About Clare Molloy

Part Brit, part Australian I love the mountains and can be found skiing and snowboarding in the winter and cycling up hills in the summer.

Clare Molloy purchased this chalet in 2012

Why Clare Molloy chose Valais

There is no better place to relax we have the best views in the Alps.

What makes this chalet unique

The views are incredible and I like to think we have thought of everything. There is nothing better than a glass of champagne in the hot tub after a day in the mountains.

Wonderful chalet, beautiful scenery

  • 5 of 5

Chalet La Vache is a very comfortable and clean chalet located high up and overlooking spectacular views from all the windows. it has a very large lounge with good seating and a well equipped kitchen to suit all level of catering and both inside and outside dining areas to suit all seasons. Enjoy a glass of champagne in the hot tub or a relaxing sauna while watching the sun go down. This is our second visit, both during September, and although not the ski season there is still so much to do and see in the area. We would recommend the Friday morning market in Sion, very interesting, and a cable car trip to the peak which has stunning views. Also a visit to Montreaux situated on Lake Geneva, just like being in the South of France! This chalet has everything that you would require for a fabulous holiday.

Fantastic Chalet in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Hard to believe, but the views are even more spectacular in the flesh than in the pictures. The chalet has everything needed, including a well equipped kitchen, plus indoor and outdoor dining tables and chairs. The fixtures and fittings are all of a high standard, and the decor tasteful, with some nice cow themed twists. Huge windows in the living area, plus french windows in the downstairs bedrooms make the most of the stunning views. The Chalet was very clean and well maintained.

Outside the chalet, there are plenty of activities on offer year round. We did some lovely walks, took the chair lifts and cable cars up on to the tops, and did some cycling. The town is within walking distance, as are a number of lovely bisse walks. We also loved kicking back at the end of the day and relaxing in the hot tub, which is positioned to make the most of the views, and has outdoor speakers, so you can listen to a bit of music too - heaven.

We would love to come back again, either in the summer again, or perhaps in the winter, which I'm sure would be equally fantastic.

Fantastic chalet, wonderful views

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful summer holiday at beautiful Chalet La Vache. The location of the property is ideal. Just 90 minutes drive from Geneva airport and a few minutes from the village of Nendaz, which has plenty of shops and restaurants. The Chalet is stylishly furnished and well equipped with everything you could want. But what really makes it special are the fabulous views! During our stay we enjoyed some wonderful walks in the local area, taking ski lifts up and enjoying incredible scenery on the way back down. It was different from our usual beach holidays but our children absolutely loved it! And what could be better after a long days' exploring than to come back to the lovely Chalet and relax in the hot tub.

The week flew by and there is so much more to see in the area that we would love to come back again. All in all a great holiday in a beautiful part of the world and I would highly recommend Chalet la Vache!

Chalet La Vache was everything we hoped for.

  • 5 of 5

The chalet is beautifully situated with views that are absolutely breathtaking. It was really well equipped with everything to make the stay really comfortable. We particularly liked lounging in the hot tub in the evening and looking out at the fabulous mountains.

The resort of Haute Nendaz is a very pretty swiss village. It didn't feel overly built up, but had plenty of bars and restaurants. We spent most of the week walking in the mountains, either by taking the lifts up to the top and walking down, or choosing one of the 'bisse' walks out of Nendaz. A highlight for us was going to the top of Mont Fort where the views were stunning.

We sadly didn't get to any of the other activities on offer, but we would have loved to have had a go at the mountain biking. We saw plenty of people taking their bikes up in the lifts then cycling down the mountain which looked like a lot of fun. There was so much to do that it deserves another holiday!

I would highly recommend this chalet and the surrounding area in the summer. We were two families, consisting of four children (12,12, 10 and 9). The children loved walking in the mountains and using the cable cars and lifts (apparently it's better than Chessington!!). In fact my son said it was the best holiday ever and cried when we left!

We would definitely love to come back.

Lovely and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Chalet la Vache is a lovely, well-appointed property. We found it to be as represented, well-maintained, comfortable and clean. The owner was attentive and easy to work with. Access is convenient -- we arrived by train in Sion, and picked up a rental car next door to the train station for the 20-minute drive up the mountain to Nendaz. Haute Nendaz is a busy resort village with plenty of shops and food markets. Ski access is very convenient. Our family enjoyed our visit and would gladly return.

Familie Heemann/Birnbaum

Hello Mrs. Molloy,

Thanks for a great holiday. We all thoroughly enjoyed the time and filled us feel at home. We will be happy to return.

Short information about their coffee. During the "old" coffee of the upper lever is close to broke. Through us, or even before, we do not know exactly. Since we love to drink coffee, we / you bought us a new one. The receipt for warranty is included in the cabinet.

Family Birnbaum would wish for a travel cot and a high chair.

We wish you a healthy and good year 2015th

Lots of love

In summer, Nendaz is a centre for mountain biking, hiking and mountain festivals. The town has an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, squash, gymnasium, nearby golf courses, fishing, paragliding, extensive well marked mountain walking and biking routes, mountain tours and climbing. The network of ancient waterways (bisses) make for fabulous easy walks, and events such as the alphorn festival and local cow fighting are not to be missed.

Crans Montana (home of the European Masters), Verbier, Leuk Seuston and Sion are all 18 holes courses, and Sierre and Cran-sur-Sierre are 9 hole courses. If you are willing to travel a little further, 9 hole courses can also be found at Matterhorn, Source du Rhone and Riederalp.

Families are well catered for with a children's ski centre, crèche, games library, ice-rink and special low rates for family ski passes. The ski schools are excellent with very friendly instructors & the 'kids area' at Tracouet is huge, safe and very well catered.

There is also more than 90 km of winter hiking, snow shoeing and cross-country skiing, and for the more adventurous a superb snow park, free ride paradise, snow tubing area, sports centre and inviting après-ski bars. The 3,330 m high Mont-Fort Glacier guarantees excellent snow conditions from November until the end of April.

Accessibility: Chalet La Vache has its own driveway and parking for 4 cars. There is also a garage with space for 1 car. The main entrance to the chalet is via the terrace on the first floor, one set of steps from the carpark. Nendaz village is 2km up the road and offers plenty of restaurants, boutique shops, 3 supermarkets and numerous ski hire shops (residents at our chalet receive a 10% discount from Gaby Sports). However, the nearest boulangerie and smaller supermarket is about 1km up the road. The closest telecabine is in the village (car parking is plentiful) which takes you up to Tracouet at 2200m. Other starting points include Siviez (10 minutes), Veysonnaz (15 minutes) and Thyon (20 minutes).
