A bright spacious ground floor 2 bedroom apartment with stunning sea glimpses and views across to the rolling hills above Hope Cove. Enjoy an al fresco lunch on the south facing patio or treat yourself to a sun bathe in the private enclosed garden. The apartment is perfectly situated at the top of Thurlestone village in close proximity to the handy village store stocked with local produce, post office and recently renovated 12th century inn, serving local beers and a great selection of food. A short stroll through the picture box thatched village heart will take you to the unspoilt beaches of Yarmer, Lea’s foot, Broadsands and the iconic Thurlestone Sands or you can join the South West Coastal Path to walk to the fishing villages of Inner and Outer Hope or to the surfer’s favourite Bantham beach and Burgh Island with its famous Art Deco hotel and sea tractor access.

The apartment is well equipped for your perfect rural Devon getaway whilst providing easy access to local facilities. It features 2 large double bedrooms, a family bathroom with bath/shower, kitchen diner with dishwasher and a spacious lounge area with ample seating, smart TV and great views. Outside there is a split-level garden providing an upper patio area with table and chairs and a lower secluded traditional garden. There is a parking space for 1 car on the driveway and room on the quiet cul-de-sac for further parking if required. It also has high speed fibre broadband.

The local area provides a plethora of holidaying options, whether taking a relaxing beach holiday, eating out, shopping in the local towns such as Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Totnes and Dartmouth, or for the more active there are a vast selection of walks coastal, countryside or exploring Dartmoor. Further local activities include pony trekking, biking, golfing, tennis and if it’s water adventure you’re after, there’s sailing, boat hire, paddle boarding, local beaches providing surf hire, or just enjoying the simple timeless pleasures of rock pooling and crabbing.

Amazing host
The host was lovely and extremely helpful. Communication excellent with detailed directions to the house. Could not have wished for a better half term. Maybe just a but more sunshine, but with Plymouth being in driving distance there were enough activities to keep us busy on the rainy days.

Terrible weather but a lovely time had
We had a very comfortable stay at Sou West which was handy given the terrible weather Storm Henk inflicted on us! The apartment is well located with the local pub, shop and beaches all in walkable distance. Everything was clean and in good condition and views to the beach were a bonus. We would happily stay again and recommend for a stay in South Hams being close to Salcombe, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge etc. Thankyou Pauline for a lovely stay.

Short walking break
Ideal base for walking. Good local shop and pub meant we could leave the car behind. Accommodation clean, comfortable and well equipped. Communication before our break was excellent.

We have owned the apartment for over 20 years and enjoyed many a glorious family holiday in the area. In this time, we have also made a number of updates and improvements to the apartment to make it as comfortable as possible. Due to family commitments, we don’t use the apartment enough so would like to offer and share this wonderful experience with you.

Why they chose this property

We have lots of family ties to the area and the village. My husband’s family is originally from the area and he was brought up in the village of Thurlestone. My daughter also married in the village and we still have relatives in the area. We bought the apartment to allow our children to experience the amazing area and for our family holidays, of which we have had many, and continue to try visit as much as possible.

What makes this property unique

What sold the apartment to us was the view in the front living room, looking out to the historic Thurlestone Rock. The apartment itself has a warm homely feeling, complemented by a bright feeling of space & light. The outside area is perfect for relaxing and taking in the fresh sea air and being South/South West facing catches the sunshine all day long.
