About this property

Sahalie Mountain Log Cabin at 7300 feet and Close to Heaven!

"Sahalie" is a Chinook Indian name meaning "High Heavenly Ground". The views from this property are spectacular with Mt. Humphries (San Francisco Peaks), Mt. Kendrick, Sitgreaves Mountain and other beautiful peaks right outside the door. Sitting at an altitude of 7,300 feet, this rustic log cabin (with all modern conveniences) sits on 6 acres only 3 miles north of Route 66 in Parks halfway between Flagstaff and Williams.

Sahalie Cabin borders Kaibab National Forest making access to the forest and all its adventure just steps away. Explore the numerous forest service roads in the area and look for the resident elk, deer, antelope and occasional bear. Enjoy hiking and climbing the hills looking for elk or deer antlers that have been shed by these beautiful animals that are frequent visitors to this property. Better yet, just sit on the deck and enjoy the magnificent beauty that surrounds you. The sunrise and sunset are not to be missed. Beware of the Hummingbirds that will "buzz" around you as they drink from their feeder right off this deck. Did I mention the stars at night? If you have never experienced seeing the Milky Way, this is something you have to see. The night sky is simply breathtaking! Watch for satellites and those shooting stars too!

For those who want to take in all the many treasures that Northern Arizona has to offer, the Grand Canyon is only 55 min away. 15 minutes to Williams (catch the train to the Grand Canyon), 15 minutes to Flagstaff and 60 minutes to Sedona. Visiting attractions like Bearizona are always a fun time and fishing the lakes near Williams is a summer favorite of many as you bask in the 70-80 degree summer temperatures. The monsoon storms are an afternoon favorite for many in July and August. Afternoons can be spent on the deck watching these storms build up all around then letting loose. The sound of thunder rumbling through the forest is a sound few people ever get to hear.

This very special cabin has room for 2-3 couples and kids too. There is 2650 square feet of rustic comfort. 3 bedrooms with 2 1/2 baths. Master bedroom has bath with shower. Both guest bedrooms share a "jack and jill" bath with tub/shower. There is a half bath in the hallway. All bedrooms have comfy queen beds and there are Aero Beds with plenty of room in the loft. The open floor plan features a large kitchen that has everything needed for cooking those hearty mountain meals. There is a propane barbecue available if so desired. The kitchen is open to a large family gathering area that features a floor to ceiling fireplace that was built with rocks gathered from the property. Satellite TV is available in the great room and the master bedroom. There is an XBOX in the loft ready for the kids. A Pak-N-Play and a highchair are available if needed.

If you're looking for a few days or a few weeks of nothing but relaxation, come visit the "high heavenly ground" Sahalie has to offer. You won't be disappointed! However, there is one thing that must be mentioned, leaving is very difficult!

A Christmas our family will remember
The Cabin was absolutely gorgeous! By far one of the best experiences we could have asked for. Our kids had a blast making memories in the loft and waiting for Santa to make his debut. Everything that we needed was there and ready. Would definitely recommend this to my friends and most likely will plan another stay in the future! The holiday season can be very stressful and hectic staying at the Sahalie cabin REALLY took all of the chaos out of the holidays. With the ambiance and the geographical location you really are able to relax and just enjoy your time with loved ones.

Best location
Extremely comfortable for our family. The best part is the secluded location. There is a mini mountain right behind the cabin that our 12year old son and his friends can hike. The loft upstairs in the cabin provides indoor fun for the kids and enough beds for all. The kitchen had everything we needed to accomodate our cooking. We have stayed here twice and look forward to returning again!

Beautiful, peaceful Retreat!
When we were planning our vacation to northern Arizona to hike Humphrey's Peak and the Grand Canyon, we never imagined we would find a home like Jim's. It is obvious that Jim put a lot of time and energy into his home - beautifully located so you can see Humphrey's Peak, deer wandering into the yard, and peaceful mornings on the porch. To top it off, Jim was friendly and great at providing helpful tips that made the trip a little easier. We highly recommend his home to anyone wanting a relaxing, northern Arizona experience.

We (Jim and Jani) were born and raised in Oregon. We moved to Arizona in 1984 and have lived in the Phoenix area ever since. It was always our goal to share the outdoors with our kids and grandchildren. In 1999 we began, what became a 2 year search, to find the perfect property to build a life long dream log cabin. Our family has enjoyed many fun times here with lots of memories. After 12 years of being an exclusive 1 family getaway, we are delighted to share this very special and beautiful log cabin with you...our guests.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this property the moment we saw it. You will too! The cabin is easily accessible by paved road and a 1,000 foot cinder driveway. The unobstructed views of all the peaks that surround the cabin are magnificent. Access to the national forest is right out the door. There is just so much to do...or not to do!

What makes this property unique

This cabin is a true log home built with hand peeled logs from Montana. It has all the modern conveniences too. By far, without a doubt, THE VIEW is the most unique benefit. You'll be taking many photos from the deck as the mountain slowly turns colors with the evening sunsets.
