the extra laundry, staffing, welcome packs, cleaning etc. A typical short break will probably cost around 75% of the full week cost - if you are interested, please phone us on 01766 890537 to discuss.
Our actual rates for short stays are published as a downloadable PDF file at www.snowdonvista.com/Cabin.html
When you enquire for any break, we receive an e-mail via Owners Direct. We answer via the same medium, confirming availability, and a price. We often send out our T&Cs and a booking form attached to this reply. If we hear nothing more within 48 hours (shorter when busy), we offer the space on to the next enquirer. Bookings are only secured by return of the form, and completion of payment.
Change over day is FRIDAY or MONDAY ONLY on week rentals. WEEK rentals are from 4pm on F/M to 10am the following F/M WEEKEND SHORT BREAKS are 4pm on Friday to 10am on Monday and MID WEEK SHORT BREAKS are 4pm on Monday to 10am on Friday.

Another fabulous stay at the cabin, this place is a part of paradise, the cabin is clean and cosy and we didn't want to leave, it boasts everything you need and the views are fantastic, Beddelgert village is lovely and the hiking and mountain biking is amazing. Yet again Sue and Greame were fabulous hosts and friends now, we can't wait to see you again next year x
The highlight of our trip to the UK was staying 4 days at the Snowdon Vista cottage. The location is amazing and as hikers we loved being able to just step out the door to go for wonderful hikes. The village of Beddgelert is charming and has wonderful restaurants and shops. The cottage is very comfortable and we appreciated the lovely welcoming basket. Sue and Graeme were wonderful hosts, extremely helpful. This place is worth it!
We had a wonderful stay at the cabin with our 2 children and 2 dogs. The cabin had everything we needed for our week. The views are incredible and we found we completely relaxed during the stay. Sue and Graeme were the perfect hosts and were on hand to answer any questions. We will definitely book again and have told many people about this gem of place in such a beautiful part of Wales.
Firstly graeme and Sue made us so welcome even leaving us a welcome pack including the essentials of bread milk eggs jam butter tea coffee etc which was much appreciated after a long drive. The cottage was even nicer than the photo. Which had plenty of room for 2 and our dog. We found it was situated perfectly as it's up in the forest so very peaceful but also close enough to the village of Beddgelert, it's a great central base for exploring north Wales.
Graeme also gave great advice about places to visit (to which you must try the velocity zip wire).
Overall by the end of the week we felt so relaxed and didn't want to go back to the rat race.
Absolutely loved it, many thanks graeme and Sue
We had a fantastic stay, (2 adults 2 children aged 10 & 14 and 2 dogs) lovely cabin with everything you need, gorgeous views and walks. Sue, Graeme and Jess made us feel so welcome, what lovely people you are and thanks for the welcome pack. Our dogs Sam and Bear loved it and had a wonderful time to, we will definitely be back next year, if not this one. I didn't want to leave, I would recommend anyone to go and stay with them, fantastic, missing it already. Thanks and see you soon Penny & Nick Clifford
We had a lovely week in a warm and snug wooden cabin with stunning views of Snowdon and wildlife!
Our hosts were great, nothing was too much trouble and the welcome pack was also supplemented by flowers to greet us. Graham has a photography gallery nearby filled with his lovely photographs. Sue makes the most excellent jams!!
We couldn't have wished for a better UK venue for a weeks holiday. There are many forest walks around the cabin, and further afield.
we enjoyed our time there enormously and hope to return again soon.
Our grandchildren joined us for the weekend in Waterfall cottage adjacent to the cabin, and they were also extremely pleased with everything there too.
Special interest holidays:
We have a rural art and photography gallery on the property Please contact us for further details.
