About this property

My Sicily Home - House with garden

The house, recently renovated, consists of two bedrooms, a living room with a fully equipped kitchen, two complete bathrooms, laundry room with washing machine, balcony, covered patio, private garden with barbecue corner. MySicily Home can comfortably accommodate 5 people.
The house located downstream of the hills of Salemi enjoys an excellent panoramic view: both from the balcony and from the garden you can admire the majestic Norman-Swabian castle that dominates the wonderful historic center of the Borgo di Salemi. In particular, in the evening when the city lights up, you will feel like you are witnessing the spectacle of an open-air nativity scene because the structure and distribution of the houses in the historic center recalls the shape of a small nativity scene. Another glimpse of the panorama that you can enjoy from MySicily Home and that will surely leave you speechless is the beautiful green of the trees of Monte delle Rose: this huge expanse of pine trees together with the Mediterranean scrub is the highest point of the city where you can admire the Borgo di Salemi in all its beauty, if you are a photography lover you can have fun taking beautiful photos!
Guests have at their disposal an entire house distributed on two levels: on the ground floor, the living area, an open space with TV corner (LED 32 "), a sofa, fully equipped 4-burner kitchen, fridge / freezer, kettle, dishes and pots, table extendable with chairs, pantry; adjacent to the living area, there is the bathroom with shower and the laundry room with washing machine, iron and ironing board, hairdryer; on the first floor, the sleeping area, consisting of two bedrooms, equipped with wooden slats, good quality mattresses, different types of pillows and new bathroom and kitchen bed linen; adjacent to the bedrooms there is the second bathroom with the bath; finally the study corner with desk and terrace with panoramic view over the garden and on the city of Salemi. The strong point of the house is certainly the garden: entirely fenced with private gate, barbecue corner and covered patio is the part of the house that you will love most to enjoy the Sicilian sun in full relaxation or where you can taste an excellent lemonade that you can get by collecting the beautiful organic fruits of our lemon tree that we grow naturally.
The house is located in the residential area "Largo Cappuccini", a very quiet and well-served neighborhood with shops, so called because of the presence of the Church of the Capuchin friars which is located just a stone's throw from the house and which actually divides it from the arteries. main of Salemi, such as the Via San Leonardo and the Via Antonino Lo Presti that connect the lower part of the city, where the house is located, with the upper part of the city or the Piazza Libertà where the historic center of the Borgo begins which is just 3 kilometers from the house.
More than a holiday, we would like to offer you an experience for you and your friends.
Salemi is a beautiful Arab-medieval village that will conquer you with its views and its ancient streets. The town has recently been included in the club of the most beautiful villages in Italy, the association of small Italian towns that stand out for their great artistic, cultural and historical importance, for the harmony of the urban fabric, livability and services to citizens . The Borgo di Salemi is famous for dinners and volitional altars in honor of the Saint San Giuseppe: in the week of March 19 there is a big party, in which many typical Sicilian dishes are prepared and offered, and the whole center historic is adorned with altars on which worked loaves, oranges, lemons and laurel branches are placed.
But Salemi is not only distinguished by the feast of San Giuseppe, but above all because it has a very rich and varied historical center: the city is gathered around its Norman_Swave castle of the XII-XIII, recently restored, it represents the flagship of the country as well as a must for tourists who come to Salemi, having become a museum and a place where concerts and cultural conferences are held.
With the castle entrance ticket you can also visit the Palazzo dei Musei (former Jesuit College), made up of 4 museums:
- Mafia Museum: born from an idea of Vittorio Sgarbi, former Mayor of the City of Salemi, curated by the Sicilian artist Cesare Inzerillo, it presents a disturbing, engaging and at the same time fascinating path dedicated to the mafia phenomenon, its history and the myth fueled over a century and a half by hundreds of literary, cinematographic and television works;
- Museum of the Landscape: the Museum of the Landscape of Salemi, the first in Italy, in addition to the exhibitions organized periodically, it is possible to visit the permanent exhibition "Landscapes of Italy", curated by FAI (Italian Environmental Fund);
- Museum of the Risorgimento: inaugurated by the President of the Republic in 2010, on the occasion of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, the Museum of the Risorgimento, which is spread over two rooms, preserves testimonies and relics dating back to the Risorgimento period;
- Museum of Sacred Art, where it is possible to admire the works of art from the churches of the Salem area, which collapsed or were seriously damaged by the earthquake that hit the Belice valley in 1968.
The strength of the city of Salemi is that being in the center of the Province, it enjoys a strategic position with respect to many neighboring places of cultural interest in western Sicily: among all the Temple and the Theater of Segesta, the Archaeological Park of Selinunte, the Medieval village of Erice, the Cretto di Burri in Gibellina, the island of Mozia in Marsala. The beautiful beaches of Selinunte, Castellammare del Golfo, Scopello can be reached in half an hour. Even the famous beach of San Vito lo Capo is not far from Salemi, and is connected by a bus service that allows you to go and return in the day. The historical centers of Mazara, Marsala and Trapani are absolutely worth visiting, maybe even in the evening.
Visit the Borgo di Salemi to enjoy a pleasant stay between culture, art, archeology and food and wine.

Merci encore.
