Cottages in Woolfardisworthy, Bideford, North Devon - Peaceful Beef Farm Location in the Countryside, Close to Beaches, Numerous Rural and Coastal Walks
About Christina Leonard
Myself and my husband have been letting our two self catering holiday cottages for over 25 years. We enjoy meeting people coming to stay with us and helping them to enjoy their holiday. The cottages are within our 45 acre beef farm, on which we have numerous farm birds, chicken, ducks, peacocks and wild pheasants. Frequently I have children from the holiday cottages watching me with the poultry in the morning and helping to collect eggs! We live in the farmhouse near the cottages and are on hand if you have any enquiries during your stay. The position of the cottages is completely separate from the farmhouse and allows for complete privacy. We enjoy seeing guests using the swimming pool and making the most of the gardens and play areas.
Christina Leonard purchased this Cottage in 1980
Why Christina Leonard chose Woolfardisworthy
These cottages were converted by ourselves from barns. In fact Millers cottage did used to be the Mill house for the local area and still has the original Mill stone laid in the gardens.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottages are peacefully located in the countryside allowing you to completely relax and unwind. There are lush, mature gardens for you to enjoy, the swimming pool, which you have your own key for access at your own convenience. The cottages are situated only a short drive to numerous tourist attractions, adventure parks, beautiful golden beaches, ideal for surfing. There are also numerous countryside and coastal walks in the North Devon area that guests often undertake. There are riding stables, close by and golf courses a short drive from the cottages. Being close to the cornish border, you could drive to some cornish beauty spots or places of interest, such as the Eden project.

Family holiday with grandchildren at Millers and Rosies cottages
The cottages are in a very peaceful location but convenient for Woolsery with its "Open all hours" shop together with an excellent fish and chip shop and pub.. The cottages had all the facilities we required together with the bonus of the indoor pool and games room (Both a real highlight for the children) plus a good sized trampoline. The friendly owners went above and beyond what we could have expected by changing a duvet cover to one more suited to our autistic grandson without being asked. We were welcomed on arrival with scones and cream and jam which was a first for us. A special treat for our animal mad grandchildren was an early morning visit with Christina to feed the poultry and peacocks. (The latter were very quiet during our stay). Excellent information in the cottages regarding the local area was very helpful. (The girls thoroughly enjoyed horse riding at the local stables .) The holiday was a great success with all three generations and indeed one of our most enjoyable family holidays. Much credit must go to Christina and Gordon for such comfortable and well maintained cottages..
Cleaner than my house!
Lovely cottage, absolutely spotless and perfect for a family break. Christina was very accommodating and took our son to see the peacocks in her garden, as well as let him see and hold some chicken chicks that were only a couple of days old. It made his day, and we had tears on leaving because he would miss his favourite peacock called Rupert!
Lovely quiet cottage
We had such an enjoyable time in Devon. The cottage was in such a lovely quiet part that is around 15 mins from most places of interest. Thank you very much to you both for your welcoming.
Great family weekend
We visited Miller’s Cottage for a long weekend for my husband’s birthday, with our young daughters, and his parents. The cottage was just what we needed. Christina was a great host and had thought of everything. Great facilities for the kids - trampoline, pool and climbing frame too. We would recommend. Thank you.
We had a great time will definitely go back there again. Cream and jam scones were a nice touch on arrival. Made very welcome by Christina and Gordon were great hosts. The children Archie and Elsie loved the pool. Would recommend the cottage to anyone who wants to stay in North Devon. Big Sheep, Milkyway and Clovelly not far away.
Lovely family holiday with Grandkids
My husband and I stayed with our 5 grandchildren aged from 6-10, half term May bank holiday week Monday-Friday. We stayed in millers cottage, it was so lovely, spacious, comfortable, clean and in a good location. If anyone has concerns about staying in a place were dogs are allowed then do not worry because i don't have animals and i never once came across a dog hair, neither did the cottage smell like dogs had even been there. Pool was a big hit with the grandkids and the farm animals too. They enjoyed the games room too. The adventure park “The Big Sheep” was fabulous and its a good central area with lots of things to see. It is a very relaxing environment and nice to chill. Christine welcomed us with Scones, jam and cream and it was a nice touch. The cottage had a fully stocked kitchen of utensils, pots, pans, jugs etc there is no need to bring anything with you. It is well catered for. Our hosts were lovely and we would definitely come again. The grandkids did not want to leave and want to come again.
