Wonderful Townhouse with Fantastic Owner!

  • 5 of 5

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience. We had a large party so we rented both Townhouse A and B for our stay. Raj the owner was wonderful and responsive to our questions prior to arrival and tended to the few items we had issues with during our stay. The location of these townhouses is perfect, with the train and bus lines only steps away. The townhouses had everything we needed (and more) for our stay and our family is still raving about the great experience.

Nice and comfortable

  • 4 of 5

This is a nice house with easy access to trains and buses. The house itself is nice and clean. The owner did leave clear instructions about everything we need to know about the house.

I do have small complaint that the cooking pots are all very old and scratched and I do feel those need to be replaced as they are nonsticky pots. There is not enough dish washing liquid and detergent for us.

The other small thing to consider is that it takes about 15-20 minutes to get on the train and get off from Cannon street to transfer to other underground trains. In general, I would recommend this townhouse.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I take your point on the saucepans and have ordered some new ones - they are actuall quite new but non-stick pans never last very long in holiday homes as they suffer a lot of abuse! I hope to see you on your next visit to London.

Awesome Home, Great Location!!

  • 5 of 5

This was a family reunion & the accomandations were perfect! My elder parents had there own space on first floor & courtyard. The home was clean & great space for all involved, close to great restaurants & naval college & observertory! Next to railway & metro, close to downtown London & sites. My family loved our stay & Raj the owner was always accessible. Thank you, great town & safe in Greenwich!!!

Beautiful house in a handy location

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful house. It was well equipped and very comfortable. The rooms were a good size so we didn't feel cramped and managed to sleep very well in the very comfy beds at the end of many long days of sightseeing in London! Mayston Mews was in a very convenient location and we were surprised at how easy it was to travel into the centre and how quick it was - managed to reach most of our destinations within half an hour.

Raj recommended a couple of activites and restaurants that weren't in our guide books - great tips! Swimming at the Olympic pool (wow!) and trying the new driving range by the O2. It was very special as you can hit balls off the upper deck and look across to fantastic views over Canary Wharf. The restaurant was amazing!

Shirley from USA

  • 2 of 5

This property needs a total makeover. Many broken things including spindles on bannister, broken furniture, mirrors, windows would not open for breeze in front of house, security gates broken, bringing people into apt with 1hour notification, very little household supplies to start with, and many other small issues. I did notify Raj about this and she responded with half truths and nothing was settled. Pictures on VRBO and HOMEAWAY must be from the beginning of the when the house was first remodeled. Please be careful when or if you want to rent from Raj. I have taken pics of these things for proof.

Owner's Response: Dear Shirley, I'm very surprised to see such a review. As you can see from my other reviews on both this and my other Townhouse, your review is in contradiction to my many other 5 star review ratings from lots of happy holiday makers (many of whom make repeated bookings with me). When you informed me of the "broken furniture" (2 drawer fronts on a bedside cabinet and a missing runner on a dresser), I took it in good faith that these were not damaged by yourselves and offered to send somebody to repair or replace the items immediately. You said it was fine and to leave it until after your departure. They were repaired in 30 minutes by the handyman! I'm not sure what your issues are regarding the windows or the little household supplies. I provide everything stated on the website and more. I've never had any remarks from any previous guests regarding these issues. I already apologized for the short notice regarding a surveyor visit and held up my hands to say I had forgotten to mention it to you earlier. I asked whether this was ok with you and you replied that it was fine. Indeed you chatted to him for quite a while. I would have rearranged if it was not convenient. I can only think that you felt the need to write this review as I refused to make you a financial compensation after your departure when you had given no indication of any dissatisfaction during your stay and said you were having a great time. It's a shame you feel the need to bully me with a poor review. I take my business very seriously and take a lot of pride in providing my guests with a home away from home during their stay at Mayston Mews.

Lovely property in a great location

  • 5 of 5

The house was in a great location, next to the train station for travelling around London. Inside was very spacious, and clean on arrival. It was equipped with everything we needed, and there's a corner shop nearby for any extras. We had plenty of space for 5 adults, and 2 children. The owner was very accommodating about arrival times, and providing additional baby equipment.

You can find us in the heart of the newly appointed Royal Borough of Greenwich. This is one of a pair of houses located in the same development (only 1 house apart) so perfect for groups and large families. They are in a fabulous, convenient and secure location...adjacent to Westcombe Park rail station with frequent trains into London (13 minutes to London Bridge) and then a few minutes further takes you to Waterloo (London Eye and Tate Modern) and Charing Cross (for Trafalgar Square, Westminster, Leicester Square, Covent Garden and Buckingham Palace).

It's a 2 minute train ride or a 10 minute walk to historic Royal Greenwich Park - host to the Olympic Equestrian events and the modern Pentathalon. The Park houses Greenwich Royal Observatory, Meridian Line, Queens House and the Maritime Museum. A 20 minute walk brings you into the heart of Old Greenwich Village with it's fantastic art market and numerous historic sites. In particular the stunning Painted Hall and Chapel. Last, but no means least, Greenwich is home to the world famous Cutty Sark - the last tea clipper... This was relaunched in April 2012 after it was severely damaged by fire. From Greenwich, you can take the River Boat into town or the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) into the City.

A huge Sainsbury's superstore is a few minutes walk away. A 10 screen cinema can be found adjacent to the Sainsburys. Numerous restaurants, takeaways and shops can be found lining the main road into Greenwich town centre.

It is a short bus journey to North Greenwich underground station at the O2 arena (formerly known as the Millennium Dome), From here you can hop on the tube into London or even on to the River Bus. The Underground will take you directly to the London Eye, Tate Modern, Westminster, Madame Tussauds and Stratford - home to the Olympic Park. Again there are many restaurants located at the O2. The O2 arena hosted some of the Olympic events such as Gymnastics and Basketball semis and finals. It is now home to many restaurants, a huge mulitplex cinema and a bowling alley. If you are feeling adventurous you can now do the skywalk over the Dome. The O2 has become the worlds largest Arena venue hosting music concerts and sporting events.

Mayston Mews is conveniently located for Exel exhibition Center. You can take a Cable Car directly from North Greenwich to Exel.

There is also a direct tube to Westfied Shopping Center - Europe's largest and newest urban Shopping Mall. This is located adjacent to the Olympic Stadium. You can also find the Orbit which is the UK's largest sculpture and go to the top for a birds eye view of London. The Olympic Swimming pool is now open to the public and a fantastic place to go for a swim - especially if you are a keen swimmer.
