Amazing Upscale unit: Many Luxury Upgrades!

Margaritaville, the PERFECT SAYULITA VACATION SPOT!! Welcome to our vacation home “Margaritaville” located in Sayulita Mexico. Ours is a family friendly house nestled into one of the most sought after places to stay in Sayulita, the Los Delfines complex, it is one of a few beachfront complexes located in Sayulita. Margaritaville is one of 12 three bedroom homes, these homes share two swimming pools and a common beachfront area. Margaritaville is located a mere 100 flat paces to the sand and ocean and fronts onto a spotlessly clean swimming pool. It’s a short walk down the beach to Sayulita’s surf break, a favorite break known for its easy waves for beginners, and consistent surf. Surf boards and lessons are available for rent right on the beach. The water in the area beside the surf break is shallow for a long way out, great for little swimmers.

Margaritaville is one of the most convenient locations in Sayulita, two small grocery stores are a 4 minute walk away, and the closest restaurants are 2 minutes away. It is an easy eight minute walk to everything including the downtown plaza and the many varied restaurants, services, and shopping that Sayulita has to offer, yet it is far enough away from the late night noise that sometimes occurs in that area. Everything in town is walking distance from this location! Margaritaville is the PERFECT LOCATION for people that want to be close to everything, yet still want to enjoy the sounds of the ocean and crickets at night.

• In the front of the house we built a private child safe courtyard that looks onto the pool. This walled and gated area helps keep small swimmers out of the pool.

• We’ve also mounted a hammock in this area for afternoon siestas.

• The palapa is a great place for lunches, or some shade on hot days.

• The courtyard palapa has room for everyone, and is the perfect place to relax out of the sun, or to have a glass of wine, an ice cold beer, or margarita later in the evening. This multi-purpose area can be enjoyed all day and evening. We spend a great deal of time here when we visit.

Sayulita is a great town with a lot to offer. There are spas for those that want to be pampered, and many activities such as horseback riding on jungle trails, zip lines, ATV rentals, sport fishing, surfing, boogie boarding, and skim boarding. The sandy beach features nice swimming, sun tanning, snorkeling, and you can relax on the sand or rent an umbrella and chairs. On occasion dolphins and whales sport within sight. You can eat the street food, or sample the many restaurants in the area. You can see the fish the fishermen bring in, send the kids shopping at stores or booths in the town square, sample the local ice cream and baked goods, and best of all you can walk at night. For those interested in nightlife, there are several places that feature salsa dancing, or DJ music and dancing, depending on the night of the week and the time of year. The more adventurous can leave Sayulita to visit nearby towns and attractions.

Margaritaville has the perfect location for those that want to experience what Sayulita and surrounding area has to offer. The gated courtyard makes it a unique, child safe family friendly rental. The renovation makes it an ultra luxurious retreat that you are sure to enjoy!

NOTE ON RENTALS: Currently we do weekly Saturday to Saturday stays only during high season, running mid November to end of April. Shorter stays or stays that are not Saturday to Saturday will be considered during the slower season. Thank you!

Why The Owner chose Sayulita

After visits to Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, and Puerto Vallarta, we finally found a town in Mexico that had a lot to offer beyond a typical tourist experience. Sayulita has a nice beach, great beginner surf, as well as a very nice people living here. We have always felt very welcome and safe here, the people are great, and our kids love it. There is always something to do, and we tend to relax well as a family while visiting. We have been visiting since 2001, and although the town has changed, the character of the place remains the same.

What makes this house unique

The house is great for large groups, with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, it is great for people planning a vacation with extended family such as in-laws. With our 3 girls, the 3 bathrooms make for less time arguing over the shower and sinks. The house has great outdoor deck areas, including places to get away from your group and recharge if necessary, plus areas to have the group gather and relax. The gated courtyard can keep small swimmers out of the pool area, it also serves as a central place to meet, relax, and eat meals. Margaritaville is a great family friendly place to visit.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just a quick note to let you know we made it to/from Margaritaville safe and sound and had a fantastic time while we were there. We really enjoyed the house, complex grounds, pool, ocean, waves, sun, and the very quaint town of Sayulita. We are still in shock being back in the frozen Yukon and miss our relaxed life style and daily routine we enjoyed in Sayulita! Our 2 weeks went by much too fast and want to be back there…..another week or two would have been really nice. A couple of highlights were a trip to the market in La Penita and a visit to Guayabitos to show our relatives(Elmy’s sister and family) where we stayed last year, Dorado fishing (I got a nice one and our neighbors that my brother in-law a I shared the boat with got two), hiking to San Pancho, horse back riding, hours and hours of Boogie Boarding (lots of huge waves!), going to local restaurants (my favorite by far was the Mocajetes Azteca at Sayulita Café), walking around town and enjoying the festivities of Sayulita Days, playing cards, reading, having a morning coffee or afternoon corona under the patio palapa and just enjoying the fantastic weather and scenery in Sayulita. Everything about Margaritaville and Sayulita met or exceeded our family’s expectations! A really great, laid back, interesting, sun, sand and wave filled holiday. Our 10 year old son Logan had a blast as did Elmy and I and our relatives!!! We took lots of great photos!

Margaritaville Vacation

  • 5 of 5

First off, it was a pleasant surprise to find that the property was nicer than the pictures show, I mean the pictures show you what you can expect but the house was beautiful.

When we arrived we were able to park off street, access the property, and settle in. No equipment issues, no missing keys, no unmade beds. We had a wonderful housekeeper and a helpful but non intrusive property manager. During our two week stay we never had the need to call for any type of service or repair, it was completely stress free!

We got to know our neighbors quickly and enjoyed their company while sitting at the pool or playing in the ocean, but when we wanted to get away we simply retreated into the privacy of our enclosed palapa.

Town Centre was only a short 5 minute walk and the restaurants were abundant, inexpensive, and served delicious food. There were ample opportunities to learn how to surf, take Spanish lessons, shop, and explore the surroundings without ever once having a desire to head to the frenetic pace of Puerta Vallarta. When it was time to head back to Margaritaville in the evening, we were able to leave the noise behind and fall asleep to the sound of the pounding surf, rather than amplified bass music.

Finally the locals were friendly and welcoming. We visited the animal shelter and found that the town of Sayulita has a free Spay and Neuter program that depends on donations from whomever can help, so we helped as best we could.

Margaritaville, with its recent renovations, is a gem and should not be missed.

Not on the beach, theft rampant, no hot water, no water pressure...

  • 1 of 5

A much better situation would be to get two rooms at the Villa Amor. This Margaritaville property has several problems which are insurmountable. First and foremost the theft problem...After talking (in Spanish) with the security Grandparents, (I am convinced the theft was accomplished by the grandchildren of the security) it was obvious theft occurs regularly and is orchestrated by the security themselves. We were literally on 100 meters down the street for 20 minutes when things were stolen. Tennis shoes, backpacks, hats, sunglasses...

and yes, they did try the little mini safes. But hey, if the will steal shoes, why even come to this part of town?

No hot water, no water pressure, had to use outdoor shower. Even after contacting "the caretaker" there was no response. This is definitely not upscale, that is a joke. No privacy, you are right on the community pool, people look right into your window...The photos make you think differently, the art of fraudulent advertising...

I have been to Sayulita many, many times. This was the only bad experience. This property is controlled by the security people for their own economy...

Owner's Response: I am so sorry to hear your experience was not a good one. We do our best to maintain the quality of the house and respond to problems at the house immediately and I believe this is why we have many return renters. I am sorry to hear that you had some items stolen while you stayed with us, and I can assure you that is not the typical experience of our renters. As with many towns that experience a great deal of visitors, you will find most crime in Sayulita is a crime of opportunity. If a window or door is left unlocked, people may enter and steal what they can grab quickly. I sent 2 files to you when you rented, these included a map to the house, along with a welcome file. The welcome file we emailed you clearly states the name and contact information of our property managers, as well as what to do if there is a problem at the house. As this review is our first and only contact from you, and it is occurring 27 days after your stay, it is impossible for us to fix a problem we were not made aware of while you stayed at the house. Had you read the welcome information, a quick call or email to my property manager would have been all it took to get the water problem looked at and fixed properly. Although you talked to the gardener-caretaker of the 12 homes in the complex, and he was kind enough to restart the water heater for you, for future reference talking to the wrong person does not get things fixed properly. FYI our next guests read the booklet and notified our property manager of the problem with the water heater, and it has now been replaced and fixed. For future renting, I would suggest you read the description; ours clearly states this is a beachfront complex with 12 homes around 2 swimming pools that share common beachfront area. I find our home very private most of the time, but if you wanted seclusion, this rental may have been the wrong choice, as you are part of a rental complex which is clearly stated. A little reading goes a long way. For future, please read the listing fully before you decide to rent, and also read the literature the homeowner sends you on who to contact when you have any issue at the home. I can assure you, had myself or my property manager been contacted immediately and during your stay, we would have done our best to make your stay a better one. Best regards.

excellent house

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for us (4 adults, 2 kids and an infant) - big enough for all, walking distance to the beach and the center of the town (which was magnificent in itself) and a fun pools for kids just outside the house. It had all the amenities we needed and was in a very good condition. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there

Great stay in Margaritaville!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in Margaritaville. The house is very comfortable and is in a great location. The shared pools were great and the beach access was wonderful. The house and complex are great if you have young babies/kids. Also, we loved that we were not on a hill - made it easy to walk into town with a stroller.

Loved this place!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in Sayulita and stayed at the Margaritaville house. It was a great house with plenty of room for all. It is in a perfect location to restaurants and shopping (probably not even a 10 minute walk) and just few steps from the house and you are on the beach. We rented a car, but I wouldn't bother with the expense next time - it really wasn't needed. We will definitely be back.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review and kind words. You are very correct, the house location is amazing, close to everything and yet a quiet place to stay. No car required unless you want to visit neighbouring towns up the coast. We hope to see you again in the future.

May 2011, I went with my wife, mother-in-law, two sons in their early 20s and a friend of the boys'. The condo is large enough, and well laid out, that we were all comfortable. The palapa - patio is a great feature and gives a second living room. There are actually two pools, one on each side of this unit and if there are a batch of kids in one, the other one is usually empty. Beach access is perfect, about 100 feet, and the beach walk to town center and the surf break is short and enjoyable and with a few bar/restaurant operations on the way. We rented only a small car and made the boys bus to PV but wound up doing it ourselves. Easy, cheap and fun. I won't even bother with a car next time.
