The terrace is partly wonderfully cool in the shade of a big tree, with huge table, chairs, chaiselonges and a portable simple barbecue.
All windows have a fly net.
The area around Marathonas is still original. Because of the agriculture it's not allowed to build big houses and therefore inhabited by villagers and farmers and not yet developed by much tourism. ( most visiters come from Athens for a weekend beach and taverne day)
There are many things to do ...... swimming, surfing, sailing, horseback riding, hiking, or day trips to Evia by (Website hidden by Airbnb) well as museum visits and day trips to Athens (40Km)
Or simply enjoy a book in the quiet and private atmosphere of the beautyfull garden.
You can eat well and relatively cheap in one of the nearby still very traditional tavernas directly by the sea.
The house is located only 1.3km from the beach, shops, tavernes, cafe's, bars, pool bar, bakery, ......
It`s nice for a walk on the quiet country road, but having a car is advisable.

A garden gate provides the access to the house or property, which is safely surounded by a fence.
Before the arrival a meeting place is agreed and I will lead you from there to the house. Otherwise, an exact driving guide will be sent by e-mail prior to arrival ...
Since the property is surounded by fields, it`s peaceful. Once in a while a tractor or car might pass by. It`s flat, so ideal for cycling. The garden is surounded by a fence that gives you the feeling of total privacy.
For excursions it`s good to have a car. There are lots of differant places to explore. Also not far away there is a little port with a ferry that takes you across to Evea. If you don`t want to rent a car, it`s recomendable to rent a bicycle which is easy and not expensive. There is a bus to Athens city which takes 90min. The busstop is about 1,3 km from the house.
