Guestbook comments from the owner

Booking this house was one of the best ideas we ever had. The house itself was quite awesome, the garden was great to spend time in the sun or have a lunch/dinner with the whole family in. A big thanks to Mike!. The equipment of the house is really great. We are sure we will come back again!

Lovely, spacious bungalow set in beautiful gardens

  • 5 of 5

The bungalow was a home from home with everything with could possibly need. The beds were extremely comfortable and the window seat in the master bedroom, with views overlooking Newhaven, was a lovely surprise. There are plenty of seats dotted around the beautiful gardens and wrought iron table and chairs for that spot of alfresco dining. There is also stuff in the shed but we didn't use this.

All in all, a very enjoyable holiday - even the weather was kind.

I would recommend Seaford beach (pebbles) if you are looking for free parking away from the crowds as you can park on the front.

I would highly recommend this holiday accommodation 😎

Owner's Response: Karen and I are delighted that you and your family enjoyed your stay and hope you will come again. Seaford Bay and beach and Seaford Head are very pictuesque. There is a fantastic view of the beach, and also of Newhaven Marina and the River Ouse where it meets the English Channel, from the cliff top where Newhaven Fort is situated. The parking area adjacent to the pebble beach at Newhaven costs £2 per day and is much used by anglers.

Maison adorable - impeccable - très confortable

  • 5 of 5

location ++++

Excellent.

  • 5 of 5

The bungalow is well equipped, the owner having considered every need.It was really clean and tidy, the beds were comfortable and the bed lined of good quality.

The garden was delightful with lovely plants as well as a nice outside seating area.We could not fault the accommodation at all.The area is a working town so not a tourist spot ,we drove to places of interest and there are good transport links, especially the bus.We didn't eat out in Newhaven,so can't pass on any recommendations.

Agree indeed with all previous reviews!!

  • 5 of 5

Just perfect

  • 5 of 5

We are a Swedish family of four who stayed in this lovely spacious house for two weeks. The place is clean and much effort has been put into the house to make sure the stay is as comfortable as possible. The garden is absolutely beautiful and the view magnificent.

We will defiantly return and give our highest recommendations.

Thank you Mike for your service and hard work to make our stay so comfortable.

Owner's Response: Karen and I are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and thank you for this very positive review. We look forward to your next visit. We know from your comments and from previous guest reviews that the house has been described as very comfortable and well equipped; and that its location is ideal, being in a coastal town in the Lewes District of East Sussex with easy access to the nearby coastal resorts of Eastbourne and Brighton which are situated about 30 minutes drive away along the coast road; and the Town of Lewes which is about 9 miles inland.

Newhaven is a coastal town in the Lewes District of East Sussex, surrounded by the stunning South Downs National Park. Situated at the mouth of the River Ouse, the town is also conveniently located between Brighton and Eastbourne and the harbour provides a year round ferry link to Dieppe via Transmanche Ferries.

Newhaven will appeal to anyone with a nautical flair. West Quay provides an ideal location to observe the fishing fleet and whether it is yachting, scuba diving, fishing, or any number of water activities that appeal, it can be found in Newhaven.

Newhaven enjoys a number of family attractions. Newhaven Fort, a nineteenth century cliff top fortress, complete with ramparts, underground passages and displays with audio-visual presentations of life in wartime Britain. Paradise Park which includes a dinosaur park, indoor and outdoor gardens, crazy golf, miniature railway and the Newhaven Historical Society Maritime Museum.
