About this property

Typical Salento house a stone's throw from the historic center

"L'ANTICA CASA DI COSMARITA" is a typical Salento building, inaugurated in July 2017 after a careful renovation, located a stone's throw from the historic center of Manduria, the Messapian city of Primitivo wine, where you can find places of historical interest, artistic and food and wine. The accommodation is ideal for couples and families who want to spend an unforgettable holiday in the heart of Salento, in total relaxation, surrounded by history, culture and well-being.
The lucky guests we will have the pleasure of welcoming will stay in a splendid house typical of the place with vaulted ceilings and exposed walls built entirely with Apulian limestone tuff stone blocks.
The Antica Casa di Cosmarita is located in the central area, provided by services, shops, restaurants, taverns, night clubs, and you just have to move to the immediate outskirts of the country, and you will find yourself immersed in the suggestive secular olive groves, in the primitive vines, in the pristine Mediterranean scrub and above all you will find yourself relaxing on the splendid beaches of San Pietro in Bevagna and Campomarino.
The apartment consists of an entrance / living room, furnished with an antique leather and solid wood sofa completely restored, digital terrestrial TV and DVD player, air conditioning and various antiques that will take you back in time.
The dining room is furnished with an extendable table, 6 chairs and a rustic style sideboard, plus there is a comfortable and characteristic kitchenette built in marble and tuff stone, fully equipped and inclusive of washer dryer, fridge, microwave oven, toaster , kettle and automatic capsule coffee machine.
The double bedroom, very intimate, has an ensuite bathroom, air conditioning and is finely furnished with the simplicity of the rural style. Also very simple is the small room equipped with a bunk bed and a double door wardrobe.
Guests will be greeted by the owners with a welcome basket, containing typical local products as well as oil and wine of their own production, and will be shown to them how to reach the points of interest in the area.
You will be a few hundred meters from the historic center where the Cathedral, the Jewish Ghetto, Calvary and other places of historical and artistic interest are located; not far away there is the Archaeological Park with the Messapic Walls, the Necropolis, the Plinian Source and the numerous Wine Cellars where you can taste and appreciate the various types of Primitivo wine of the Territory.
As already mentioned, at about 10 km you will find the most beautiful and renamed beaches of Italy of San Pietro in Bevagna and Campomarino, where the Chidro river and the Torre Borraco stream flow.
Other splendid itineraries to spend your days are the Caves of Castellana, the exciting Zoosafari "Fasanolandia" with La Selva di Fasano, Ostuni the white city, the trulli of Locorotondo and Alberobello, Taranto city of the "Two Seas" and Capital of the Magna Greece, the Itria Valley, the seaside villages of Gallipoli, Otranto and Porto Cesareo, Lecce Baroque city or you can choose to have fun at the “Carrisiland” water park in Cellino S. Marco or Miragica. In short, given its central location, Manduria is the optimal solution to be able to visit Puglia with its landscapes and its beauties that surround it, each with its own unique uniqueness.
How do you eat in Puglia? Ask those who have already experienced it: they will reply that in Puglia there is the culture, art and civilization of eating well. The taste of the sea and that of the earth are enhanced in recipes that only in the atmosphere of Puglia are expressed in all their delicacy. Durum wheat bread cooked in a wood oven, artisanal pasta made with durum wheat flour "orecchiette and pizzarieddi" with fresh tomato sauce, basil and "cacio ricotta", taralli and friselle topped with fresh tomato, extra virgin olive oil olive, salt and oregano, broad beans and chicory, cavatelli with legumes, seafood, linguine with clams, grilled fish, eggplant parmesan, roasted peppers, courgette with poverella, mozzarella, burrata, caciocavalli ... and lots of Primitivo di Manduria wine ".
