The house is based close to the mountainside and you can often see baboons close by. Baboons can enter the house and thus care is needed to ensure windows and doors are kept shut when nobody is in occupation. Sharing the house with the baboons is not recommended.
The house is towards the top of the village and is easy to reach from whichever end you enter Scarborough. Travel to Cape Town is either across the mountain( Kaapsie Weg) or the toll road known as Chapmans Peak. The latter offer stunning views towards Hout Bay and is the back drop frequently used by advertisers selling luxury cars. Cape Point is within minutes of the house and the drive into Simonstown offers fabulous views of the Ocean and surrounding reserves.
It is an hour or so from Cape Town International although like so much of the Western Cape has no public transport links. It is not within a gated community but suffers little from crime. As with most of Cape Town common sense is king and it is suggested that the car is parked in the garage overnight. The house has not previously been let save to family. Our aim is to retire there in due course so please take care and enjoy the beauty that the area has to offer.
