Barcelona: Visit Barcelona with its many well known attractions and fabulous restaurants
Ramblas, Sagrada Familia, Gaudi, Boqueria-market, Port Olimpic, Montjuic, FC Barcelona football stadium, Place de Catalunia, Pasei de Gracia, Casa Mila - la Pedrera, Casa Batllo, Museu Picasso, Fundacio Miro, Palau de Musica, Catedral de Barcelona, Ciutat Vella - the old town, Maremagnum, Colombus monument, Zoo, Parc Guell, Tibidabo, and many more.
Enjoy the beach towns Sitges and Villanova: Sitges, at 10 min drive from the villa, is a beautiful small coastal town, known for its beaches, its fabulous boulevard, historical sites, night life and fantastic restaurants of which many are specialised in fish and other seafood. It has for decades been a popular haunt for artists and actors and those that like the finer things in life. Sitges is very much unspoilt and still has pebbled streets, providing a nice contrast from the hustle and bustle of Barcelona. It is also popular for its regular local festivals. The internationally best known are the Carnival in February and the Film festival at the end of the summer.
Villanova, just south of Sitges, is well known for its large and beautiful family beaches, restaurants and shops. Villanova is very much a family hit.
The surroundings: If you want a break from the pool, there is much to see and to do in the area.
Well appreciated attractions are visits to local wine bodegas. The most popular among our guests are the ones to Torres, Codorniu and Freixenet. All at approximately 15 min drive. More adventurous and a bit further is the wine area of the Priorat.
Another hit is a visit to the Monastery of Montserret and its spectacular location in the mountains. A bit further away and less known but well appreciated are the monasteries of Santa Creus and of Santa Maria de Poblet.
For children the adventure parc of Port Aventura is a must at less than an hours drive, close to Tarragona. At Terragona worthwhile a visit is the Roman city, a UNESCO world heritage site.
And wherever one is travelling to, trying out the local Spanish restaurants with their fabulous dishes is a real treat.
