Guestbook comments from the owner

Booking this house was one of the best ideas we ever had. The house itself was quite awesome, the garden was great to spend time in the sun or have a lunch/dinner with the whole family in. A big thanks to Mike!. The equipment of the house is really great. We are sure we will come back again!

The bungalow is well equipped, the owner having considered every need.It was really clean and tidy, the beds were comfortable and the bed lined of good quality.

The garden was delightful with lovely plants as well as a nice outside seating area.We could not fault the accommodation at all.The area is a working town so not a tourist spot ,we drove to places of interest and there are good transport links, especially the bus.We didn't eat out in Newhaven,so can't pass on any recommendations.

Agree indeed with all previous reviews!!

Just perfect

  • 5 of 5

We are a Swedish family of four who stayed in this lovely spacious house for two weeks. The place is clean and much effort has been put into the house to make sure the stay is as comfortable as possible. The garden is absolutely beautiful and the view magnificent.

We will defiantly return and give our highest recommendations.

Thank you Mike for your service and hard work to make our stay so comfortable.

Owner's Response: Karen and I are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and thank you for this very positive review. We look forward to your next visit. We know from your comments and from previous guest reviews that the house has been described as very comfortable and well equipped; and that its location is ideal, being in a coastal town in the Lewes District of East Sussex with easy access to the nearby coastal resorts of Eastbourne and Brighton which are situated about 30 minutes drive away along the coast road; and the Town of Lewes which is about 9 miles inland.

The place is an absolute wonder. It's charming, the kitchen is well-stocked, alls of the rooms are clean and bright, everything has been thought of and provided for our comfort and happiness. We will very happily stay here again when we are back in England, thanks to Mike and Karen, who also managed to arrange the weather for our 6 week stay. :) Thanks so much!

Trés reposant

  • 5 of 5

Owner's Response: We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your review and of course for the delicious Camembert and other delicacies that you brought to us from your region of France!. Many of our guests find the house to be very comfortable and a good size for their families. It is also in a good location for tourist trips within Sussex and to neighboring counties and even to London by train. We hope that you will come again.

A house to feel at home for the first minute

  • 5 of 5

After 7 Long hours on the road from Cornwall we had a heartfull wellcome from Mike, who has waited for us patiently.

The house ist beautufull from the in- and from the outside. Mike showed us around and we felt home instantly :-). There is everythin you need for cmfortable stay and even more. It was great to get everythin shown by Mike, so we did not have to search for our selfs.

The rooms are beautiful furnished (oppinion of us-parents- and the "Kids" -15/18/19) with plent of room for everyone to feel comfortable. So ist the garden: wonderful grown - we even had fresh rasberrys in the morning - different places to relax and feel good.

Everything was clean and specially the many towels in the bathroom were wonderful with us traveling with 3 big Kids!

Mike also told us alot about the surrounding and showes us a lot of brochures to look at, so we were all prepared for our week.

We have only been in "The Ark", a Little Restaurant at the Harbour - nice Food, good Drinks and nice to sit!

Alfriston is a very beautifull old and little english town nearby.

Your final words: We loved to stay in this house, felt at home and looking Forward to be back soon.

Owner's Response: We are so pleased that you and your family enjoyed your stay and had a safe journey home to Germany. We hope that you will come again. There is so much to see and do in Sussex, and day trips to London are easy by train. Visitors from Europe, Scandinavia and North America have all found the house to provide a perfect home from home and a comfortable base from which to enjoy trips to neighbouring towns and tourist attractions.
