The seals are a must-see on Horsey Gap!
In the summer take a memorable wildlife trip from the Horsey Staithe on Ross' boat on Horsey Mere.
Enjoy the wonderful sandy beaches at Horsey, Waxham and Winterton. Pop along to see the restored Horsey wind pump and have a cup of Tea and cake / ice cream at Horsey Staithe Tea room.
In Horsey there is the Nelson's Head pub serving food and a good range of ale. Close to the cottage and Horsey Beach is 'Poppylands' café, which would appeal to Dad's Army fans! A wonderfully quirky café open during the day with a great atmosphere. And finally the National Trust tea room next to Horsey Staithe and wind pump (open from Easter to October).
Lots of nearby activities to keep the children busy too. Bewilderwood, near Wroxham, is within half an hours drive and a perfect family day out. Thrigby Zoo (Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens) is also close by and is a fantastic place to visit. Enjoy Great Yarmouth, again within half an hour, and bursting with fun things to do, so many activities, with attractions and shows stretching along the Golden Mile and the long sandy beach. Horsey is one of the closest coastal villages to Norwich too. The city is well worth a visit with its Cathedral - one of the finest in England with its beautiful cloisters and Cathedral Close. Lots of good restaurants and great shopping too.
Having lived locally in Norfolk for over 20 years I am able to offer invaluable advice and local knowledge to all guests. Please feel free to ask any questions or seek suggestions for activities or destinations to visit during your stay.
Why Suzanna chose Horsey
Cosy, peaceful and relaxed yet only a short walk from the beach, 'Poppylands' Café and Brograve Mill. Also a few minutes away from Horsey's highly rated pub, The Nelson's Head. Fantastic country walks straight from the cottage.
What makes this Cottage unique
Beautifully renovated and furnished - a great holiday home for couples or families. Great wildlife from your doorstep. Also the amazing spectacle of the Seals on Horsey beach, particularly during the breeding season (end October to February)
