Wonderful
Never having been to the Yorkshire Dales, I had no idea what to expect but I did know I wanted to stay in the heart of the Dales. This was a trip of a lifetime for my 83 year old mother who had always wanted to visit the Dales but didn’t want to drive and the wonderful Rose Cottage didn’t disappoint. From the moment you walked in the front door it felt like home; a Yorkshire cake on the kitchen counter and fresh daffodils on the table. Keld is a beautiful village with walking paths for hikers, sheep in the pastures, and away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. I almost felt guilty imposing on the village serenity. Alison is a wonderful hostess and very responsive, even giving a call to check that we arrived. The cottage has everything you need for a stay. I hope she will have me again as I look forward to returning to her wonderful cottage in the future.

New Year stay
Beautiful cottage. Alison kindly decorated the cottage with a Christmas tree and decorations for us. The goodies she left for us were greatly appreciated! Very comfortable stay. Lovely with the wood burner. Kitchen had everything you needed for cooking. We hope to return when the weather is better. Thank you!

Fantastic location and amazing scenery
The property was very quiet and comfortable, the surrounding places are beautiful and safe, we had a wonderful time in our stay. Just one problem with the checkin process, partly it’s our mistake too as we arrived late in the night when it was raining. The navigation shows the postcode somewhere 2 miles away and the name board was not visible in the night, we think the right postcode is DL11 6LJ, another landmark they can add is, the property is just opposite of Keld Resource Centre. Because, there are no mobile reception about 5miles surrounding we struggled to find this place. Ms Alison Calvert (the owner) was very helpful, really appreciate that she arrived at around 3am to check us in. Once we were in, we settled nicely and had a wonderful time.
