About the property

2 BD/2BA fully renovated 2016 high end amenities ideal for families and friends

In the heart of Villefranche sur Mer old town, in a 1700 building, our apartment is on top the floor and has been fully renovated in 2016 again:) with all high end amenities, to create a real home away from home.

The first amazing point is that we are on the top floor but you will only have to walk up 5 steps to the main door, which is a luxury itself in the old town!

Charm, comfort, cozy feeling,is all you will find staying here as a family, or for a romantic stay, and even for friends gathering.

The apartment has been set to offer everyone privacy : the living room and open plan kitchen are central, while the master bedroom with it's full shower room is on one side, and the second bedroom and full bathroom on the other side. So if you're travelling with children or with another couple of friends, everyone gets it's own space !

The Italian designed kitchen has a granit top, easy to clean, and absolutely all you need to cook after shopping at the local market.

Heaven's nest is a real home away from home with 7 double glazed windows, lots of lights, a nice view on roof tops.

The master bedroom has a view on an old Villefranche Arch, with it's full ensuite shower room (antique marble). Bed is 160 cm queen size.

The second bedroom, as you can see in the pictures, can be set with twin beds, brand new matteresses, or a queen size, or as a triple. The third bed comes down from the wall, and is only adapated for children or teenagers, but it's great to be able to fit 3 children in the same bedroom, so everyone can enjoy the living room with nobody sleeping on a sofa !

When I say full bathroom,or full shower room it includes in each a WC,a sink, and a shower or bath.We also thought that it would be great for friends to be each on one side, and each their own bathroom.

Right nearby second bathroom, is our mini laundry room, with a washer and a dryer on top, so you can travel light, or if Villefranche is only a stop during your journey in Europe, we thougt it would be great to have access to a full laundry system !

Our street is very quiet during the day, but of course in season, are you will be centrally located, there might be fun things with a little noise in the area, including some restaurants. However, Villefranche's is not a nightlife city, so by midnight maximum and in high season or special week ends, there might be some noise, but we never had any complaints though.

It's very important for us that our guests know exactly what to expect, so be aware that in Villefranche old town, everything is super handy, but no cars, so you need to walk up and down steps and through narrow medieval streets all the time.

The train station is about 7 mn's walk away, the seashore only 2 mn's away, and the beach about 7/10 mn's walk away.

The first restaurant is only steps from our place, and all the others are withing 5 mn's walk from Heaven's nest. As we love to share our tips about the area, we do provide a full guide about where to eat, what to do, what to see, with also off the touristy path sightseeing !

For the groceries, everything is accessible in the old town, bakery, butcher, small supermarket, news papers, etc... and within 5 mn walk from the apartment.

As previously said, there are no cars in the old historical town, so we don't have private parking and a car is not necessary as public transportation is great, Monaco is only 6 mn's away with the train and so is Nice.

However, should you travel with a car, just let us know, we can share information about free parking and best spots, but also about city parking places to park 5 mn's away from the apartment, in case you cannot find a space after exploring the area.

The apartment has unlimited phone calls to 103 countries on land lines, and also on locals, which our guests find great and feel secure about having a phone they can use in any case.

The TV has English news channels, but also entertainment and sports in English.

Pricing : All the pricing includes the linens, the towels, the beach towels, the air con, the heat, the high speed WIFI internet, starting cleaning kit and more as again, it's a home, not just a vacation rental (I don't like traveling and renting places where you have 2 skillets and one pot, or 4 glasses, 4 plates, etc....). unlimited phone calls to 103 countries.

For any requested period and quote, price always includes all the above. Balance is due 60 days prior to arrival.

Security deposit is only charged on credit card authorization for 600 € and only debited if damages. Off course you will always receive all the invoices showing what has been paid and a refund of the remaining funds.

Off course, breaking a glass or a plate is ok, and will not be debited.

I take pride in giving places that are spotless in every way, linens ironed, washed with bacteria killers, etc...., and will only give you what I would actually put my own family in :)

If you travel with toddlers or babies, we can provide with a cot and a high chair if needed.

We also have toys, DVD's and all you need to have a good time at the beach. With all the restriction now when we fly, we have tried to provide everything so that our guests can travel light !

We can also organize an airport pick up for you in a van, and our past guests find it easy and smooth to have someone meet them in the airport terminal and take them directly to us so we can hand over keys and show you around.

We try to be very flexible upon arrivals, as we have a family too, as long as you can communicate with us in advance about arrival. If the apartment is not ready, you can drop your luggage off, and we will do the best we can to have it ready ASAP. Late check in are also easy, so just let us know, we've never left anyone out ! Check out is at 10 am or before. If you have a late flight, we offer the possibility to stay in the apartment for the charge of half a night if that day is open when you book. Just contact us as soon as you book, so we can provide.

Should you need assistance during your stay, we're only 10 mn's drive away and will be happy to help or give you advice.

We will also very happy to host guests willing to spend the low season month enjoying the French Riviera and our amazing weather. So feel free to ask us.

We are also used to host guests attending the French Institute willing to relax after a day spent hearing French !

If you are looking to explore our magic area, but would also like to feel like locals, you are only steps away !

Returning clients over the years, many friendships, are our best rewards.

Looking forward hearing from you !

About Muriel Berdat

My name is Muriel, and I have been a property manager in the area for now over 20 years. Years spent trying to give the maximum service to all my guests, to share my love for the area, and my love for the local people too.

Many years ago, I have decided to manage and rent only apartments or villas that I would feel comfortable putting my own family in. To me they need to be spotless, and very very well equiped. Not just 2 skillets and 2 pots for 5 people, or only 4 plates ! A nice reward is when I hear : it's just like the pictures, but my best reward is actually : It's even better than in the pictures ! All the properties are well maintained, I always add little things here and there by listening to our guests comments.

Should you need anything during your stay, I can assure that even the impossible is sometimes done to fix anything as fast as possible. Lots of my guests have become friends and come back regularly. I love to travel, and I know how important a vacation is, especially when you come from far away.

In each of my properties, you'll find a book with all my little inside tips and information, to find the places to see, or to eat, and live like locals if you'd like !

As a property manager, by Law in France, I have a license, and I have an insurance up to 110 000 euro to protect owners and renters of any problem. To keep my license and my insurance, I am audited once a year. This is your best guarantee that I 'll always work my best to meet you needs and follow my ethic line and standard.

I am a the happy mother of 3 great children, a 18 year old and twins 11 years old, the wife of a great man of heart, and an elected city council of my little town Eze where I leave.

Should you not know the area, feel free to ask what would be best for you according to your needs, I'll be more than happy to help. Wishing you a very pleasant Villefranche and the Riviera discovery.

Why Muriel Berdat chose Nice Area

I have been a property manager on the Riviera for 22 years now, and when my husband and I saw this apartment, we just loved it because of all the windows, the light that was coming in ( I am a little claustrophobic and usually all the places in the odl town are really close to each other). Plus it was a top floor, but no high steps to reach it as it's only 5 steps up to main door. Very high diamond shape ceilings, the perfect display to have a parent ensuite bedroom on one side, with a romantic view on typical old town street and arch, and the children's bedroom on the other side with their own full bathroom, a well sized for the area living space. So we bought it ! We have remodeled it completely and have made it a home away from home. We have used all our experience as a travelling family, to give you all you need to have the perfect vacation, cosy, comfort, and typical. Because this is what we are looking for when we travel. We want the real experience, not only what tourists area offer. And on Rue Baron de Bres, with all the old stones, the locals taking out their chair after dinner to talk a bit, it is the real atmosphere of a southern France village. We would not say the apartment has a sea view even if you can see a little bit of the sea from the bedroom windows on the side. But so you know, when you are down here, you have a sea view all the time : having a coffee at a local café by the water, driving, having a train ride, the Mediterranean is present all the time. Villefranche sur mer is a unique picturesque little town or village. The old historical town, is right by the seashore, lots to do in the summer but also in the winter. Very easy to get around, train, buses, pedestrian area so no cars around. Only 20 mn from Nice International airport, Monaco is just 20 mn's away, Italy is so close. And Villefranche has everything, lots of restaurants, pubs, bars, shops. Very touristy area, but in the heart of the old town, so quiet, time seems to have stopped!

What makes this apartment unique

It's a very short walk to the beach, and to everything, and at the same time, so quiet. Take a coffee or a glass of wine beeing in an historical area is just amazing. Stress is washed away in seconds. But if you want the crowd, well it will just take 1 mn walk to find it !

Villefranche sur Mer old town is only pedestrian, and it's a series of streets with stairs to connect all the streets. So be prepared to walk, as it is the best way to discover this area any way. The apartment has only 5/6 steps to the main door, they are not too high, and could be easily done by anyone. Should you need a baby bed or a high chair, feel free to ask, we will be happy to provide ! Villefranche sur Mer train station is only 7/8 min walk away from the apartment if you arrive by train. Car is not necessary to stay in our apartment. We provide a supermarket card that will allow you to shop at the big Beaulieu sur Mer supermarket (right next door from Beaulieu sur Mer train station), and get everything delivered for 7 Euro only. Bus stops are about 7/8 min up from our apartment, and trips are only 1 Euro/trip/person ; also a pharmacy and a doctor are nearby should you need them.

Simply Superb!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is delightful! From the moment we arrived we felt completely at home. The pictures are accurate. The apartment was very clean and well maintained. There were plenty of windows which added to the overall ambiance. The WIFI is fast. We loved the location. The train station is only a five minute walk from the apartment. Muriel is a very considerate owner to deal with and provided so many useful tips regarding the area. We dined at Le Serre twice (it is only a few steps from the apartment) and were impressed with the food, wine, warmth and hospitality. We highly recommend this apartment and are sure to return!

Gorgeous apartment in France village

  • 5 of 5

We just got home from a 10 night stay in Muriel's apartment in Villefranche. The apartment and the location could not have been any was heaven! It was really nice to come home to a quiet and quaint place away from the hustle of Nice or Monaco. We loved the restaurants, pastry shops, local shops and walks through the small medieval streets. The walk to the beach was pleasant (about 10 min) downhill....the walk back was uphill and we sure did get our workout for the day carrying our beach chairs and umbrella but well worth it. The sea is unbelievable and the best we have ever swam in and we miss it already. The food in the restaurants was very good and the atmosphere quaint and relaxed. Everything is accessible to you by foot, train, beach, grocery, bus etc......just perfect. I recommend you rent a boat and sail around the coast..the view from the water is unbelievable (you can rent with no license). We rented a car for the day and drove to Italy and Monaco...would not recommend it. The train is much easier, less stressful and more enjoyable. Muriel was a gem and the information in her place is phenomenal....thanks again for a wonderful and memorable family vacation.

We loved it - so will you!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here the entire month of July with another couple. The apartment is very well situated, clean, modern and has plenty of space for two couples. The guide that Muriel provided before we arrived is the best we have ever seen! She went to great lengths and much detail to make sure we could easily get there from the airport, find the apartment and know where to shop and to dine. We tried many of her restaurant recommendations and they were all great.

Muriel greeted us in person when we arrived, the A/C was on and she had a wonderful gift/snack basket waiting for us. Muriel is truly a trustworthy professional and she knows how to make her guests feel welcome!

Even though the apartment is located in the heart of old Villefranche and right next to several restaurants, there was never a problem with street noise. The bedrooms are quiet and cozy. The A/C works great (three units in the apartment). July was a very warm month - every day was sunny and around 80 degrees (or warmer), but the heat was never an issue in the apartment. We all slept wonderfully there!

The television is large and gets plenty of stations (including in English). The internet Wifi worked great throughout the apartment. The refrigerator is large, the kitchen is modern and it even has a dishwasher! The two bathrooms are both modern and good size.

Anyone staying in Villefranche should know that the entire town is built on a steep hill, so there are stairs everywhere. This was no problem for us, but you don't want to be surprised when you get there. Also, there is no driving within the medieval part of the town, so you will need to get your luggage up or down hill depending upon how you arrive. The apartment itself is up one flight of stairs. There is no actual view of the sea from the apartment, but the beach is close by and a very easy walk from the apartment.

We had an absolutely enchanting time in Villefranche. We toured quite a few other nearby towns during our stay and it was always wonderful to come "home" to our apartment. What a great vacation we had!

This was my family's first time in Villegtanche and Muriel and her team made our stay memorable. The apartment was very comfortable and had all of the am entities of home. At the end of our busy days it was so nice to come back and just relax. Muriel is a very organized and caring individual and she makes sure you want for nothing! Heaven is in Villefranche-Sur-Mer!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 stayed at Muriel's place in early April. She is a very hands-on, capable owner and wonderful hostess. Her activity and restaurant recommendations were spot on! She greeted us with a basket of goodies to get us through until we could get groceries. She put me instantly at ease with my 5 year old and 8 year old, she even had sand toys and coloring pencils for them to borrow! She left instructions for the appliances, which was so helpful since the washer/dryer is slightly different than ours in the US. I would definitely recommend ear plugs, because the village church bells will wake you every morning if you are not an early riser.

This was our 3rd out of 4 apartments we stayed in while visiting France, and it was our favorite. It was very clean and so spacious! It was an incredibly short walk to restaurants, the beach, small grocery, bakery... anything we needed! There was easy access to the train, so we took day trips to Monaco and Ventimiglia. We could have just as easily hopped to Cannes or Nice. Villefranche-sur-mer is perfect for day trips, because it is such a quiet place to stay and yet centrally located with easy access to transportation. We also enjoyed the local open air market and a flea market in the main square. Everyone we interacted with in Villefranche-sur-mer was lovely.

The apartment was wonderful and we would definitely love to stay there again!

Charming Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed in this apartment during Winter 2015 for seven weeks with our two children. The apartment was exactly as advertised. It is very charming and seemed larger than advertised due to the high ceilings and the open concept living room/dining room/kitchen. The kitchen is very well stocked and easy to use. The location of the apartment is extremely convenient to restaurants, stores and public transportation. There are several nearby playgrounds and beaches. Muriel left a wonderful guide to the area as well as a lot of helpful information to help us through our stay. We loved getting to know the area and would love to return to Villefranche-sur-Mer one day. Our daughter says we must stay in this apartment again! It certainly felt like our home away from home.

Villefranche sur Mer historical town is considered a real gem on the French Riviera. From the 1500 Fortress to the Cocteau chapel, all the old medieval pedestrian streets, and the easy access to a long sandy beach with clear waters makes it a real picturesque little French town to visit. Also, besides the few but very very busy streets, you will be amazed to find that if you turn on another street, you can hear the birds sing !If you'd like the crowd, you can have it,lots of shops, restaurants, bars,in the old town and by the water front promenade. Everything is within walking distance. If you'd like to visit Monaco,or cross the Italian border, it will only take 20 min by train. On the other side, you could be in Nice in 15 min. Local open markets, fisherman selling fish in the morning. And all the Mediterranean colors to greet you. The Rue Obscure the blind street is one of the most famous you should not miss. From a romantic stay to family visits and friends getaway, Villefranche has it all.
