Not what we’d expected
The villa we thought we were getting was the one in all the pictures - uninterrupted sea view, nice garden, table on the terrace etc. In fact we were given (without notice) the 2nd of what turned out to be three villas, which was behind the photographed one so the views were obstructed by overgrown trees, and there was no garden.
Inside was perfectly clean and tidy, sadly not much character, but particularly lacking in the extra touches you’d expect for this price. The oven was old (and no oven gloves or tea towels were provided), pots and pans etc a mishmash, a table big enough for 4 even though the villa slept 6, and terribly uncomfortable beds. Also, our bedroom door didn’t shut properly.
One bedroom had a balcony which was practically on top of the swimming pool of the villa next door and gave neither us nor them any privacy from each other - as an afterthought the balcony had been entirely enclosed with bamboo fencing which looked awful and made the space unpleasant to be in.
The pool was nice but the only shade outside was from one smallish terrace umbrella. Since there was no garden there was nowhere to sit under a shady tree.
The ‘path’ down to the sea had not been cleared properly and was pretty treacherous in only sandals or flip flops which is what we had with us.
None of the issues were terrible in themselves, but added together resulted in a disappointing villa. A little more thought in and around the house, and honesty where the photos are concerned would make big difference.
