Wonderful home and great hosts

  • 5 of 5

We have a wonderful time staying in the Coach house. Margaret and Mark were so kind and friendly. They gave us lots of tips as to where to visit. The home is lovely and our friends the chickens would look forward to their treat each day. It was just the two of us, but you could have a family here and it would be plenty big enough.

Mark and Margaret invited us into their home where we talked away the evening they really know how to make a person feel at home.

We will highly recommend this home to many folks. We are looking forward to our return to Ireland and would love to come back here.

Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Beautiful, rustic cottage

  • 4 of 5

Firstly, let me say that Margaret and Mark are some of the nicest people we've ever met! They made us feel at home immediately. The house is a stone cottage that is beautifully decorated but still maintains a rustic charm. It was perfect for us and our two young daughters. The owners have done their best to keep original features, but you have all updated amenities, including a new washer/dryer combo that is fab. Each bed even has an electric blanket to keep you extra warm, should you desire. The house is probably within walking distance to town, but we never had the opportunity to walk it as we were always driving somewhere--it's an easy drive to Kilkenny and other Southeast towns. Inistioge has a lovely river walk and cute cafe in the center. We grabbed coffees and hot chocolate and then walked. Gorgeous. We ended up staying only a couple nights at the cottage due to some unforeseen circumstances. Wish we could have explored the town more. We were set on 'eating' the portion of our weekly rental, however, Mark and Margaret insisted we get the money back. Their kindness and understanding overwhelmed us. Hopefully, our paths will cross again. Tami and Charlie

A lovely cosy place to chill out with friendly hosts.

  • 5 of 5

The building is a renovated farm building full of charector and charm. The wood burning stove adds a layer of comfort to this already cosy property. The hosts were friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic weekend and will definitely be back and will reccomend it to friends.

When can we come back?! :)

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I booked a week long stay with Maggie and Mark in their beautiful stone cottage for our honeymoon. It was the best decision we could have made for our newlywed getaway! The moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth, happiness and humor from this husband and wife team. Of course the cottage itself is beautiful (the pictures you see on the internet don’t really begin to do it justice), but it’s really Maggie and Mark who make this place so special. They are incredibly accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful, which we really appreciated as first time visitors to Ireland. We used the cottage as our “base camp” to come back to every night after exploring the surrounding areas of Inistioge, Thomastown, and Kilkenny. The kitchen was perfect for us to cook full meals in, which we would then eat by candlelight in front of the wood stove (romantic, eh??). We even had the opportunity to enjoy fresh eggs for breakfast from Maggie and Mark’s chickens!

If you are lucky enough to stay at the cottage, be sure to check out the little village of Inistioge - the pubs and restaurants there are filled with locals who are friendly and talkative. In fact, during our entire time in Ireland, we did not run into anyone we wouldn’t have enjoyed sharing a pint with. Maggie and Mark are certainly top on that list!

Our only complaint about our stay is that it went by WAY too quickly. We hope to do it again very soon!

We stayed for 2 nights. It was a great location for visiting Kilkenny and surrounding areas. Lovely little cottage with all the required essentials for a comfortable stay.

Wonderful & Cozy

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our brief stay at this property! The owners, Margaret and Mark, are great people, very pleasant to chat with, and both were very helpful and hospitable. The facility is small, but it is very heart warming and cozy. Very quiet location and is just outside of Inistioge. We would highly recommend this property!

Inistioge village is located beside the river Nore in the South East of Ireland. The village has a number of pubs and restaurants to choose from. Either side of the village you can take easy walks along the river bank in peaceful countryside. Above the village is the Woodstock demense and House whose gardens have been restored to their former glory, which at one time were considered one of the great gardens of Ireland.

In Thomastown (7Kms) there is the famous Jerpoint Abbey and in Kilkenny (15kms) there is the Castle and Rothe house and a number of churches and Cathedrals.Waterford (44Kms) is only 40mins drive away where there is a museum of local history and buildings of historical interest.

Inistioge is centrally located for easy access to the south coast and sandy beaches and all major towns in the area.
