The apartment consists of 2 bedrooms, one twin bedroom and one mezzanine style double bedroom as well as a double sofa bed in the living area. There is a shower room and kitchenette as well as a nice spacious balcony. The apartment is furnished to high standard with a fan in each bedroom, a mosquito screen on the window in the downstairs bedroom and air-conditioning in the living area. The apartment is bright and colourful creating a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere during your stay. There are double doors leading from the living area to the balcony which when opened provide a lovely cool breeze throughout the building. ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT: Porto Antigo 1 is a quiet and relaxed development on the edge of Santa Maria town opposite a large open square. The apartment is just a few seconds walk from the pool which overlooks a small secluded beach enclosed by the old port walls. This makes it ideal for children to swim and play in safety. The beach is also totally private and therefore can be rather quiet as it's only used by people staying in Porto Antigo 1. There are 2 restaurants onsite, one at the entrance to the development the other on the waters edge, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner it is the ideal place to grab a refreshing drink or bite to eat after a long day sunbathing. Porto Antigo 1 is situated on the edge of the town and is less than 5 minutes walk to the town square in the heart of Santa Maria with its wide range of shops, bars and restaurants. Some developments situated in the centre of Santa Maria town can suffer from noise pollution from near by bars, this is not the case with Porto Antigo 1. You are only 3 minutes walk from the excellent Tam Tams bar/restaurant with 5 stars on trip advisor and very popular with the local expats. You are 2 minutes to the local bakery which is wonderful for fresh bread in the morning. Just opposite the main entrance is a small local shop selling all your daily essential plus wireless internet credit. SHORT STAYS We are willing to do stays of 2 -5 nights when it slots in-between existing bookings. There also my be a small surcharge on this depending on the circumstances. VISAS: Some people have been advised that they need to get a visa in advance, this is not the case. As your holiday will be classed as 'flight only', not a 'package holiday' it is advised that you get a visa at the airport on arrival. This is very simple process that we have been through many times. It is actually better than having a prearranged visa as you get to bypass the long immigration que. This is the case for most european countries however some countries can be different to others so it is best to check. AIRPORT TRANSFERS: Airport transfers can be arranged upon request to and from the airport. We have a reliable, trusted, very friendly and helpful driver who we always use. He can speak excellent English, Portuguese and a little German. He will meet you with the key, show you around the apartment, answer any questions you have regarding things to do and places to see, he will also be the contact on island in case of an emergency. CLEANING AND LAUNDRY Bedding and bathroom towels included at 'check in'. Please note the only cleaning and laundry included is at the end of your stay upon 'check out'. If you require any extra cleaning, new towels or bedding 'during your stay' then this can be provided for an extra charge. CHECK OUT We are willing to be flexible on 'Check out' time so long as there are no other guests arriving that day. If there are new incoming guests the check out time will be 10.00am (depending on guests arrival time I may be able to make it later.

Sun lounger cushions, this is actually unusual for private rental in Porto Antigo 1. The cushions you see by the pool are for the use of the tour operator guests only.

We supply a Cape verde mobile and sim for your use during your stay, we just ask that you top up any credit you use for the next guests.

Extra cleaning and laundry can be arranged

We can also offer airport transfers for you, our taxi driver speaks fluent Portuguese as well as excellent English and German. He can also take you on an island tour during your stay.

A welcome pack can be waiting for you with all the essentials when you arrive, these can include, water, milk, bread, beer etc

This apartment was absolutely wonderful! Don't hesitate to book it, we couldn't believe our luck when we arrived. It was clean decorated nicely and had lots of little perks like the speakers - we used them daily. The location of it is fantastic, you are just a few minutes from the centre of town and less than a minute away from local shops and restaurants. One of the best factors was the private beach and swimming pool which was on the doorstep of the apartment. Me and my sister agreed that is was the best location for sunbathing on the whole island. It was private and out of the wind and the stone walls surrounding the beach looked beautiful against the sea. Paradise! A big thank you goes out to the owner Becky! She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and provided a phone, support and a guide with a map of the best places to go. Such a kind and helpful lady! We left confident that we had secured an amazing apartment in the best location. The whole experience was fantastic.

The apartment of Becky & Steve is very well located. The beach and the place just a few steps. And the pool of the plant is a very nice alternative to the wonderful beach during windy days. The pool has a very nice sea view. The apartment itself is well decorated. With many small lovely details. Becky is at all times and always be reached very quickly with their helpful mails. We had a very relaxing stay and would recommend it to all cases.

We had a nice stay in Becky's flat which is very well located in a beautiful residence. The apartment is well featured and clean. Becky and Ildo (Becky's Cap verdian contact) have been helpful all along our stay giving us useful informations about what was going on in town. This is the reason why I will come again!

We wanted some winter sun & Sal was perfect for this, the apartment is only a minute from the pool & private beach area and a few minutes from the massive sandy beach you'll see in all the adverts etc.



The place itself was really nice, we loved the mezzanine style for the main bedroom & the general comfy & welcoming feel. Its got everything you need, big fridge, freezer, fully equipped kitchen (tho we didn't really cook, we mostly wandered along the beach & ate in the local restaurants).



The locals are all really friendly, and there's very much a 'holiday' atmosphere, plenty of bars etc if you're fancying a night out but the apartment is set a few streets back from the livelier part of town so its lovely and quiet. We wandered around Santa Maria and felt that the apartment was definitely in the nicer end (tho its all pretty nice), the little pair etc is all very picturesque.

Amazing location

Just spent 8 glorious days in Sal; the apartment is in an amazing location, about 40 steps from front door to the sea, 30 steps to the beautiful pool. The owner was so helpful and accommodating, her rep in Sal was helpful, available and we took the island tour with him which we can thoroughly recommend. Great restaurants, bars, cafes close by too. Thank you Rebecca, we had a glorious time.

So close to the beach...

Wonderful week in the sun. Three of us shared the apartment which was of a generous size. Balcony provided airy seating when it got hot and the flowers around it were stunning. Kitchen and bathroom were well maintained and equipped. Sun lounger cushions for the poolside were appreciated. Bed sheets rather thin and tired but the master bed was very roomy. The apartment is in a secure and well patrolled complex with many restaurants and bars close by. The owner was very helpful and responsive.
