We are a couple close to retirement age, but still have to work in the Middle East. Would much prefer to settle down in France or Spain...But in the meantime we try our best to provide nice holiday home for our guests.
Eric purchased this apartment in 2014
Please make a note that often apartments in Madrid do not have view outside. Corrala apartments have window only to the centre of the building with no view outside. We have a great view to a park from two French door windows.
Hi Eric and Jessica,
Thank you forthe stay at your lovely apartment. Thank you for the complementary bottle of wine for being your first guests.
We really enjoyed how new everything was.
Cecillia was very welcoming and friendly.
Hi Eric and Jessica,
Your apartment was wonderful with excellent facilities to a high standard, and Cecilia very helpful on arrival, we enjoyed our stay so much it was very hard to leave.
We hope to visit Madrid again soon and would certainly look to stay in your apartment, especially as we quickly got to know and enjoy it's perfect location so close to the centre of the city.
We would highly recommend your apartment and the locality of Arganzuelas and Acasias, we found it's hospitality and that of Madrid quite exceptional.
With very kindest regards,
Karen and Jack
We were really impressed with this cute flat. Every detail from the cushions to the toiletries has been thought out creating a boutique feel. The city centre is just a short tube journey away, but we found we could walk without difficulty to the Prado Museum and even to the centre. The area around the flat is a vibrant tourist-free area, which we loved. Quiet in the day, the streets are bustling in the evening and there are dozens of family-friendly bars and restaurants within a few paces of the front door. We spent a happy, relaxed week in Madrid and will definitely come back to this apartment next time we visit.
Very attractive and comfortable apartment. Cecilia gave us a very warm welcome and ensured we were comfortable when we arrived. The host was great at providing information and responding to queries. We would recommend this for a Madrid city break
From our first contact with the owner we were impressed by his friendly and helpful manner in our correspondence. The information he gave us was accurate and welcome to us, as it was our first visit to the city.
The flat was very well appointed, just as was shown in the photographs, it was thoroughly cleaned and the lady who welcomed us with the keys was charming and helpful. Everything we could have needed was provided.
The situation was excellent for visiting Madrid, after a busy day in the city it was refreshing to return to a quiet area to rest before the rigours of the evening!
The metro was about 10 minutes walk away and the walk to the city centre took about 25 minutes.
If I were returning to Madrid, this flat would be my first choice for accommodation
The apartment is located in a area of Madrid with hardly any traffic because of the small parc in front. It is small but cosy and very clean, so if it is just the two of you, this is the size you need. The bed is also somewhat small (140x200) and there is a tendency to roll towards one another, but for some this might be an advantage. The kitchen has two cooking spots, which prevent you from making complicated meals. For me it was nevertheless o.k. Couch was good in front of the television, but we did not use the tv. No cd and dvd player, but we did not miss them at all. Good table with 4 chairs to have your meals with enough cutlery available. Shower was pleasant and everything you need was already there. If I would try to find something I did not like (apart from the smallish bed) I would mention the noise from neighbouring apartments. These Spainish people have a tendency to be loud in their conversation. But during the night it was quiet, so it would not prevent you from sleeping.
The connection by metro is good; from metro station Acasias it is a 7 minutes walk to the apartment. To the Prado by metro would be 25 minutes (to give an example) and to the airport 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Don't forget to go to Toledo by bus (1 hour €10 return ticket from Plaza Eliptica) for a grand day out. To get away from the crouds try a lovely walk along the river and have lunch in "Madre Tierra" (tasty vegetarian dishes).

The welcome from our hosts representative could not have been better - so helpful and warm. And the apartment had everything we need for a comfortable few days exploring Madrid. We were able to cook few meals, even sat and watched a bit of Soanish television while letting our legs recover before heading out for the evening. It is very well decorated and appointed is a non-touristy part of the city. We felt like real madrilenos. The metro is not far away though many times we just walked into the city. We had great time thank you!
Special interest holidays:
Madrid is a metropol; city that offers almost anything; world class museums, historical buildings, theatres, great food, parks, good transportation system etc. Fantastic city holiday destination!
Madrid Airport to Atocha 25 min by train (RENFE), walking from Atocha to apartment is 15 min. There are metro stations even closer, Acacia closest 5 min walking, Piramide, Arganzuela etc. From Atocha there is also AVE service, the high speed train to Barcelona, Malaga, Cordoba and Seville. Great connections.
Fantastic location near to museums, Central Madrid and Plaza Major, Atocha bus and rail station, several Metro stations nearby, no major street noise as facing to the park
