Terrific cabin, but definitely acknowledge any issues upon arrival rather than checkout.
This was our 3rd stay at this cabin with our 3 families. The cabin, location and amenities are perfect. However, lesson learned. TAKE PICTURES upon arrival, make phone calls immediately rather than waiting till checkout.. We were accused of some things that were simply unfair. Said we didn’t clean dishes (crockpot) that we didn’t use; said dishes in the cabinet was not cleaned (we brought disposable everything and only used a couple items that weekend); the fireplace stopped working while we were there but it was warm and didn’t mind, but told them after checkout rather while there (didn’t feel the need to have maintenance on something while we were there if it wasn’t needed); said towels smelled damp (the load I started as we left were in the dryer, but I wasn’t there to start them the second time in the dryer as I did on other loads while there) said the foosball table had a trim piece was broken (after investigating when my husband used it the first game the piece fell off. Apparently it wasn’t attached fully but “placed” from previous guest). We ended up paying four hundred dollars after checkout for that piece, extra cleaning (all beds were used and towels-apparently that was an issue for our group size). However, One of the jets in the hot tub was broken, which I completely agreed paying for that. It was used nonstop while there. We have a hot tub and we’ve had to replace ours once as well. That happens. However it was an issue that they had to drain the hot tub to clean it. There’s a nice beach/creek there. The kids went from the creek to the hot tub, so I’m sure it was very dirty. Although I would think draining after each guest is normal cleaning.
I still recommend the property. Booking was very easy with Kate. I would just quickly make calls about any issue you have rather than waiting for departure so that you are not blamed, whether it’s as simple as a dirty tub or as big as the gas fireplace not lighting. The gentleman you speak to after checkout is not as kind. Unfortunately there is no debating or questioning the issues after checkout. Sadly there will mot be a 4th stay for us as we had already planned to book.
