The Headington Shark House - Oxford

Discover the Extraordinary: Stay at the Iconic Headington Shark House

--About This Space--
Nestled in the heart of Oxfordshire, The Headington Shark House isn't just accommodation; it's a dive into a piece of living art history. Featuring the awe-inspiring "Untitled 1986" - a 25ft fiberglass and steel shark sculpture that spectacularly 'crashes' through the roof, this Victorian marvel offers a one-of-a-kind stay. Experience the comfort of modern living while enveloped in a story that has captivated the world.

--Your Stay With Us--
Perfect for families, groups, or a unique getaway, our spacious home comfortably accommodates up to 10 guests across 4 double bedrooms, with additional sleeping arrangements available upon request. Each room is a blend of comfort and style, ensuring a restful night after your Oxford adventures. The dining table in the kitchen can extend to seat eight.

--Unique Features for a Memorable Stay--
4 Double Bedrooms: Well appointed, with 3 en-suite and an additional shower room.
Versatile Sleeping Options: King size beds, double beds, and high-quality fold-out beds. Double sofa bed in the living room available.
Modern Conveniences: Fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, SKY TV, and fast Wi-Fi.
Outdoor Spaces: Enjoy the privacy of a walled garden and the convenience of off-street parking.*

*Parking is available for one car at the rear of the property. On road parking for additional vehicles may be arranged for a small charge (please ask). Be aware that the parking bay at the rear of the house is accessed under an arch, the maximum height is 2.12m and width is 2.25m.

--Experience Oxford from a Local Landmark--
Located just 1.5 miles from Oxford city centre, The Shark House is your gateway to exploring prestigious universities, historic pubs, and vibrant markets, all within easy reach via excellent bus service.

--A Story to Share--
The Shark House stands as a testament to creativity, freedom, and the voice against conformity. Erected by my late father, Bill Heine, and sculptor John Buckley, it sparked a national debate on public art and personal expression. Today, it invites you to ponder its deeper meanings or simply enjoy its whimsical defiance.

--Book Your Stay at the Shark House--
Ideal for: Family vacations, group stays, and those seeking an unforgettable lodging experience.
Special Requests: Feel free to reach out for arrangements like baby cots, high chairs, or any additional needs.
From the moment you step inside, the Shark House offers more than just a place to stay - it offers stories to tell and memories to make. Whether it's the history, the controversy, or the sheer novelty that draws you in, we promise an experience that's anything but ordinary.

--Note from Magnus Hanson-Heine--
As your host and part of the family that brought the Shark into existence, I'm here to ensure your stay is as comfortable and memorable as possible. The Shark House is more than just a rental; it's a piece of my family history, and I'm delighted to share it with you. Whether you're here to explore Oxford or simply escape the ordinary, welcome to a home that celebrates the unexpected at every turn.

Excellent apartment
We had a fabulous stay here. The property is lovely and ideally positioned for easy access into Oxford. The children loved watching the tourists taking photos of the house when we were in ! The one item to note is that whilst there is an allocated parking space, in a Honda Accord it is extremely tight. You may decide to simply buy on street parking for ease instead (which we would do if we were using this property again)

We enjoyed our stay. Comfortable house. Enough space for the whole family, we went I. Winter but the house was warm and cosy with lots of running water for a big family. Spacious and very handy to have en-suites.
