Built in the 1890's by the 1st Duke of Fife, Easter Kintrae House is now a much loved family home.
Kintrae, meaning edge of the tide, explains the position of this warm sandstone house, sitting on a small rise and commanding spectacular views across what was once a sea loch but is now an ocean of barley and wheat.
The Lounge and dining room have sandstone fireplaces -crafted from locally quarried stone. The snug, the small sitting room has the 2nd television, DVD and CD player and also a small fireplace.
You will then move through to the back of the house where the kitchens are divided into Aga kitchen, fitted kitchen and a laundry room. The 2nd shower room is also here.
Climbing from the front hall you pass the main bathroom to reach the 5 bedrooms -Two large doubles, 2 standard doubles, and 1 small room with children's bunks. A travelling cot is available on request and a double day bed will also be available in one of the large double bedrooms from Spring 2013
The 1st shower room is situated on the level of the bedrooms
The gardens: The gardens are divided into several areas- a small partially walled garden West of the dining room planted in lavender, spring bulbs and recently a peach tree [let's hope it survives]
To the front of the house is a large gravelled area - parking for several cars- surrounded by plantings of trees, shrubs, roses and perennials..
There is an outdoor Pizza oven/ Barbeque and additional kettle barbeque.
To the East lies a lawned garden with fruit trees- apple, plum, pear and wild cherry - the blossom is quite beautiful in the Spring. ,the grassy bank carpeted with snowdrops early in the year closely followed by daffodils and wild garlic beneath the cherries.
On the North West side of the House is a second gravelled parking area -catching the evening sun .
A newly developed/developing garden to the South East is planted in young trees and shrubs.
Herbs - fennel, rosemary, mint, marjoram........ are scattered liberally around.

I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed staying in a house as characterful and comfortable as Easter Kintrae - it really was a home from home. Your attention to detail in all aspects from crockery to bedlinen and lovely furniture, is really extrordinary, and we wanted for nothing. Thank you very much indeed. Needless to say we also greatly enjoyed exploring the area properly
Very well equipped house that caters for 8 adults and 2 children. Always warm.
We loved our time at this lovely property. I knew by the pictures I would love it but when you arrive and actually see this home it is amazing. Meeting Linda at the home and her showing us around was lovely. I would stay here again. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.
Well stocked home ideal for family stay. Wanted for nothing. Location has a rural feel but is really close to everything you need. Would definitely stay again.
Great for our family celebration. Plenty of room (rooms!) for the kids to run around and play - and for the adults to have peace and quiet.
This is the second time we have stayed in the house and it was fantastic. The house is very spacious and warm, and exactly what you want over the festive period. The owners are very welcoming. We would not hesitate to book it again.
We stayed in Easter Kintrae Farmhouse for five days over the New Year period. The house was wonderful, very warm and clean and the perfect place to recharge our batteries. It is in a great location with Elgin only a few minutes away and beautiful coastal walks just to the north. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back.
